Name:Etzam
Age:18
Race: Demon-Oathed Human
Physical Description: His hair is blond and sort of between wavy and straight. It's also kind of shaggy. His eyes are a plain brown, but change red if he borrows magic from the demon inside him, or when the demon takes control of him. Etzam is somewhat tall and seems to be very well built. On his forehead is a black symbol of the demon he made an oath to, but it's covered usually by his bangs.
Personality: He's warm, friendly, but distant at the same time. He's afraid of hurting anybody that gets too close. At first he seems fairly optimistic, but close up he seems terribly sad and hurt.
Powers: Etzam wields something between a blade and a staff. It looks sort of like a sword with an extended handle. He can preform swift physical attacks and chant spells he learned as a sage. Every now and then, in desperate situations, he can borrow power from a demon.
Weakness: Etzam is weak to light attacks, although he is pretty much a good guy who is simply trouble. His magic is strong, but conjuring it can take a bit of time unless he's in demon form. His demon form is crazy fast, but also very reckless and not so cautious. The demon form can't feel most pain, so it's easier for Etzam to lose control of himself and his life in this situation. He's come close to death a few times thanks to the demon's carelessness.
History: Etzam was inspired by his older brother, Jadis, to become a strong sage. Etzam only wanted to provide protection for his poor family and loved ones. Etzam studied to be strong and kept working with magic since he was 8. Everything seemed to go his way until he was seventeen. One day he was laughing and dueling with his brother with wooden swords. They ran about here and there and even traveled deep into the forests. As soon as it started to get late, a demon-possessed wolf attacked the boys. First it went after Etzam and slashed open his chest. Etzam saw his blood and desperately tried to crawl away. The wolf jumped towards him again, but this time, Etzam's brother jumped between the two. Jadis threw a spell at Etzam to push him far away accross the forest. Etzam watched in horror as the spell flew him away from the sight of the wolf killing his brother. None of them knew spells that were combined with light or used pure light that could affect the demon. Etzam woke up with a headache the next day and found himself in a part of the forest he did not know. Filled with despair and mourning, he walked until he found a village. The kind villagers gave him food and restored him to health, although a scar was left on his chest. Etzam stayed around, though to the villagers disappointment, he never spoke a word until he was about to leave and smiled to them and simply said 'Thank you for your kindness...I will always remember where I have friends.' Right before he left though, an elderly man begged him to find his grand daughter who was supposedly kidnapped. Etzam found her easily, but in a witch's arms. The witch told him she would let the child go free if Etzam would have dinner with her. They came to an agreement and Etzam listened to what the witch had to say. She spoke of a way to become more powerful and gave him a book in return for most of his money. He agreed hesitantly. But what could go wrong from a book? As he left with the girl, the witch cackled about humans' foolishness when it comes to power. Etzam was thanked for his kindness in finding the girl and the village allowed him one more day of services for free. When he was alone in his room, he opened the book and studied about demons. The book offered good information, but not near the whole information about demons. Etzam made an oath that night with a demon only to find he was cursed with a lurking darkness in his body and in his conscience. Etzam immediately left the village in the middle of night feeling a destructive power running through his body. He ran and ran, then burned the book and threw the burnt remainings into a lake. Since then, he's been looking for ways to overcome this power. Over time he was able to gain more control and feels more comfortable around people, but never wants to get close to anyone just in case. He never wants anyone to end up like his brother, especially by his own fault.
