"Dorios," He said to himself. He got a his original shirt and over coat on, rugged with some cuts, he pulled two strings on his over coat, around his waist and two pieces of fabric fell down to his ankles. He looked at the woman, "My people where brilliant and making clothes," he said. He looked at himself in the reflection of a piece of glass, hung on the wall. Taking his knife, he cut some of his hair off, just at the shoulders. "When did this man, this black smith come to the village?" He asked, chucking the lock of hair out the window.
"Let us go meet the Black Smith," He said, heading, slowly towards the door.

She was impressed by the way the fabric of his clothing folded so neatly and fell so easily at the tug of a string. It was more than she had seen in the clothing of her own people.
"He didn't arrive all that long ago, no more than a week, I'd say," she replied to his question. When he started for the door so did she, patting her leg gently for the dog. "Come, Lorcan," she said softly, and the canine rose to follow at her heel. Then she spoke again to Balaudiui.
"I'll show you to the blacksmith, but you need to be careful with yourself. I don't want you overworking your injuries and making them worse," her voice took on the authority most healers held, disregarding title and strength.

He grabbed his axe, sword and shield before leaving the building. He nodded at her heeded warning as he walked out the door. He looked out at the small village, the people, ignorant and displeasing towards outsiders as he found when he came here. The question soon came to mind how long he's been here. "How long has it been since I was unconscious?" He asked. Slinging his shield around over his back and his sword around his waist. His axe he used as a walking stick for now.
As soon as he stepped onto the road, people around him immediately gave their thoughts on him. 'A barbarian'. Yet a wounded barbarian at that, using his axe as a walking stick. Not someone one sees every day. "Don't worry, I'm not going to strain myself, miss. My shield and sword way practically nothing.

She ignored the glares sent their way as they walked. Though they were more numerous now in the company of an outlander, they were the same she received from many, thankfully not all, but many of the villagers.
"You've been unconscious for about three days. You got here only three days after the smith," she didn't know exactly why he seemed so interested in the blacksmith, but thought perhaps he might think he knew the smith. Raevyn herself had only met the smith once in his time in town, but she remembered his loud personality, though he had seemed kind as well. After only a couple of minutes Raevyn pointed to the sign on one of the buildings closest to the center of the village. A hammer and anvil was depicted there, and from within came the heat and glow of a forge. Raevyn smiled when they reached the front room and called inside.
"Hello, Smith, I've got someone who wants to see you here."

Balaudiui soon heard a familiar voice, "Ah! Herbal girl! You're back, eh? Some one to see me?! Always love meeting new people!" A man boomed. A tall man, intimidating, came out, slightly covered in coal dust.
"Bala! Tou! Tou adio!!" He bellowed in a strange language.
"Dorios! Uediumi pissiumi tou!" Balaudiui replied.
"Balaudiui makauriui karnitu! Immi adio!" Dorios replied.
Both men shook their hands at the forearm and hugged, placing their other hand around, patting their backs. "Catoues caletoi urit namantas anrimius!" Balaudiui said, "Oh this is Raevyn."

She smiled at their greeting, though she understood not a word of what was spoken. Indeed she had been slightly intimidated by the smith when he had first arrived, but the intimidation was barely left after that first meeting with him. Certainly she was sure that he could be very dangerous, but it didn't seem to her that he was a cruel man.
She inclined her head slightly at the introduction, and remembered the word - name? - Balaudiui had whispered earlier; Dorias, was that the smith's name?

"Please do meet you again, miss Raevyn. Dorios Segomarius. Forgot to introduce myself properly before," Dorios looked over to Baludiui.
"Where did you go off to, during the battle?" Balaudiui asked.
"I was chasing someone into the woods. He killed me wife and Seuerim... My other daughter, Salania is probably with your son. So I chased him off into the woods, the coward he is..." He said, a tear starting to form at his cheek, "She was only five... What happened back at the village? Is there any more Helvets still alive?"
"Sadly, no. I'm the only one left. Well, till now," Balaudiui said, "even your father, Anareuiseos fell to his death."
"Fair... I'll see you later, Balaudiui. I got to get back to making a sword for one of them nobles as they call them. They want one like my grandfathers' because it looks and feels nice, they say," He said.
Heading off back to the healer's house, Balaudiui looked over at the woman and said. "Raeyna. We have to leave this town. It's in danger."

She waited while they finished their conversation, and then walked beside him back to her house. She looked up at him when he said they had to leave.
"You're not quite fit to travel yet, Balaudiui, give it just a couple more days," she told him. She remembered that he had said himself that the ones who attacked his community probably wouldn't attack again for a while, due to their lost fighters. When they reached her home she picked up the basket of dried and bundled herbs and the other few tools she had and took them inside to be set on a wooden bench beside the door.

"Fair enough. A couple more days," He said, as he sat down, in in front of the house, where he sat when he first came here. People stopped giving him a stare when they saw he was a friend of the Black Smith. He looked across the village towards the horizon. Fields of hay and agriculture, the forest he came out of, far in the distance. He saw the smoke from his village in the distance, the smoke of an entire village burning to the ground. Something soon caught his attention in that direction- A deathly howl, as if the dead are alive and fighting, yet it seems as though he was the only one who could hear it. Dorios walked up to Balaudiui and sat beside him. "You can hear them, too, eh?" Dorios said.
"Yes, I can... The cries of the dead, only a week before. As if the battle never ended. As if it never ended. Woden, bless their souls," Balaudiui said, "Can't believe the village is still burning, though. I thought the village would already of stopped burning by now, and all that would remain where the ashes."
"Aye. I think I may travel back there to retrieve my father's processions, soon. Or I could start now," Dorios said.
"I may not be here when you get back. If not, I hear there's a large village. A city, as you will, North-West of here. Should I not be here, meet there, we shall," Balaudiui said, "But we will meet again."
"Aye. That, we shall," Dorios said. He got up and went back to the Blacksmith shop, entered. A few minutes later, he came out, with a shield and bow on his back, and his battle axe in his hands. He was wearing a thick coat, made of the fur of a grizzly bear. One that he himself killed when on a hunt.
Balaudiui remained sitting there, staring out at the hard working individuals, one or two, coming home with hunted prizes of deer and birds, others with gathered goods such as fruit, wheat and medicines. He seems it'd be a shame for such a place to fall to the hands of the slavers, just like his village.

Raevyn had her garden to tend, the vegetables and herbs growing along the side of her house. She listened to Balaudiui and Dorios speak while tending to the plants, until Dorios had gone and two small children appeared running up to the house. They stopped and Raevyn stood and went to them.
"What is it, little ones?" She asked. The boy held out a small parcel, which Raevyn took. She unwrapped a corner to see a few strips of dried meat. She smiled at the children and went inside for a few moments. When she returned she held a small clay jar.
"Take this to your mother, alright?" she held out the jar and the little girl took it. They assented and ran off again happily, bare feet flying over the packed dirt.

"Know what's a good spiritual herb? Sage," Balaudiui said, trying to start a conversation Raevyn. Then he pondered whether or not he should teach her how to use a sword or an axe. Not knowing whether or not she's used one herself, he decided to ask. "Hey, do you know how to use a blade?" He asked, as he slowly got up, using his axe, entering the garden, limping and leaning on his axe.
He looked up at the woman handing the children a pot. They ran off before they saw him. A good thing, too. Especially with the superstition they have towards outsiders. Especially one with a highly decorated shield on his back, rugged clothing and an axe that looks like it's chopped a few heads off before.

She looked over at his question after the children had taken off, taking the salve to their mother. She slipped a small, bone-handled dagger from the bottom hem of her bodice a second before answering.
"I only know how to use this. My father gave it to me and taught me how to use it years ago. I've never actually had reason to use it, but I keep it with me," she replied to his question.

Balaudiui looked at the small dagger in her hand. "I have an idea..." He muttered to himself, "but it'll have to wait till I'm fully better." He picked up a stick that lay on the ground, in it's own world. He handed it to her and said, "I recommend practice all your father taught you on that. A sword after all is only a longer version of a knife. Also, it should come in handy if we're under attack by them slavers. The only thing is, I give you a stick instead of a sword is because a sword has a tendency to start off harder to control then a dagger." He smiled at her as he entered the house, "Your skills with a blade will always come in use. Even if it isn't for killing," He said.
He grabbed the hilt of his sword and unsheathed it. He feels he's going to draw blood onto his father's sword more now, since that attack a week ago. He unsheathed his father's sword and started sharpening it using a rock in his pocket. He sat down on the ground while doing so, placing his axe and shield by his side. He looked up at the mirror which showed a reflection of the young woman, but slowly gazed away, back to the silver shine on his sword as he sharpened it. He soon remembered Dorios saying a man killed his daughter. This worried him, immensely with his son, supposing his son was killed by these slavers. He didn't want to think of that yet, his wife would call him on "Dad-shock" when he'd worry immensely about his son, when he went on a hunt. Balaudiui looked at his shield, the markings on it. One of the remaining relics that did not burn to the ground, of his culture. His and Dorios' weapons and shields, the only ones.

Raevyn tucked her small dagger back into hiding and took the stick from Balaudiui. She held it for a moment, an awkward thing in her inexperienced hands. She tried a few movements with the stick, but then decided that a bit of long-neglected practice with the smaller blade was in order before she could move on to anything resembling a sword. At this decision she leaned the stick close by the doorway to her home and drew the dagger once more. With this she began to practice, in only a few minutes regaining the easy form and movements that her father had seen fit to drill her on after the death of her mother.

He remembered that Doiros is the black smith of the village. Able to make his tribes armour and swords, maybe even clothing. He smiled and limped over to the black smith. His bow, he uses as a walking stick for now. In his pocket, he took some gold from his pocket, which he found one his travels towards the village. Entering the Smith, he put the small bag of gold on the working desk of Doiros and grabbed a sword that contained the markings of his family. A long sword, sharp as his tribe would make. He took a war axe, along with a circular shield an oval shield and a wooden sword. He put them in a cart and carried them back to Raevyn's home. Setting them down, he examined all but the wooden one. All made the same way his sword was made and the same quality of work that fought that one battle and was passed down from generation to generation. "Let's see... Axe, sword... bow... shields. That's all I need to teach someone how to fight," He said.
