Mason was dreaming, but to him it felt so real. He was standing in a field, the stalks of grain swaying in the breeze. He could see endlessly into the distance, and the sky above and all things around him were now orange. Suddenly smoke began to rise in the distance, and flames spouted up above the horizon. The fire grew and grew, inching closer and closer to him. When he realized what was happening, he struggled to move but found that he couldn't. He looked down to see himself bound to a stake, kindling around the base. He looked around worriedly, but the flames were spreading faster. All of the trees around the field were on fire, and the fire blazed up the field. The kindling caught, and the fire spiraled up the stake. He closed his eyes tightly, waiting. He felt no pain. He felt no flame. He slowly opened an eyelid, which he found to be much heavier, and saw that he was looking up at Yua's face. He was in the shelter and it was morning. "What... What happened?" He asked warily.

She tilted her head curiously when he began to stirr. She didnt know what happen so she didnt answer. She gave a cute yawn and just purred. She was tired he had been moving about in his sleep, and nearly took out the shelter a few times. She looked at the now dead fire. She was using him more or less as a heater.

He looked into her eyes and realized she must not have an answer. He tilted his head and looked out of the shelter and saw the coals nearly extinguished. To his own surprise, he reached out and hugged her tightly, his chin on her shoulder.

She tenced, bristling, but relaxed. He was warm, she was happy. Though soon she did bite him. Sharp teeth peircing into the flesh of his shoulder. her Guardian was a dragon she knew how to get past scales and much other armors.

Shade arched his back and growled loudly in pain. He rolled over and grasped his shoulder, blood flowing over his hands. "WHY DID YOU BITE ME?!" he boomed in a low voice. He still didn't even know why he hugged her, but she could have just left him. He winced and quaked in agony on the floor of the shelter.

She moved away from him, hissing at him abit than spitting blood off to the side. She eyed him some than frowned. She moved back over, than to the wound, licking it apologeticly. It was a reflex realy, delayed yes, but a reflex none the less.
She sat back abit, reaching to her feathers and plucky on, pointing to the blue dust than his wound.

He cringed slightly as he felt her tongue but eventually began to relax. His mind was still spinning at light speed. He couldn't open his eyes, the pain was too great, and as he leaned on his elbow, another shock of pain shot through him. He turned over and growled in pain again, a tear dropping from his eye.

She blinked, putting the dust into her hand and pressing it to the wound. It would numb at first, than just quicken the healing process. The wound begining to stitch together really. She backed off some, sitting there on her legs. Feeling guilty for her deed.

Shade froze for a second as the dust went to work, and then sat up, still holding his shoulder. He watched the horizon as the sun rose and sighed as the sky turned pink.

She curled back up in the leaves. Pretty much avoiding conversation. Tired still, not to mention hungery too. Though because of the wintery season, not much food could be found.

Shade stood up slowly and let go of his shoulder. He turned his head and looked at her over his shoulder, then looked down. He walked off in the snow, making small crunching sounds.

She peeked out curious now. Than fallowed, though jumped abit at each step because of the cold ice. Than stoped and whined retreating into the shelter.

Shade trudged off into the distance and after a while he stopped, turning back. The shelter was now a small speck. He walked away and into the forest for some time, and again stopped. He needed to find some food, she was no doubt .

She shivered some, the fire was out by now. She lost interest in staying, thinking he had simply left. She left as it grew cold. So when he returned she had vanished. Quite a ways off she had collapsed in the snow. The thin layer that fell hidding most of her. Her paper white skin and feathers doing the rest.

When Shade returned, he saw she was gone. He dropped all of the logs and set the food down quickly. He whipped around and saw nothing. Shade ran around in circles and still couldn't see her anywhere. After he reached the bottom of the hill, he looked around and gave up. She'd left. As he was trudging back to the shelter, he heard something. The wind was blowing, but he heard a rustling sound and looked around, seeing some feathers blowing in the snow. He ran over as fast as he could and slid over on his knees. He dug at the snow and found her unmoving and cold. He frantically ran back, setting her next to the firepit and blowing on the logs to get it going. He was holding her in his arms with his wings wrapped around them when he felt her stirring.
