Fleeter had always preformed little deeds of mischief. It was what his kind, the Rustic Coon did. He surprised travelers, scared children, (but also played with them,) he also fled from warriors bent on killing every monster in their path. He had the ability to use petty magic, but the most of the time, he merely used invisibility and a handful of fire.
Since he was a weak monster it was he had always been cautious. Those who weren't cautious got killed, and they were killed by aspiring adventurers as young as 14-- if they were determined enough. But most of them were seen as rodents, pests, and thus were handled with expert care. By those who easily swung massive swords, or even impatient larger monsters who didn't like the chatter boxes that they tend to be at times. Though sometimes he and his kind were thought of as cute, it wasn't enough today to keep him from thinking of how short his puny life was.
What was the point in making jokes that annoyed people? Wasn't that the reason why his kind were dying left to right? If we stopped, would they stop attacking us? He didn't really seek answers to these questions. In fact he was searching for an answer for a bigger question. Sad part was, he didn't even know what the question was.
He looked at people doing their own business, shopping, buying, trading, selling, riding horses, slaying monsters, capturing criminals, playing with toys, camping, chatting, and more. All he had been doing all his life was making jokes where he could and disappear if it got too dangerous. He was missing out on life, and he knew as a petty monster his luck would give out. He looked again at the people from atop a tree next to a building in town, and wondered how... he could fit in.
There was a store that had a toy shop. It was strange because though he, rats, other monsters, and vicious animals were negative to humans, they and other bad creatures like bears were still represented as toys and were played with. He became invisible and snatched one of them shaped like a Rustic Coon, and hid back in the tree. He looked at it and thought that maybe he could pretend to be a stuffed animal. The toy he held looked a lot like him, and though the toy was a feet tall, and he was three feet tall, he knew there were toys just as big as he was.
As an attempt to become closer to the people, he turned invisible, and sat in a spot where other three feet tall, large animals and monster plush were displayed and sat along with them. As long as he kept his hood tightly closed, they surely wouldn't be able to tell he was alive. For he was light like a pillow, and his costume was obviously sewn as well. It wasn't like all Rustic Coon toys showed the face. No one would know he was real. He stayed limp, hoping something new and interesting would happen.http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo37/Ahrenri/scan2-1-1.jpg -

Hollow wondered into the small village, hood up looking around to see if anyone was watching him as it was kinda hard not to miss a figure clothed in a green hooded tunic ,short trousers and welding an blade the same size as the figure just slug over his left shoulder. Hollow stood out like a sore thumb almost and he knew it he takes cover in a small ally as a trade wagon passes before long he pops out of the ally and make way for an inn. As quick as he enter he was thrown out the owner shouts out "we don't sever your kind here" and turns his back. Hollow sighed, stood up and brushed himself down walked off on his was he makes a stop at the village well to quiche his thrust and wash his face. The smell of food catches him off guard as his stomach begin to rumble the smell came from the small market square he head of to the direction of food lead by his nose and sher hunger.
sure enough he came to a meat wagon selling all kind of fresh raw meats as well a dry-ed cooked meats he buys a leg of something big in size enough to feed a small family. Hollow continues to browse the stand and shops looking as wonders jewels, cloths, and nick knacks while sinking his fangs into the juicy tender flesh of the leg. He stops a what appears to be a toy shop outside there where stuffed toys of animals that he had seen on his travels but one he had not see before it was strange as he just stared at it taking another chunk of leg of meat and chewing at it. The owner came over and asked if he would like to purchase anything he thought to himself and said "sure why not, a souvenir" it would make a great gift for some he knew. he grabs at what he thought was a rat in clowns suit he pays for the item he quickly jams the stuffed toy into his bag and leaves the village licking his fingers and enjoying the rest of meat and nawing at the bone.
Wasn't too long before he came back to his camping spot and throw down his bag as a strange noise had came from it. he opens the top to pear in.

Fleeter kept his hood shut, so that any facial movements would not be detected by passerbys. The man must have known it looked something like a rat, by other toys with the same costume. Even if the man thought that the hood could open, the seal would keep him from doing so just in case he got curious enough to open it. Fleeter watched the man eventually purchase him from the red eyes of the suit. The suit eye slits themselves weren't open to where someone could poke his eye, or even see it, but the suit was magical enough for one way sight from the inside. The man put the 3 feet creature into a large bag and set off with him.
Fleeter was surprised. Though he knew the town had creatures other than humans he assumed that he would be picked up by one. Fleeter was actually a bit scared, and was hoping that the man had a daughter or son that he would be giving the stuffed toy to. Since his kind and race was thought of as a nuisance, he didn't want to reveal that he was real only to be killed. He thought about this as he was carried along by the stranger.
When the man reached camp he tossed the bag. "Umpth." Fleeter said as he hit the floor, unable to contain his chatty mouth. Though the landing didn't hurt because most of the inside of his costume was fluff, but he had to mumble something as his hood gave way. He face planted onto the ground.
Fleeter was suddenly struck with panic as he felt the man reaching for the bag and checking it. Fleeter made sure to stay limp and made sure his hood was sealed tight to conceal his weasel appearance. Maybe he would just think he is imagining things. He knew he would be stuck to this man, atleast for a while. The man didn't head for a home, but rather a camp site. Maybe he didn't have his own kids at all... Maybe he was a traveler and didn't know his kind as a pest... Fleeter tightened his lips behind his strange hood.

Hollow reached into the bag to find what might be causing the noise pulling out every item in there, from books, writing equipment, bedding and varies bit and pieces form his travels. Lastly the strange stuffed animal he sets it aside with everything else he pulled out he mutters to himself "ah must be hearing things." Hollow picks out a book from the pile and opens a case containing writing quills and ink he begin to write today event in the book pausing at almost every word he wrote to re-ink the quill. hollow leave the book open do dry he rubs his eyes and casts them over to the stuffed animal so still it stood not even moving. Yet emitting a strong smell to Hollow
Hollow laughs at his thought of it been alive but questioned himself after laughing, he shakes his head and rubs his eyes once more to remove the tired glaze in his eyes. He examines the figure, nothing he had seen before he sighs and talks to the animal as if it was alive because of how tired hollow was "if you were alive then maybe you'll tell me what you are, i am sure she'll like you anyway." As he pokes it stomach as he begins to drift off to sleep.

It was a good thing FM had a lot of fluff between the costume's belly and his real one. Or else he would have bursted a chuckled. Fleeter was happy when he mentioned something about a female. Surely there was going to be more people to meet if he stayed with this person. He started to wonder if toys could think for themselves, and if they felt the same way he did right now. When the stranger dozed off to sleep, he decided that he could move. He made a silent exhale, as it was a struggle to keep still for so long, even if there was wiggle room in his costume to keep the toy illusion.
He went over to and analyzed the figure that bought him. He appeared to be part monster of some kind. Fleeter thought for a moment, with his hand under his chin. He thought to himself, 'Was it called a dragon? He's part dragon, maybe?' A second later he realized that dragons were also known as pests to humans. The big, nasty and mean ones anyways. He wondered if the man that bought him struggled as he did.
Fleeter recalled the book he was writing in. He didn't have much to do pretending he was a toy, so all he could do was watch his surroundings. Humans wrote things about their struggles and lives, and until now Fleeter didn't understand why. But now he did, it was because the people reading it want someone to relate to. Maybe this man wrote about his struggles... He lightly hopped in a floating manner back to where he tossed the book. He floated because he wanted to remove some of his stored up mana from resting for so long-- and he didn't want to get caught. He sat down, and tried to open the book and read it. But then he realized he never learned how to read.

Hollow become restless in his sleep a few mumbles of no now and again he claims down saying a females name during his sleep. He jumped up in a zombie like state riffing through the clutter on the floor for a water casket open and drinking the complete contains. Looking over as a figure by the book he wrote in moments ago he rubs his eye's it's the figure that he bought earlier. "what the hell." as hollow rubs his eyes again "who and what are you." in a miserable voice from beaning worn out.

Fleeter wanted to try one last time to see if standing still would fool him. He dropped the book from his standing possition and sat down in the generic teddy bear possition. He hood closed up again. The possition looked just like how the stranger left it before he fell asleep. Maybe he would decide that he was dreaming, but maybe not. It was still worth a shot.

Hollow rubbed his eye looking at the figure trying to stand still next the book had he had written in earlier. Hollow glares at the figure with his green eye pupil's enlarged capturing as much light as possible. The small camp site shrouded in dearness from the towering trees yet still sunshine break through the cracks of the trees. Hollow picked himself up and made his way over the the figure he sit down next to it "look there is no point in staying hidden any more. There's no way i am dreaming this as most of my sleep is filled wit my past or parts of it." as the half dragon grabs the figure tightly pealing back it's hood "So I'll say it again who and what the hell are you."
Now looking upon the creators eyes with his own wide, inquisitive, green eye's. Hollow face no intentions of harming or anger just little confused at the situation and the presents he now holds. He also grabs a pouch and flips the tab to revile it's contains some stale bread he offer some "here have something to eat at lest."

Though there was a seal to keep Fleeter's hood shut, he finally called it quits. As an outward sign to show his inner submission, the hood itself pulled back enough to reveal his face. It revealed a face much like a ferret's. Though, different in it's own ways. "You ain't gonna' hurt me are ya?" He said, with a slight hint of fear. Of course he wasn't going to tell a stranger who had intentions of killing him his name, so he asked to make sure. He was seen as a pest after-all. But maybe the stranger didn't know about his kind. If Fleeter truly thought that the stranger knew he was a pest, he would be out of there in a heart beat, but he was uncertain, and maybe he was also still curious about the contents of the book. The demon's eyes were ruby red. Very bright, yet without glowing. This color showed on the eyes of both the creature itself and its costume. When they looked into each other's eyes, the half-dragon's eyes reflected in his.

Hollow there as the figure asks if he he was going to hurt him Hollow sat there and burst into laughter "hurt you why would i do that." as he sinks his fangs into the hardened bread. Hollow lowers the figure down and lets go, he swallows the bite and asks once more "you ." offering the bread once more "I don't know what you are but your welcome to stay awhile it's nice to have someone to talk to you know." Hollow looks upward with his eye's closed and sighs.

'He doesn't know what I am, huh?' Fleeter said to himself in his head. Fleeter cracked a small grin of relief, baring a fang of his. Fleeter was a bit stiff at first, as if he was ready to take a hit, but now he let his shoulders come down, and he let his massive arms rest along side him. He looked down a bit, lost in thought for a moment, because he never felt at ease with someone who was rather human shaped. Fleeter looked back up at him, "The name's F.M.." He felt a bit bashful, actually. "It stands for Fleeting Mischief, but you can just call me Fleeter if you like." He made a small smile again. He never told anyone other that his own kind his name. But he felt there should be no reason to hold back with this man's company. He picked up the book that was beside him again, still curious about the contents.

Hollow take another bite out of the bread as the figure announces it name Hollow swallow the bite and wipe the crumbs "fleeter hey strange name but then again mine not so simple i am Hollow star." he sit pounding to himself and watches as fleeter tryed to work out how to open hollows journal. "interested in that book contains." he flicks open to show some poor penmanship as well as sketches "read if you like but it's not one pretty story." as he throws himself to his feet and stretches "It's hard to fit in isn't it." as he looks to the floor and sighs.

"Hard to fit in? How'd you know that was something I struggled with?" Fleeter asked, eying at the book. He looked at the sketches, but he didn't know how to appreciate art. When tried to read the parts with words he turned it upside down, left and right. "How do you read these things?" He asked curiously, referring to the letters. He had only learned watching his kind to play tricks as they did, and to summon magic as they did. There was no such thing as school, he and others merely played and mimicked actions. He scratched his head, a little frustrated with himself. He held the book down in front of him, and he looked up at Hollow Star, almost beckoning with his eyes for him to help him understand.

Hollow shrugs off the last thing he said and sat down explaining each letter sounding them out and showing fleeter the basics of putting a word together and sounding it out. hollow sit back and remembers how gramps use to teach him how to read and write and all the scolding he got for his mistakes. He quickly snaps to remembering fleeter and asking him to try and read the next sentence helping him sound out the words. "sorry just have alot on my mind right now. but you are a quick learner."

The small 3ft creature got up after a few tries of reading the sentences by himself, and fleeted from him a small ways away. Something about the whole situation was embarrassing for him. He covered his face with his hands bashfully, before shaking the red off of his face. But he was still so curious about the book, he hurried back in front of Hollow Star and sat in front of him. His child-like voice stated, "How-about you just read it to me, hmm?" He said, trying to keep from reading it himself. It made his head hurt, but at least now he knew how to put some sentences together. Inside he was relatively proud of himself.
