After looking around, his attention drew to the rather odd and brightly splattered painting which hung over the faerie's fireplace. Needless to say, it seemed to summarize her rather loud personality which he had gotten from her in the matter of moments in which he met her. Taking a step forward, until he was right in front of the painting, he stared at it. Colours always attracted him. Why? He had no idea. But he noticed that it brought him a sense of ease of some sort, as if the colours made his mind at ease. It really was odd, especially for him.
But, snapping out of his daydream, Kit came back to reality as her voice rang through his ears. Blinking a few times, as his weariness came back once more, he gave a soft laugh, seeing the pot which covered her eyes. She was rather odd. When she mentioned 'dinner', his stomach giving a loud and very long groan at the thought of eating, something that nearly seemed a luxury these past 24 hours.

Denidra laughed outright. "Guess that answers that question. Come on, get in here!" Not bothering to remove the pot from her head, she spun around and flittered back into the kitchen.
Jarrah couldn't keep from laughing, either. And actually, now that he thought about it, it had been almost two days since he ate anything himself. But because he had been so on edge with the hunters, he didn't notice his own hunger until just now.
Motioning for Kit to follow, he wandered into the other room to find the faerie flying around the cupboards digging out bowls and such. Almost immediately he could smell her famous beef stew that she loved to make. Perhaps she was a walking disaster in the kitchen, but she could out-cook the best chefs any day.
As Denidra flew back over to the pot on the stove, he practically snatched the bowls from her and winked. "Better let me do that. You'll have half of it on the floor before you're done." Joking around was about the only way he knew how to hide his weariness from her - and he had to admit, she was fun to pick on.
Denidra opened her mouth to offer a retort while the medic started dishing out the food. But then she changed her mind. Instead she removed the pot from her head and dropped it over his with a wide smirk. Maybe a little goofing around would convince Kit it was okay to loosen up while he was here.

As she laughed, his cheeks turned a very dark red in embarrassment. Wrapping his scrawny hands around his stomach, as if to stop the loud growling, he looked towards Jarrah, who was already walking into, what he presumed to be, the kitchen. So, after a few seconds as he regained his pride in himself, he followed the two of them, and was thankful he did as within seconds he was surrounded by the aroma of something delicious, something which made his mouth water.
Then, hearing a 'crash' sound, he broke from his daydream, which involved lots and lots of food, he looked around until he found the source. It seemed they had some sort of disagreement as Denidra has just dropped the pot which was on her head on Jarrah's head. Wincing slightly at the thought, he couldn't help but suddenly break into laughter. It had been a while since he had laughed like this, a true laugh, not a fake one. It made his side and cheeks hurt, and he covered his mouth with his hands, although he still laughed into them. Bending forward, he tried to tone it down, and so was left with snickers. Perhaps it was because of the lack of sleep and food that made him laugh so loudly. Like a child.

Denidra's antics caught the medic off guard, and he was ready to offer playful retaliation once he recovered from the "attack." He only got as far as tipping the pot so he could see before he heard Kit's reaction to the scene. Glancing at the lad, Jarrah had to laugh a little himself, and it wasn't long before the faerie joined in. Maybe Denidra's methods were somewhat...unorthodox, but she had her ways of convincing the most uptight of folks to loosen up.
That was the trait that made her so likable, despite her occasionally overbearing personality.
Jarrah quickly pulled himself together before the situation degenerated into complete silliness, removing the pot from his head and setting it aside. He filled one of the bowls and set it on the small table in the middle of the room, then waved for Kit to come over and sit down. Since Denidra lived alone, the table was small with only two chairs, but the medic didn't plan on sitting down, anyway. If he did he couldn't guarantee he'd get up again.
The faerie fluttered over to the nearer of the chairs, bowl in hand, smile a mile wide. "Kit, right? So tell me, how'd you end up stuck with this knucklehead here?" she asked, pointing over her shoulder towards Jarrah. Though she was mostly just picking on the medic, part of her was genuinely curious. The guy always came here by himself - he never brought anyone with him. After all, she knew he made it a point to avoid people whenever he could. Going against that was practically taboo for him.

Taking deep breaths in order to try and regain himself, he straightened himself and wiped away the tears that had come to his eyes from laughing, which was what usually happened when Kit laughed after months, if not years, of laughing.
His nose twitched as the smell of the stew made its way back into his nose, having forgotten about the food through his laughing session. And then, to see it on the table, he couldn't help himself as he practically ran to it. Usually he would have been shy, especially since there was only 2 chairs and he would have persisted for Jarrah to sit down, but at that moment, his hunger was too much and he was only focused on eating. Once he sat down, he took the bowl and proceeded to practically shove it down his throat, but stopped quickly as the stew almost burned his throat, since it was still piping hot. So, wincing as the very hot food made its way down his throat, he then slowed down, and when he raised another sthingyful, he made sure to blow on it before putting it into his mouth, to which he chewed slowly, enjoying the taste.
"Mphm?" Speaking with his mouth full, he stopped himself, and swallowed before he began to answer, not after licking off some sauce which had fallen onto his fingers.
"Ah, well, it was coincidence I suppose. I met him in a tavern in a nearby village..." Not really wanting to go into detail about the fight, as he didn't like to tell people who he had just met straight off the bat that he was an elemental controller, he decided not to mention it for now.

[[sorry for the wait...and short post... i blame brain deadness and school XD but i don't wanna hold it up anymore]]
The faerie quirked an eyebrow when she heard that. A tavern? Really? Last time she checked, the medic wasn't exactly fond of those kinds of places. Glancing towards the older man she asked, "Since when the heck did you start frequenting taverns?"
Jarrah wasn't sure how to answer that one without causing Denidra to run off at the mouth about how she thought he was mishandling his entire situation. So he only shrugged with his usual grin before turning his attention back to this bowl of stew, leaning back against the counter. He didn't doubt she would eventually figure out the truth, anyway. She usually did - and if the look she shot him was any indication, she already knew. But he didn't feel up to warding off any lectures, so he said nothing. Knowing the faerie, she wouldn't discuss it in front of a stranger, either.

[[ It's all good C: I can understand when RL holds you back, so take your time! ]]
Deciding to remain silent as Denidra shot glares at Jarrah, he turned his head down to the food, and proceeded to eat it, taking slow chews to let the flavours sink into his tastebuds, which were dancing as it had been some time since Kit had eaten a proper meal.
Having finished after a couple of minutes, Kit leant back on his chair, pushing back the empty bowl. Letting out a content sigh, he pushed back his dirty bangs and gave a smile towards the faerie, saying with the gratitude clear in his voice.
"Thanks for the meal, I haven't eaten something that good in years." He then rubbed his stomach, scratching it in random places. It was so warm in here that he felt drowsy. And as he thought how drowsy he was, he got even more drowsy until eventually his eyes closed themselves and he fell straight asleep. Of course, because he was leaning back on his chair, he fell backwards and came to a crash on the floor. But, this did not wake him. In fact, it just made him snore as he moved around the floor until he was in a comfortable heap.

Jarrah didn't pay much attention to anything around him until he heard the loud clatter. Initially he flinched at the racket, but then he started laughing quietly when he saw what had happened. Denidra had to bury her face in her arms on the table to keep herself relatively quiet.
She managed to pull herself together after a moment and flittered into the other room. She came back with a blanket as the medic took care of the dishes and draped it over the boy. Neither of them wanted to bother moving him - though the medic doubted it would have awakened him. Being quite weary himself, he wandered to the back porch with little more than a quick wave to the faerie to let her know he was headed outside.
Sitting on the steps, leaning against the railing, Jarrah spent quite a bit of time staring out at the darkness of the woods surrounding Denidra's place. He was trying to decide when he should sneak away in the morning - but at some point he drifted off to sleep himself without realizing. He was still sitting up by the time the faerie found him, to which she simply shook her head with a grin and headed back inside for the night.

Feeling somewhat safe as he slept, Kit fell into a very deep sleep, which he usually did if he ever felt even the tinniest bit of safety. As he fell deeper and deeper into his slumber, he began to dream. At first they were happy, with him performing his tricks to a happy crowd who threw him coins and bills into his tattered hat. He did feel bad at times for how much he wanted to have more and more money, but hey, he had to live and to live was to have money. Then the dream shifted forward into something different. Now he was in a field, a beautiful field of flowers. Usually he wouldn't pay too much mind to something like this, but in his dream he did. He twirled and laughed as he ran threw the flowers, the heat of the sun warming his back. He was then joined by a beautiful girl with long blonde hair. She too began to spin and laugh, running ahead of Kit. His feet began to move on their own as he began to run after her, calling out to her to wait as he found that was getting further and further away. And just as he was about to reach for her golden hair, the dream shifted once more. Now, this dream was a lot darker. He recognized the house where he stood as his own. This was not good, as any dream he had of this house usually led to his parents. And lo and behold, as he turned around, there they stood. He almost screamed until he realized that they were not bloody. There were sitting at the table, eating dinner. He was there as well, a lot younger. He still recognized his blonde hair and chubby face. This scene caused tears to whell up in his eyes and drip down. Even though he made no sound, his parents turned around and smiled, pointing to the empty chair which was at the table. He smiled but shook his head, feeling that he shouldn't sit with them. It was if he were being tested right now, or something like that. They seemed sad at his response, but they still smiled and waved. Little Kit waved too, saying in his baby voice. "Bye bye!" Gasping and shooting up into a sitting position, he panted, finding himself short of breath. Wiping his forehead, he found himself to be drenched in sweat. Oh fantastic. Picking himself up off the floor, picking up the blanket which he folded and laid on the table, he stretched out his achy limbs and took off his shirt, which was also drenched in sweat. Man, he had to stop so much during dreams like those, he only had so many clothes with him. Walking towards the sink, he ran the cold water, and after filling his hands with the cold liquid he splashed it onto his face several times and also his chest to try and rid himself of some of the sweat. Then putting his head under the tap, he stayed there for several minutes, closing his hands and taking slow breaths as he focused on listening to the water running down his hair.

By this time in the morning, Denidra had already been up for awhile, tending to the few horses in the stalls behind her house. She had no real reason for owning such animals, aside from the fact she was fond of them. That, and having something to take care of made it a lot less lonely to live by herself. One would think a petite faerie would have a bit of difficulty handling animals more than twice her size. Yet somehow she managed to get things done.
After letting the horses out to graze, she wandered back towards the house. Jarrah, surprisingly, was still sound asleep at his spot on the back steps. Denidra thought about waking him up but soon changed her mind. Though he hadn't spoken of it since their arrival, she had a hunch the medic's situation hadn't changed. And if that was the case, she didn't have the heart to bother him.
Instead, she quietly made her way around him and into the house. Spotting the boy over at the sink, she couldn't keep from chuckling to herself as she remembered the way he had fallen asleep the night before. Overall, though, her general demeanor was relatively calm and collected compared to the previous day as she spoke up. "Morning, Kit."

Hearing the water did manage to calm him. In fact, it was very soothing and brought him back to the summer a few years ago where he had done so well in his busking that he had bought some much food and had lived beside a waterfall, where the same sound was to be heard. Those were happy times.
So, being so long in his memories, when he heard a voice he jumped up, banging his head off the tap quite hard, causing him to bend over, clenching his scalp as he moaned from the pain. Then, seeing who it was, he yelped, reaching for his shirt and held it in front of him. Why he did this, he had absolutely no idea, and when he realized what he was doing his face went a cherry red and he began to laugh awkwardly, shaking his head causing water droplets to fly everywhere. Then he replied in a breathless voice.
"H-Hi! G-good morning um. . ." Backtracking to find out what her name was, he replied back a few seconds later.
"D-Denidra! Yes, good m-morning. . .!"

She flinched when she heard the crack of the boy's head coming in contact with the tap. That alone was enough to make her own head ache. Now that she thought about it, maybe sneaking up on him hadn't been such a good idea.
This time she resisted the urge to laugh at Kit's antics and simply smiled at his obvious embarrassment and awkwardness. Despite her tendency to be bouncy and goofy to convince another to relax, this time she didn't want to make too much noise and risk waking the medic asleep on her back porch. She knew Jarrah didn't sleep well on the road, what with having to constantly be on the lookout for his pursuers. If he wouldn't let her help him out any other way, she could at least allow him to get a decent rest while he was here.
Deciding not to remark on the teen's reaction to her presence, she instead grabbed the blanket from the table and wandered towards the next room to put it away, easy smile in place the entire time. "You can call me Deni if you want, hon," she said as she passed. Calling from the other room she added, "You want some breakfast? I can see what I can scrounge up."

After his shaky reply, he felt tempted to bury his head into his shirt. This was the first time in a while he had been so embarrassed, and all he wanted now was the earth to just swallow him. However, seeing that she didn’t laugh made him relax slightly. And as she smiled, he couldn’t help but give a small smile back. Her calm demeanour, as if this was something normal to happen in her house, a shirtless idiot banging his head off her tap and acting like an idiot, did help him in not doing more stupid things. Once the word ‘breakfast’ came up, his stomach growled, causing his cheeks to turn red once more. With another awkward laugh, he scratched the back of his head as he replied.
“T-That would be lovely. Thank you..D-Deni.” Stuttering on her nickname, he smiled again, though he knew that she couldn’t see it since she was in the other room. But that didn’t stop him.
Feeling himself shiver, Kit then remembered that he was still shirtless with wet hair. Throwing on his shirt over his head, he shook his head a few more times in an attempt to dry his hair, which was growing too long for his taste, before he sheepishly followed Deni into the other room.
