When Raine heard his name, she almost fell off Vexxus.
So it is him..... Her mind began to shut down, the thought of seeing him again seemed to make her uneasy.
What am I doing here? I am a fool...

Before Raine could run away however, they reached the inside of the gate and into the courtyard. "I see.....Deraj..huh.." Her voice was almost in a whisper. She quickly opened her eyes once more and looked ahead of her.

[deraj]

Ah, my faithful knights return with….what’s this! When he saw the girl riding upon the beautiful white wolf he was stunned. The mysterious vibrations only increased with their approach. This was all too familiar. He was filled with strange feelings and thoughts that he did not want to deal with. He turned on his heels and ran back inside.

Alfonso quickly appeared behind him. “What would you have me do with them, my lord?”

He jumped from surprise and scrambled about for words. “Assemble the court and, um, see them in.” He suddenly regretted sending them out to find her. Was that girl really Vexxus? I felt too relieved when I saw that wolf. None of this makes any sense. He rushed to his throne to collect his thoughts before everyone had assembled.

[Vexxus]

She felt Raine jump at the mention of Deraj, but didn't have time to ask about it before spotting him. Her mind was filled once again with the emotions and affection for him.

Raine dismounted, and Vexxus returned to her original form. Several members of the court gathered and beckoned them to follow. They led them into the great hall, where a magnificent throne held the young noble Deraj. Vexxus was not taken with the magnificent structure just yet, as all of her thoughts converged on her lost companion. The moment she saw him sitting there, she began walking briskly, tears forming in her eyes.

The long hall put a great distance between them, and only heightened the suspense of their reuniting. She was about a quarter of the way there when he stood.

[laraine]

It is him...

Raine watched as Vexxus ran to Deraj, her own emotions becoming weaker and weaker.

What should I do? What should I say?

She stood there, feeling more or less like a statue. Finally she willed her feet to move. She walked towards the two, her face lacking any emotion.

[deraj]

From the moment they entered the hall, he could not take his eyes from her. It didn’t seem odd at all that she was not among the party that had come in with his knights. Deraj then felt a satisfaction that he did not before think possible. He felt as though he were once again whole. He knew then that he never wanted to be away from this angelic being ever again. He was so overtaken by the beauty of everything that he could not speak or move as she ran forward.

[Vexxus]

Vexxus was a little confused as to why he was not advancing, but she continued walking, faster, then running, as fast as her now rather cumbersome dress would allow.

Tears choked her voice, and though she could not verbalize it, her whole being was screaming for him, calling his name. In a fraction moment of benign idiocy she thought to herself, This hall is much too long!!

[laraine]

Raine watched the two for a bit, deciding to not interfere until their reunion was done. It was hard to stand still like this. But she didnt have much of a choice.

All I know is, I'm pissed off.. she thought to herself. I thought he was a kind person, but he abandoned me after all I did for him...

She crossed her arms across her chest and sighed. But as she did, her vision began to swim. Her head was getting foggy and she tried to keep on her feet.

Not good, I wasn't lying when I said I hadn't eaten anything. I think I'm reaching my limit.

[deraj]

He remained seated as she advanced, now running. Deraj directed thought out to Alfonso but where he before had no need to conceal his thoughts, he might as well have been speaking aloud.

“Who is this divine creature that is so eager to see me?”

Alfonso spoke aloud, “Your Excellency and members of His royal court, may I introduce Lady Vexxusaria Reixaia and Lady Raine.”

Both advanced and he noticed that the angelic being in the white dress had begun to cry. Unable to endure the sight of suffering in another, he arose from his throne and went to her. “Why do you cry? One who possesses such grace and beauty should have no reason to cry.” He embraced her.

He then looked to his other guest and saw that she was beginning to lose her balance. While still holding Vexxus, he thought at Alfonso, “What plagues this one?“

Alfonso discreetly thought at Deraj, “I believe she is sire.”

Deraj thought back at Alfonso, “What is to be ?”

[Vexxus]

“Why do you cry? One who possesses such grace and beauty should have no reason to cry.”

“What plagues this one?“



Vexxus clung to Deraj, her tears falling on his crimson cape. ...He....something's not right... She pulled away slightly, and looked into his eyes. Swallowing hard, she managed to speak.

"Deraj....I...I never thought I'd see you again..."

[laraine]

Raine looked at Deraj and frowned.
What's wrong with him, I expected him not to speak to me, but he doesn't seem to even recognize Vexxus....What's going on here? As for me..

"I'm fine, I just need something to eat soon is all. Enjoy your reunion." She smiled confidently. She managed to stay standing for a while longer, her strength overcoming her hunger.

Its the least I can do for Vexxus showing me this place.

She looked around, as if to study the structure of the building. Although she slowly began to realize something as she looked around.

Why would Deraj be in a place like this anyways?

[deraj]

Her tears fell hot on his neck. She pulled away. Vexxus gazed into his deep grey eyes and he into her majestic sapphire eyes. She said something but he was too overcome from the shock of even that small distance from her that he pulled her close again and whispered in her ear, “I never want to be separated from you again.” He too found that he was beginning to cry. He was in rapture.

[Vexxus]

“I never want to be separated from you again.”

She smiled, and eagerly returned his embrace. She turned, wiped her face, and spoke to Raine. "I'm sorry, we need to get you something to eat...It slipped my mind that he would not have anything, as he does not eat..." She turned to Deraj. "Come, let's find something for her. Perhaps a wild rabbit or deer?" She walked briskly to Raine, as she looked as if on the verge of collapse. "Here," She pulled her dress up to reveal a pair of cropped pants, and a belt to which was fastened a small bag. She untied it, opened it, and handed it to Raine. "These biscuits should hold you until we return." She offered an outstretched hand to Deraj, beckoning him.

Turning to one of the nearby members of the court, she asked. "Will you please find her a place to sit, and rest?"

[laraine]

Raine took the biscioits she offered and smiled at her. "I'm glad you found your friend again Vexxus, thanks again for this." She said, holding out the food. She started to eat, while one of the members of the court found her a place to sit down for a while. She waved at the two and watched as they left. She followed the member of the court and they managed to find her a chair in a nearby room. As she sat down, she pondered what to do next.

I really am a idiot. Why did I come here? It seems he's got someone now. Even if he doesn't remember me, isn't it better this way? Besides, its not as if I really liked him or anything. Right. As soon as I gain my strength back, it will be time to move on.


Meanwhile, deep in the forest something stirred. A dark force of 20, leading them a older woman with a sadistic smile, eyes the color of blood and hair the shade of someone very familiar. She smirked, "When that girl dares to come out...kill her.." she ordered her demons.

He was confused by what Vexxus was saying. What does it mean to eat and what do deer or rabbits have to do with it? He shrugged and was happy to take her hand as they wandered through the castle and back outside.

[Vexxus]

Vexxus and Deraj were outside in very little time.

"Shall we?" Vexxus smiled, and while one of her hands was in Deraj's, the other was slowly disappearing into the shadow realm. It would have appeared that she was dissolving, as it was if she was dissipating and blending in with the canvas that was the world around them. It started at her fingertips, then worked it's way to her hand, then her arm. Soon the right side of her face and shoulder were gone.
