Name: IIzak Valen (pronounced as Isaac Valen)
Age: 19
Race: Human
Physical Description: He is average in height at 5'11", with messy, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He is mostly handsome, but has a visible scar on his right cheek from a knife. His muscles are well toned, however they aren't big by any means of the word. He looks downright scrawny at a glance but up close, he has an warrior's body. He is constantly wearing greyish pants and a black tunic enchanted to regulate his body temperature so he doesn't get cold when sleeping on the ground. He carries his supplies in a pack on his back using a strap that slings around his body and doubles as a carrier for two throwing knives, both also enchanted in different ways. He wears a single sword in a scabbard at his belt, used in combination with one of his daggers. Both of the enchantments within the daggers are limited to three uses per day, and each use takes 1 day to return (i.e 3 uses takes three days to recharge)
Personality: Kind to all he meets (except for enemies), IIzak will stop to help any stranger he meets, if they ask him too. He has a very overdeveloped sense of right and wrong, and is extremely idealistic. He has a weakness for gambling that only shows itself when the game is an eccentric one and a razor sharp mind that allows him to win often. Also, he has a tick that shows itself when he is nervous, bored, or showing off, where he flips a wooden dagger into the air and catches it repeatedly.
History: Son of the mayor of a small village, IIzak's mother died in childbirth and his father was left to raise him. IIzak had an extremely strong bond with his father, who in addition to his mayoral duties, devoted himself wholly to his son.
When a food shortage in the village left its inhabitants , angry, and looking for someone to blame, eyes and pitchforks turned towards the mayor and his family. Several villagers broke into the home of the mayor and attempted to kidnap IIzak, who was 8 at the time, in an attempt to force the mayor to give them more food (believing that he had been hording it).
IIzak's father was killed in the ensuing struggle, but his sacrifice gave his son a chance to escape into the woods, armed with naught but a wooden dagger. As he ran, IIzak was pursued by several of the villagers and was eventually saved by a roving mercenary band know as "The Band of the White Falcon", who had been in the area on their way to a contract.
After saving him, the band adopted IIzak into their ranks, setting him menial tasks such as looking after horses, polishing swords, cleaning the campsites, and fetching water.
These tasks gave IIzak a distraction, something to devote himself to, so as to forget the pain of his father's death. One of the more experienced mercenaries, a man by the name of Cain Arkrider, looked after IIzak and made sure that he stayed out of trouble, eventually becoming a father-figure to IIzak.
Cain taught IIzak how to wield a blade one year after he had joined the band and found that IIzak was an absolute natural, clearly born with the instincts necessary to become a true master of the blade.
IIzak's talent, along with Cain's guidence, forged IIzak into one of the best fighting men within the mercenary troupe, however, after many years; Cain's, and eventually IIzak's, sense of honor and justice clashed with the mercenary lifestyle in a most unpleasant way.
The White Falcon had become corrupt over the years of IIzak's training, and, jealous of IIzak's abilities, and with his constant questioning of the leaders of the band as far as the morality of their choices in contracts, several men within the group set a trap for IIzak, planning to challenge him to a friendly duel, then in the midst of the fight, shoot him in the back with an arrow.
Cain got news of the ambush, and rushed to his apprentice's rescue. As Cain arrived at the duel sight, both IIzak and his opponent were sparring, and the archer had his arrow nocked and drawn. Shouting out, Cain ran towards the archer, who spun in surprise and fright and instinctively released the drawn arrow, which buried itself into Cain's stomach.
IIzak turned, and saw his master, his hero, the man who had raised him like a father fall backwards to the floor with an arrow in his gut and all reason slipped from his mind. IIzak attacked the archer with a fury, and simultaneously fought off the man he had been dueling, defeating both.
IIzak's killing stroke was about to fall when Cain cried out to IIzak to stop and let the two men be. As soon as they could, the two men ran away from the scene, shouting curses and threats back at IIzak.
IIzak fell next to his mentor and wept as he gingerly felt the area around the wound, desperately searching for a way to save the mortally wounded man.
Cain's told IIzak that revenge was not his place to take and that he should forget about the band entirely and seek out his destiny, whatever it may be, elsewhere. As the light began to leave Cain's eyes, his final words to IIzak were; "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Remember that son... live your life by it. Help those who require it and ask for nothing in return but only offer your help to those who deserve it. Believe in your abilities and always fight the good fight, I know if its you, you can make a difference."
Since that day IIzak has roamed from town to town searching for a purpose and righting as many wrongs as he can along the way.
