Name:
Uhtgard
Race:
Human-Construct
Age:
202
Appearance:
Uhtgard is just over seven feet tall and weights over three hundred pounds. His is, however, not fat but rather made out of metal. His body is a metallic construct which houses his human soul. There are rustic markings covering his body and many places, especially around the joints, are beginning to rust. He essentially looks like a walking suit of full plate armor with a metal head which sometimes oozes a blue fluid (which is used to lubricate the joints).
Personality:
Uhtgard is usually a calm, calculating warrior who, when in battle, occasionally gets taken in by his blood lust and begins to slaughter any and all foes or perceived foes which come in close proximity with him. His construct body runs on food as fuel and the artificer has allowed for taste to continue through magical receptors in the mouth so that Uhtgard can still enjoy food. Outside of combat, Uhtgard keeps a level head when making decisions and leading troops but does have a disposition towards ales and frequently gets drunk whereupon he is prone to becoming angry and sometimes, when excessively inebriated, becomes rash and violent. He prefers being on a boat in the ocean rather than on land where he feels the ground beneath him is uneasy and swaying. His is also arrogant as he believes that he is the greatest warrior alive.
Powers and Weapons:
Uhtgard, being now a construct rather than a human, can perform feats of superhuman strength and also does not need
to sleep. He was originally trained to use a battle axe but now prefers a broadsword and has had over 150 years of battle-hardened training with it. He has no innate magical talents.
Brief History:
He was born on an island which at the age of five was raided by Northmen. Uhtgard, whose actual name is Thomas, was taken by the Northmen and brought back to their capital where he was raised as one of their own. At the age of ten he was trained with a battle axe and by the age of thirteen had gone on his first raid. He developed a fierce rival within the clan and they both tried to best each other at every turn. At the age of seventeen, during both of their first raids as captains of their own ships, Uhtgard's rival bested him with such bravado that Uhtgard and his honor were put to shame. Uhtgard, in a desperate attempt to become great, had a sorcerer summon a powerful demon and Uhtgard made a deal with it; he was to become a powerful warrior in exchange for his soul upon death. Uhtgard then began to sail the world with his crew searching for the most powerful warriors in all of the world to fight and eventually best with his superior might. However, as Uhtgard began to age and become old he could feel the weight of his deal and began to grow paranoid of losing his soul and never reaching the Warrior Corpsehall. He found an artificer who could transpose his soul into a construct and thus live forever so long as he was never defeated. After one hundred years of his metallic immortality, the demon, wanting the soul for his own machination, began to employ other demons to find and kill Uhtgard. Thus, Uhtgard has been pursued by demonic assassins for the last twenty-three years and without being able to rest and repair himself, Uhtgard's metallic body is beginning to rust and decay.
