"Well Well Well, what do we have here?" a voice asked. All the demons turned to the window, cracked from the fight below that was only getting started. Raine barely managed to open her eye to see the man smirking at the other demons.
"Rusty." The woman growled, pulling back her arm to thrust dark energy at him.
Rusty laughed, his long tied up hair glowing a pale pink. Red eyes studied each person until they rested on Raine, who only could hardly keep her mouth closed from shock. Rusty, the betrayer...was the one who killed Danny.
He smirked and jumped, landing close to Raine and holding out a old rusted sword to the others. "Sorry everybody. But this little girl is mine. I called her before all of you did."
"You betraying sack of-"
"Careful Renae you might get rabies if you bite off more than you can chew." Rusty replied as the demons surrounded the two.
"What are you-" Raine began to ask, but Rusty cut her off.
"Dont worry little princess, you will survive this battle, if you learn to cooperate better." Rusty flashed a smile.
Raine stared up at him.
The demons attacked and Rusty glowed with a red light.

((I know I shouldn't post just OOC here, but I'm not going to be online much this week so continue the roleplay without me for a while and I'll post when I get back.))
-Quick IC Post-
Samuel took in another deep breath and pushed himself to his feet, watching the demons.
"Silvarn!" He yelled, stumbling into the wall behind him. He could no longer stand.

The demon held Silvarn by the throat, lifting him off the ground with one arm. Silvarn's eyes rolled back as he struggled for breath, his legs dangling uselessly in midair.
"So much for Silvarn Grey-Eyes, eh?" the demon mocked, giving Silvarn's neck an experimental squeeze, rewarded with a hacking gasp. "I honestly expected more from you." the demon hurled the mage into the wall, then was immediately upon him again, "Silvarn Grey-Eyes!" he swung him into the floor, "Disciple of the Twilight!" a return to the wall, "Master of the Nine Panoplies!" a toss into the air, "Wielder of the Eighteen Gems of Magic!" a Shadow-enhanced slam back into floor, "Slave of Khul'Yddis!" and the demon unleashed an orb of Shadow, which detonated upon impact with the mage.
When the dust settled and the wisps of black cleared, Silvarn stood boldly in a crater created by the demon's last attack. "I am no one's slave." he retorted simply, his voice gruff but without emotion, "Especially not that demon's." Thick grey mists rolled off of Silvarn's cloak, pooling and roiling on the floor. Two grey orbs, dripping with mist, floated lazily up to rest in Silvarn's hands. "Especially not yours." The blood that gushed from his myriad wounds transmuted into grey fog, cascading down to join the pool.
Silvarn hurled one orb at the demon, who say it coming and easily leapt out of the way -- just as Silvarn knew it would. The orb redirected itself in midflight and exploded behind the demon, trapping it in a web of mists. Held fast, the demon realized its struggling was futile, and wild look came into its eyes. Silvarn advanced menacingly upon the demon, driving the other orb into his face once he got in range. Silver lightning sprang from its eyes to the floor as Silvarn gripped its face in one hand. "Blood calls to blood, demon." the demon's mouth wrenched open in a soundless shriek, silver bolts arcing from it to its brethren nearby. They were taken by surprise and were held in place by the agony ripping through their bodies. Silvarn's disturbingly apathetic face twitched only the slightest of degrees in ire, and the demons detonated in a blast of thunder, rocking the already-shaky foundations of the tavern. "It would do you well to remember that."
The grey mage made his way up the stairs, killing any demon foolish enough to cross his path without thought nor effort. Had invoked the most powerful and dangerous of his former master's gifts: The Trance of Twilight. Only when every living thing in his sight was annihilated utterly could he stop.

The tavern shook around Raine and Rusty as Silvarn inched closer and closer to the room they were in. Rusty himself could feel the power as could the other demons. He narrowed his eyes and looked down to Raine with a smirk. "Sorry girl but this is goodbye for now. Later!" he vanished before her eyes.
"Wait!" She cried, angry she hadn't used this chance to kill him. "Rusty.. I will kill you..." She swore.
"Hurry! Kill the girl now! Before that boy of hers comes to rescue her. That energy he's using is dangerous."
The little girl looked up and then to Raine. "We wont make it in time." She whispered.
Raine could subtly feel the change in energy as she heard Silvarn's footsteps grow closer. She looked behind her at the door as they grew louder, as well as screams from demons he destroyed. Inside she felt a twinge of happiness of joy, but closed her eyes trying to push it away. After all, Silvarn didn't really like her.
"KILL HER NOW!" the woman screamed and a nearby demon grabbed Raine and thrust her into the wall, slowly using its energy to suck the life from her body. She closed her eyes, trying to fight back, but it felt as if her whole world was fading into nothingness. The others turned to the door where Silvarn would appear from, gathering every once of energy to destroy him. Their bodies glowed red as it flowed into the air, forming into a large mass of energy.
"Sil-varn...." Raine gasped, trying to use every ounce of energy. She had to warn him, it was a trap...
"Destroy that dark mage as soon as he walks through that door." the woman roared.

The mage, fairly crackling with silver electricity, strode past the prone form of Samuel, paying him no heed. Perhaps it was his own sheer will diverting himself from his path of destruction, or perhaps because Samuel did not register as an immediate threat, no one could be quite certain. But, spared Samuel was, for now.
Silvarn continued down the corridor, hastening to where he knew the most bloodshed would be found. He did not hesitate when he entered the room, nor did he so much as flinch when the demons burst out from hiding. He vanished, momentarily, as ebon and crimson blasts filled the vision and splintered the wood away. Silvarn simply staggered through the onslaught, his face a mask of apathy.
He strode up to the nearest stunned demon, grabbed it by the throat, squeezed, and opposed it off, as though it were a cork. Blood splattered on his face, arm, and hand, but he took no action to cleanse himself. Instead, for the next minute, he was a maelstrom of silver and grey, a titan of mist and fog, a harbinger of death and destruction.
When all the demons were twitching in pieces, he stood above the girl, drained of life, silver lightning crackling from his eyes. He was about to drive a fist blazing with icy-silver flame into her unprotected form, and had raised his hand to do so, but found himself unable to follow through. His mask held steady, even as he saw the demonic hand growing out of his midsection.
"They were right about that tunnel-vision of yours."
In a series of searing silver flashes, Silvarn tore the arm out of its owner's socket -- and consequently, through himself -- spun tightly around, gripped the demon's face in one hand and slowly imploded it with his fingers. With a satisfying crunch, the demon's body went limp and dangling from Silvarn's hold like a broken marionette doll.
The enTranced Silvarn touched the bland blood gushing from his diaphragm in curiosity. He touched it to his touch, then licked it. When he realized it was his own, the blood on his fingers vanished in a flash of silver heat. When he realized where it was coming from and how much was coming out, he crumpled, the Trance coming off of him in waves. He gripped at his midsection, suddenly feeling the agony he had resisted. It would be no use to attempt to cauterize the wound, as the Twilight would simply devour his flesh.
Darkness pushed in around his vision.
Numbness pushed in around his body.
Blankness pushed in around his mind.
Then something pushed back.
Silvarn... it whined, ...stay awake...

Raine saw Silvarn enter and he appeared to be so much different before. She could feel the energy around him spiraling out of control. He himself was different than his usual self. She saw him as he stood over her, ready to kill her as well. She closed her eyes, scared to die, but knowing if she had to die, dying from his hands would be best. That's when she heard a noise and opened her eyes again to see a demonic hand emerge from his body. Her eyes widened slightly at this, even more so when Silvarn killed the demon and gazed at his own wound, before passing out onto the floor. Raine could feel the tavern around them shake and begin to break apart. If anyone could save them, Raine was the only one. Weak and wounded, she dragged herself to her feet and stumbled to Silvarn, watching with facination at the wound and the silver aura around him. "This is why Silvarn wishes to banish himself." She whispered, understanding the power he had. "I have to do something. Even if it doesn't work. This place is falling apart, I have to try something! Silvarn don't you dare die! You think you can just come up here all fire and brimstone, nearly kill me and get away with it?" She was pissed off at him, especially handling this burden on his own. "Stop being selfish and just be okay! I wont lose anyone else!" Her eyes, once purple, glowed red. "And if I have to use all my power to do it, than so be it!" Her hands glowed a combination of red and pink. She tried hard not to combine the powers however, since those powers would lead to their destruction. She concentrated her power towards him, wincing as it came into contact with this strange power that surrounded him. "Silvarn! Demon! You better wake up Silvarn up! He isn't supposed to die yet!"

So, at last, the mighty Silvarn Grey-Eyes has fallen. a voice dripping contempt called from the void.
"I have not fallen, not yet." Silvarn stammered, his voice weak and small in this limbo.
I told you, Silvarn, one day this would happen. One day, the power you wielded would not be enough. You could have been a god, Silvarn, a god! If you had but remained my servant, these mortals would be kneeling before you!
"Silence! You are nothing but a has-been! I have grown more powerful than you, even without your help!"
Ah, but Silvarn, there are still many things you do not know. For example, there is still time for you to become my disciple again. Kneel before me, and I will welcome you back with open arms. Kneel, Silvarn Grey-Eyes, and receive my tutelage once more!
...
An eternity passed as Silvarn fought himself.
...
He wanted knowledge, truth, power.
...
He wanted freedom.
...
"...NEVER!"
Then you shall die, just like all the worms you associate with. We could ruled this world and many others, Silvarn. It pains me to have to seek you out and end your existence now.
...
Silvarn found himself sitting bolt upright, his palm extended and a large hole seared into the facing wall. He gasped in a breath, his brain thundering in pain. He glanced up at Raine, a ghost of a smile forming on his lips, then the tavern gave a violent lurch. Without thinking, he scooped Raine into his arms and leapt out the hole he had created, just as the tavern came crashing down. He landed on a cushion of Twilight, setting Raine softly on the ground. He then took her hand and led her away with haste.
"We have to go. Now."

"No Silvarn wait!! What about Samuel-" as the entire tavern crashed down Raine's heart sank. "Samuel!!!" She ran towards the debries, her heart aching for Samuel to be all right. She felt Silvarn grasp her arm tightly stopping her from advancing any further into the fire and debries. Raine cried then as Silvarn pulled her away from the scene. That's when she finally felt the extent of her wounds, her legs shook from the effort to stay standing. Pain erupted from all over and Raine grasped onto Silvarns arm to keep from collapsing. Blood dripped down her legs and side from wounds. "Silvarn..." She whispered. Her body swaying slightly.

Samuel gave a gracious sigh of relief, the moment Silvarn appeared and walked up the corridor, killing all demons in his path. But for a slight, brief moment, it looked as if the mage were about to kill him. He wouldn't have been suprised if he had, Silvarn had almost killed him earlier, for some reason unknown. Although, it was clear now, even as the mage walked away, there was a flicker in his eyes that would have killed him then and there. Probably without a second thought either.
Seeing as there were no more demons on the landing, he used the wall railing to attempt to stand. His legs shook and trembled as the tavern wobbled tremdusly, knocking Samuel to the ground again. With a small growl if determination, he tried once more, desperate to stand again. All he could hear were muffled voices, one of which was as clear as day. Whatever was happening in there was making Raine shout desperatly, the words unaudioable.
Wanting to reach them and help, though as it seemed, they did not need help, he tried to stand once again, managing to stand whilst the whole room span with nausea. He tried to throw back the dizzy feeling in his head but that only made him feel worse. Then he threw up. All impact from the blows he'd received returning, his which caused him to shake and shiver. But slowly, he shuffled across the corridor, trying to reach Raine and Silvarn before it was too late for them all.
It was then that Samuel felt the entire building shake and soon tumble. He stumbled backwards, falling unconscious under a mound of stone and wood.

In a reflexive motion he did not understand himself, he brought Raine close to his body, letting her head rest on his shoulder. He watched as the tavern crashed down with an almighty racket, a shockwave of dust and debris kicking up the cape of his robes and driving specks of dirt into his eyes. Squinting hard, Silvarn stood firm, shielding Raine from the worst of the blast.
When the dust settled, Silvarn released Raine from his hold and staggered to the wreckage.
"Is there any sign of him?"
I am afraid not. No trace whatsoever. the demon reported.
"Are you certain?"
Aside from a rat and a dozen fleas, there is no life in there.
Silvarn sighed, reluctant not for the loss of Samuel, but rather for the potential.
Wait -- the demon began haltingly.
Not hesitating, Silvarn followed Scorcahr's stream of conscious into the rubble, flinging aside entire rafters in his haste. After a few minutes of clearing the wreckage, the mage happened upon the still form of Samuel. Careful not to harm any further, he slowly extracted him. He felt the feeble breath brush against his skin. As long as his condition did not worsen, Samuel would recuperate from this ordeal.
Tenderly slinging him over one shoulder, the mage shuffled back to Raine, grunting under exertion of carrying two bodies. "We have to find a safe place and hide out there for about a week while Samuel recovers. You would not happen to know of such a haven, would you?"

Raine blinked as Silvarn emerged with Samuel and found herself relieved that he was all right. When Silvarn asked his question she thought hard. She tried to come up with a good place to rest while they recovered. "Unfortunately, the only places that would be safe is someplace cold. My family hates the cold, their demon blood freezes once they reach a certain temperature, which is why they live in the desert. The demons wouldn't dare set foot in a place of cold or ice. It would kill them. if we had someplace like that, where we could recover we would be safe. But, it'd be hard for us to recover in such a place as well. So.." She thought again for another alternative. "Maybe if we hide in a cave or something I can place a barrier around it. Besides those options anywhere else we would go, the demons would follow. As well as the demon who killed Danny, Rusty. It appears he has betrayed the demons and wants me for some reason." She looked up at Silvarn. "So, what do you think?%2Pr

Samuel remained unconscious, unaware he was being carried back over Silvarn's shoulder. He had felt a slight twinge of pain when several sharp pieces of rock were removed from on top of him, but not enough for him to actually realize how much pain he was in whilst being half crushed by tavern rubble. All he could see or hear was silence, or muffled sounds as if his head was underwater. His feet and hands were iching with a numb feeling; much like pins and needles, that spread up his arms every time they moved. He wasn't sure what was happening at all, it was all black and empty.

Silvarn mused on the matter a moment, his eyes constantly darting about, looking for danger.
"It might be better to seek the Lockners for shelter. You now know your target, and it just so happens to be a Risk demon, even if he has betrayed his tribe." he paused to readjust Samuel, "And the Lockners have agreed to not kill you until you exact revenge on this -- Rusty, was it? No matter, I hypothesize the combination of their word to you, your knowledge of the target, and that target being a demon...I think we can arrange something.
"But, that is entirely up to you. I know we would be very uncomfortable living among foes, and you probably would be in constant danger for your life. If you have any other ideas, we have the long walk to a cave to think of one."

Raine closed her eyes and thought hard about what Silvarn just said. She was scared to go to the Lockners' for they also seek her death, and everything he said was true. But, they had no where else to go and at least there Silvarn and Samuel could recover. She was starting to regret getting them involved. Her hands clenched into fists and shook away the negative emotions. She looked back up to Silvarn and swallowed before answering. "If it is the only way we have right now than so be it. Let's go to the Lockners. I only hope we don't die before reach their village." She sighed and looked ahead of her. The Lockner's lived in the east. She estimated it would take two days to reach it. But knowing the demons and probably Rusty, they would attack again. "C'mon, we need to find somewhere to hide for tonight. It will take two days to reach the Lockners, for now I can place a barrier to protect us."
