"...I was thinking going partway as something else, but whatever, we'll have quite a few... hills to go over. I hope that you can make what practice you've had at silencing your footsteps more comfortable. Travelling with silence through the hills is recommended. There are some rather dangerous around there." He was there - and through a siginifcant amount, too. Sure, it wasn't as bad as the desert, but this was bad enough.

"Ok, get on." Lyndi said and then sifted into a horse. She knelt down so it was easier for him to climb up onto her back. she waited for him to climb up.

He didn't think twice. He heeded the advice, and hopped on, and began to take the equestarian posture he'd been taught at one time by some random bloke. Knees in, upright, hands at the ready, face forward, and pay attention. Pretend there's a silk scarf between your leg and the horse - and you daren't let it drop.

(like to ride horses?)
Lyndi took off at a gallop and made sure to make it as comfortable for Omio as she could. She kept a fast steady pace, and tried to make it so he wouldn't get unbalanced and fall.
She neighed with delight. she wind wipped by them as the tore through the forest. the crisp air smelled good. she was trying to find the village by smell. She wasn't quite sure where it was at by all she had to do was get a wiff of the wind and she would know where to go.
***
within an hour Omio and Lyndi were nearing the town. Lyndi slowed and stopped and waited til Omio got off and hid in so brush to shift back into her elven form. she emerged and walked over to Omio. "did you have a nice ride?"

((Mm'kay; don't mind me, but I'm going to basically use your paragraph to add detail here.))
Omio was wondering why Lyndi had to sniff for direction - he still has his compass, right? He removed his glove to find the compass broken. Dammit. But he knew that they would have to go WSW in order to reach it - and last he remembered, they were facing SES - but that was quite a while back. The wind was pleasantly warm, and refreshing indeed.
Roughly 50 minutes or so went by, and he got off - noticing that Lyndi began to get... hesitant. "We'd best get you back in order." She went into a shrubbed area, and Omio looked away - when she appeared again, saying "Did you have a nice ride?" he turned around, replying "It went as it went. Now, let us wander in."
((Your start on the next thread; post it in the town plox.))

They walked into town. It was a decent sized town. Lots of houses, and Shops. There was one large inn in the center of town near a church. People were all over the place. Lyndi didn't think the small town would be so busy but it was. She headed striaght for the market. She looked at all the things on display. Jewlery, freash fruit, quilts, cloth, clothing. She looked at everything, but didn't dare touch. She didn't have any money on her. She hadn't needed it living in the forest. she really should look into haveing a small house somewhere, and maybe a job so that she could come into a town every once in a while.
"hey, Omio. I think we should get some rooms at the inn. Maybe we could stay here a few days. I miss this. All the people. If you don't want to stay you don't have too, but I need to find a way to make a little money. Any ideas?" She said to him.
She pulled him off to the Inn. Once inside Lyndi grabbed a table in a corner. the lower half of the inn was used as a bar, and the upstairs was all rooms. A waitress came by and asked if they wanted anything Lyndi said no thanks, maybe in a little while.
Lyndi looked around at all the people in the Bar. Some of them looked rather suspisous and unfriendly. But she looked away from them for now.

First, he wanted to check what all he had, and before he could start, he got dragged to some random Inn. Quite a few eyes were on him - uncomfortable ones - he had to paly them off. "I was going to check how much I had, by the way... Anyhow, you can sit here if you want, or follow me if you want, take your pick o' that..." He approached Lyndi so that he could whisper."...However, we're going to need a connection of some sort. Any ideas?" He smirked - if this went a certain direction, he'd have no problem playing it. His head backed off, and he went back to talking. "We're going to need to find somewhere a bit more quiet than this, I can't even think in here, and I'm too damn noticible! Hell knows what attention we're garnered..."Whenever Raven wants to jump in... -

The fat, decadent noble ran as quickly as his stumpy legs and gross girth would allow him. He shoved commoners out of his path, bellowing cow-like for them to make way. An ill-placed foot sent him hard to the ground, where he scrabbled to his pudgy feet to resume his "sprint" He stumbled again, and, lacking the energy, lay there, breathing extremely heavily.
"You thought you could elude me, Lord Gossrir?" the fat noble felt a strong boot plant firmly on his spine. "Unfortunately, for you anyway, I still have need of you." He eyed the growing crowd, then the noble glorious raiment. "Although, perhaps not."
The owner of the strong boot, a slim, attractive man with long sleek black hair, fair skin, and deep, dark blue eyes, removed Lord Gossrir's restraint. He rummaged through the sleeve pockets of his extravagant red and crimson dress robes, finally pulling out a scroll of parchment.
"People of this fair city!" the attractive man proclaimed to the crowd. An odd reverberation rang throughout the buildings, catching and holding the attention of the listeners. "This," he brandished the scroll, "is a new law created by the Lord Gossrir. The new law states, and I quote," he opened the scroll and began reading, "The people and citizens..." he mumbled a few words, "are hearby ordered, by the power of law, to give one-tenth of their entire income of the the year on the eve of the festival of the winter solstice to the city's coffers to aid in finances." the still-growing crowd began to shout in protest. "Furthermore, the attractive man emphasized, silencing his listeners, "This wealth is unredeemable and will not, under any circumstances, be relinquished back to its former owner. With that, he closed the scroll. "He is before you, noble citizens. Let him hear your complaints."
The crowd surged forth, screaming up a storm at the noble who curled up into a fat, brightly-colored ball.
"That went very well, Lord Raven." a black man in blue robes complimented as he bowed to the attractive man who had managed to push his way through the mob.
"Thank you, Francis." Raven replied, breathing a sigh of satisfaction. "This mob will escalate and kill Gossrir. I have established great standing in the government here. I should be the next ruler of this city."
"Should be, Lord," Francis echoed, "but, as we have seen, things sometimes have a way of changing."
"I am well aware of that, thank you, Francis." Raven stared curiously at a couple, sitting and watching the mob. A -looking man and a dark-skinned girl whose clothes looked like they had seen better days.
"Tourists, I presume?" he asked as he approached them, "Is that why you are not participating in the chastisement of Lord Gossrir?"

Lyndi couldn't take her eyes off this mysterious man. He was very handsom, and she couldn't take her eyes off his blue eyes. They mezmorized her. She shook her head when he asked her a question. She wasn't exactly sure he was even talking to her and Omio but she decided to aawnser.
"Yes, were tourists." She said. Then decided to change the subject, "Are you going to just let that poor man die? I mean I know what he was asking the people was unfair, but couldn't it be solved without death?" Lyndi said this in hopes that the man would try to convince the people of a nicer soloution but she doubted he would do anything. And she herself wasn't about to stand up to a huge mob.
She then turned to Omio, wishing to get away from the crowd, "We should go." She said it quietly, but not wispering. She had nothing to hide.

Raven smiled and chuckled at the girl's naivety. His merry face suddenly became bleak and intense. "He deserves a punishment worse than death." With a swirl of his flashy robes, he strode past Francis, who followed his lord closely.
"Dispose of this," Raven commanded, handing the scroll over to Francis. "Make sure no one knows about it." He kept his brisk pace as Francis slowed his. Making sure no one was watching, Francis opened the scroll containing the proclamation to find only blank parchment.
He sighed regretfully. His lord Raven had been resorting to this sort of thing lately. Lying was acceptable so long as the end justified the means. His lord had become less focused on his first priority, abolishing the slave trade of Valear. Now, he seemed more focused on obtaining power for power's own sake. He struck a flint to the parchment and watched it burn into oblivion.
At that moment, his master rounded a corner. He recognized him solely by feeling. The man rounding the corner wore heavy battle armor and wore a helm over his face.
"We have to get out of here, Francis." Raven warned. "There will be a massive civil unrest tonight, as Gossrir has no heirs to his position, no relatives whatsoever. It is going to be primal." The voice within the helm was muffled, as if by cloth, not ringing with the echo of metal.
Raven walked past Francis, who grabbed his shoulder to stop him. He felt silk beneath his fingers. "We need to stop this, Raven. We cannot keep going like this. Too many innocent people will die!"
"None of them are innocent!" Raven exploded, towering above his servant, "None of them have tried to free their enslaved brethren! They are all guilty!" with a disgusted snort, he turned and walked out of the city, Francis close behind.

Lyndi liked his smile. It was beautiful. But when his face changed and he became harsh it was cruel. She frowned up at him and watched him leave.
"Omio, I think we should find out what their up too. Or simply get out of here. I have a feeling something bad is going to happen." Lyndi looked around and saw that the mob of people was increaseing in size rather quickly. She tugged on Omio's hand," We can get your supplies somewhere else and you can teach me your tricks later, but i think we need to leave now."
"Actually, do what you need to, and follow me if you'd like. I'm going to find out more about that man that just approached us. meet me in the forest where I shifted into my elven form to come into town. If we split up. If you decide to follow me then stick close, the crowd is growing fast."
With that said Lyndi left her spot by the Inn and headed in the direction she saw the handsome man go. She looked in all the alley ways and shops she passed but she couldn't find him yet. She got to the edge of town and saw him leaveing. She had to know what was going on. No better way then to ask right?
Lyndi ran to catch up with him, and his friend,"Hey WAIT!" She called to them.
"What is going on? why did that man deserve death, and who are you to decide that? what did he do? other then create a few unfair laws, that can easily be changed?"

((I haven't read it all, but I have the gist of it, I think.))
Omio listened to it all, and then got the pang of Go now, and FAST. "Okay; that exact bush it is, and I'll be there post haste." He then dodged a few people on his way out - First on his agenda, paints. He'll need those. He climbed up on a roof that was nearby and began to go from roof to roof, looking for the market - a not-so-crowded one, anyways. He finally found one and jumped down - the landing was a little rough, but the roll that Omio did could cover for a somewhat bad landing. He rooeld, and found himself about 2 feet from a fruit stall. "Sorry for the sudden appearance." He dashed then down the market, searching for the right stall, and dodging people until his eyes caught a survival store - it had most of the tools an expert like him needed. "Well, this is quite a nice stall. He walked over to it, and pulled out quite a few gold coins - giving those to the store clerk as he grabbed 3 colours of paints, an 1 extra of the dark green. He was going to need it for the next area. Next was a new belt-kit type of thing. His was going to go soon, so another one would be needed. He pulled out another 5 gold coins, and grabbed a new pack. He grabbed the stuff out of his old one, and kept it organized - somewhat - as he put each item in - charms, paints, notes, the quickspell scrolls needed to get out of a real tight pinch, and etc. He sold his how-empty rucksack and got 3 coins. "Thanks for the business." He then remembered something else, but didn't have enough money to grab it. Oh well, there's later, Omio. He ran up a wall, grabbed the edge of it, climbed up, and started the roof-hop again. He could manage out of town quickly this way. He leaped to the top of the gates and down. Again, a rough landing - a roll did the magic of safety again. Next was painting his face once again. He grabbed the dark green, and smeared it in random blobs, basically giving himself natural camo for the forest. NOW, Omio was serto to go - and Omio did go - by the 10 toe express, and it wasn't making any stops.

Raven, in his full battle armor gleaming in the sun towered over the girl, his deep, dark blue eyes roiling like an enraged sea. "How dare you question me, wretch? Though, I must commend you for managing to see through my disguise. For that, I suppose I shall explain myself.
"That man, Gossrir, was an avid slave-trader. He made good money off of slavery. The unfair abuse of his fellow man. He would not stop until Death made him. The people of this town live so comfortably because of Gossrir's trading of slaves. Laws would have done no good.
"Now, if you will excuse me, girl." Raven brushed by her, motioning for Francis to follow. "There are others that will not stop until Death makes them."

'Girl?! GIRL?! I'm not little girl!?' Lyndi thought to herself. "Look, mister, I don't know your name. By killing that man, you have not helped the people that were his slaves, otherpeople will just take a hold of them. Plus if you do manage to set them free, where will they go without money, homes and jobs? I'm not supporting slavery, but I'm certainly not supporting you killing people like Mr. Gossrir. If you really want to help slaves I suggest you find another way." Lyndi said Jumping in front of his path so he would have to stop and listen to her. She wasn't going to let him think she was an easy push over girl. She was tough and wasn't going to let him just bully and kill other people. That was no way to end slavery. Non violent ways are the best, but sometimes violence is needded. In this instance it isn't though.
Lyndi crossed her arms and blocked the mans path. "I'd like to ask you to think things out before you go around killing more people. And I suggest you find away to help those slaves you just 'freed' because i'm sure sombody else will enslave them if you don't go help them now. They did belong to Gossrir."

The left side of Raven's upper lip twitched irritably. The nerve of this ignorant child!
"You think," he began in a snarling whisper, "that I did not think this out? You take make for some impulsive fool? Had Gossrir not run off like a good little fat man, the ink would be drying on the order to abolish slavery in this city. Ran he did, though. Let the people reveal him for the lard-bag he really is.
"And for your information, my pretty little girl, no one will enslave them. I will give them their freedom! They will work in my aviary for a while until they have enough money saved to start their own lives. Do you know how many slaves I have turned into successful entrepreneurs? Do you, girl? To this date, one hundred shackles have been broken and given way to a shining future!"
Raven felt Francis tapping on his shoulder. "What?" he hissed. Francis pointed dumbly at the wall-tops lined with heavily-armed archers.
"They do not look friendly, my Lord." Francis mumbled.
"Damn." Raven spat. "Apparently, Gossrir possesses a more potent silver tongue that even I do. Apparently, this is going to take a while longer than I anticipated."
"Fire!" a captain ordered from the wall-top, directing the archers at Raven.
The hiss of hundreds little feathers cascaded upon Raven, Francis, and the whelp. Raven had little empathy for her, but she was naive and bold. Perhaps in was merely in her nature to be difficult.
The full battle armor melted into a kimono, colored a collage of blues. Raven took two quick steps forward, then swung his long sleeves at the cloud of feathered death. The sleeves grew in length and expanded. Raven began to twirl around, creating a shielding vortex of rippling cloth. The arrows accumulated harmlessly into the long sleeves. When the barrage ended, Raven gave both sleeves a final, forceful flick, sending the arrows point-first to the ground.
"Go on! Try it again!" he challenged the archers, "I dare you!"
