Name: Deraj
Age: Unknown (appears 19)
Race: Human
Physical Description: One could just look into his steel gray eyes and tell that he had seen more than a man should while maintaining his sanity. It is also unsettling to note in that same moment that he enjoys it immensely.
He is 5’ 11” tall and weighs around 175lbs but he gives off a presence of being much bigger. When he walks in a room people notice and are typically afraid without really knowing why.
Deraj has wide shoulders and has an athletic build but usually doesn’t take advantage of it. He is healthy enough to travel. He is definitely no warrior but could defend himself to an extent if necessary. However he would be in trouble if put against a more skilled fighter without his magic.
At first glance, he appears young but something about him gives a different impression. Perhaps it is the dark rings around his eyes or his pale skin. He appears youthful but something about him feels tired, ancient, and primal. He has high cheekbones and very prominent and strong facial features.
He carries himself with the mien of a lord. This is not in the sense that he expects entitlement but in the sense that he is master of himself and his belongings.
He has brown hair and prefers to keep it short. He does not worry about hairstyle necessarily but he keeps it presentable. He keeps it out of his way but has a certain frontier charm about him. He wears a simple silver crown. He prefers to be clean-shaven but normally has some uniform stubble.
He likes to dress well but practically. If one saw him, they wouldn’t guess he was a mage. He is usually seen wearing and a silver antique suit of plate armor and a hooded red cape. He carries a longsword at his side of the same age and style as the armor but prefers to use his magic.
Personality: He is proud. This is not the kind of blatant pride that most possess but a much subtler and malign trait. He does not do things for praise. This is the kind of pride that would exist with or without others. Some actually confuse his reserved nature with humility but this is not the case.
He desires power but has no desire to have dominion over others. As part of this, he also desires knowledge.
However he is a man of integrity. He is always the same, whether in the presence of a or a hobo.
Most would say that he is a bit jaded. His disdain and general loss of hope in man is one part of why he went the way of the dark arts. He does not generally like people but in a sense, he loves them. He has a soft spot for children or at least those that society hasn’t beaten that divine spark out of yet. Also he does not like to see women or children cry. He is fond of animals and they seem to be fond of him.
He generally good natured and helpful but is known to be a sarcastic and a little gritty.
Strengths: He is all will and does everything within his power to get what he wants. However even his strong will doesn’t seem to be enough to cheat death entirely or keep his body together as he becomes a lich.
He is quick of wit and is good at assessing situations.
He can talk with the dead and grant them temporary unlife to do his bidding. He can summon storms and control the elements to an extent. As his body dies, his power over the elements becomes greater but harder to control.
Weaknesses: Where he is now on the path to lichdom, he is in the process of dying. He is becoming increasingly sensitive to light and grows weaker by the day. It is becoming harder and harder to hide the fact that he should be in the grave.
Things that heal have less and less effect. He has not yet reached that breaking point where he is all dead. Where he is stuck in that horrible limbo between life and unlife, there is little that can be done for him.
When he isn’t busy being all lichy, he isn’t usually the quickest in a fight. He prefers momentum and power over agility and barrage attacks.
He chose to use an heirloom necklace as his phylactery and he wears it around his neck but usually has it tucked under his armor. If this were to be destroyed, he soul would flee to whatever place in the next life awaited him.
