Krae gave him a disgusted look, one that was liable to wilt plant life, before striding into the city to grab what she needed. "If you kill something, I will make sure you regret it," she called over her shoulder.
Not that she was at all certain that would restrain him.
It didn't take very long to get what she needed, although she cheated somewhat when it came to Den's new clothes and just grabbed at something that looked like it would fit. If it didn't, well, she was getting quite adept with a needle and thread, and alterations could be made. She was more surprised that business was going on as usual, considering what had happened not too long ago. Then again, humans being what they were....
Nothing untoward happened on her way back, much to her relief. While Krae was a creature of action (nowadays, at least), even she could only take so much within a certain period before it started wearing her down. Botching an assassination, getting caught up with a psycopathic demon-harbouring man, running from Antiroth and an angel, plus getting stepped on by a troll was getting there.
She grimaced, wondering what Den had in store for her. She didn't trust him for an instant to stay out of trouble, and honestly wouldn't have been surprised if he did it just to spite her.
Would their respective masters be mad if she beat him to near-death with one of his demons, she wondered?

Den smiled wickedly as she exited the gates of Tamasha. He knew she would be glaring at him just for smiling, already expecting the worst, so he looked up and forced his smile to become friendlier. Which, of course, would only set off more red flags.
"I got you something, dearest." he said as he swaggered over to her. From his pocket, he pulled out a small, thin silver ring. "Before you get mad at me, I found in a bird's nest, honest. I didn't kill, threaten, or rob anyone. Aren't you proud of me?" he added with a soft cackle.
"Now then, since I was denied the formal opportunity earlier --" he bent down on one knee, taking Krae's hand and holding the ring to it, "If you ever speak of this to anyone, I promise to --" he noticed the gathering crowd bubbling with excited anticipation, "to always cherish this hand the woman it belongs to," he dropped his voice and muttered, "but only after I bite it off."
"What I'm asking, my dear is...will you marry me?" his mouth smiled hopefully, but his eyes flared with utter mischief.

Krae stared at him for a good moment, completely speechless. "What... on... Earth... what are you doing? This is no time for your foolish antics, do you hear me? We have a job to do, and you don't need to be wasting time with... whatever this is," she said, gesturing at him. "Now put that ring back in the bird's nest, it was using that to attract a mate most like, you rotten man."
The crowd started giggling at this obvious refusal, although the reason behind it was lost to them. Krae did not have a very strong grasp of human customs, plus from where she had come from, rings were not used often (if at all) to cement an engagement.
Usually it was getting pregnant out of wedlock that did that.
She started off in the direction of the monastary, leaving Den behind her. "Now come on. I picked up some new clothes for you, as well, and if I have to adjust them to fit, I want to have time to do so, with decent lighting."
It didn't take her long to dissappear into the nearby forest, and Den would probably have to run to catch up, which would amuse the bystanders to no end.

That one moment, the one with her finally quiet, that was all he wanted. He could take their snickers, their pitying gazes, their amusement at his "misfortune" but to hear her not speak, to have actually shut her up, if only for a moment -- that was enough, and he was content. He stood up with a smug expression on his face, watching Krae march off into the forest. He looked at the silver ring still in his hand, flipped it into the air, and caught it again as he slipped it into a pocket. The spectacle over with, the crowd began dispersing at the beckoning of the local enforcement.
"Alright, show's over, folks!" the guards grumbled, annoyed with the blockage of traffic this little scene had caused. "And what's the big idea, anyway?" one asked as he grabbed Edward by his shirt, "Proposing in the middle of Tamasha's main gate, bringing all foot traffic to a standstill. I ought to arrest you for impeding commerce." then the guard got a good look at Den's face, "Say, aren't you that one guy who tore up a good part of the city?"
"Who? Me?" Den asked in his most innocent voice, looking genuinely hurt, "No, sir. If I were, I'd be running from you instead of trying to convince you I'm someone I'm not."
The guard nodded, mouthing "Ah," and released Den, who strode away quickly before the guard could mull it over too much.
When he entered the forest, he called after his companion, "Kraaae! Oh, Kraaae! Where aaare yooou?"
His little stunt had put him in an immensely better mood.
