"Pay attention when I speak to you. And, this was different, not a normal takeover, it was fueled, by something or someone." Sylvaris exclaimed angrily.
He looked back over at the crowd watching them, bent over to grab a stone, and hurled it towards the onlookers.
"Whatever, you seem not to care. I'm going back to the inn, enjoy your crowd."
He started walking back towards the inn, not caring to look back, at the crowd, at the lizard, at the village. He just continued walking. While he felt TideBreaker react to his rage, it had become usable again. If only it had happened earlier, he would've had a real answer from the damned lizard.
He stepped back into the inn later that night, he looked toward the still crowded bar area, no innkeeper to be found. He continued waiting for him, to ask where Tal's room was. Or, even to get his own room.
It's looking as if I'll end up being alone on my search again. Unless the lizard comes to, or Talwyn knows something.
As the barkeep walked out, he told Sylvaris the room number, and after wards Sylvaris walked up the stairs and pushed open the door to room five

"Hmm... alright... that rune means ancient... so lets see... the next rune... didn't I see that one before?" Putting the scroll down he grabbed a small notebook and started scanning the pages. He stopped when he found the page he was looking for. "Right... I did see it before! Okay... it means either power or ritual depending on the context... right. So that part would be 'something... solar eclipse something... the ancient ritual, or power, something... something... and I'm guessing a date comes here...". He sighed deeply and drained the last bit of the ale he had brought up with him.
As he heard the door to his room open, Tal managed to pull his thoughts away from the scrolls and turned to face whoever it was that entered. Seeing that it was Sylvaris, he greeted the man, sort of anyway. "Hmpf, don't they knock before entering where you're from?" About to turn back to his scrolls, he suddenly noticed two things. First, the way Sylvaris seemed to be gaping at him and second, his cowled cape was hanging next to the bed. Which meant his face wasn't covered... which explained the look on the mans face.
He jumped up, causing the chair to fall over backwards, and reached for his sword. Pointing it at Sylvaris, he spoke in a hushed, but slightly tensed tone. "Close the door. Now. Good, now before I lower my blade, you will give me your word that you take this secret to your grave, or I shall consider myself forced to use more drastic measures to make sure you will not be telling this to anyone outside this room. Are. We. Clear?"
He wasn't specifically threatening the man, though it could easily be interpreted as a threat. But no, he was merely making his point. The look in eyes would make this clear. While they showed determination, they also showed that he clearly hoped Sylvaris would agree to the non violent way of solving this.

"Honestly, if I wanted to tell your secret I would've already." Sylvaris pointed out. "I assumed this was the case when I had the surprise peek earlier tonight. So, what is it i'm keeping secret again?"
Sylvaris casually closed the door and hung his cloak on the handle. As he walked in, he gestured for Talwyn to lower his sword, as no good would come from it.
"At this point you seem to be too valuable for me to bring about your demise. Hmm? Are those, ancient Ixian runes? May, may I see them?"
He looked at Talwyn who still looked quite panicked, and frankly a bit saddened. He then gestured to the runes, and his notebook, which with his arcane enhanced sight, he could read from the doorway.
"and, we do knock, just, usually doors are left open, as a sign of innocence. "

"You saw already? I was sure my cowl was hiding my secret." He sighed and put his sword away again. He raised his eyebrow as Sylvaris said he was too valuable at the moment to kill, though he refrained from commenting, mostly because Sylvaris seemed to recognize the runes he had been trying to translate.
"You know these runes?" He sounded thrilled. Grabbing his chair and putting it back again he gestured to Sylvaris to sit down in the other. As he started showing what he translated so far, his notes, and the parts left to translate, he seemed to grow more and more excited. "It's about some ancient power or ritual. Finally something that seems like a promising lead for me."
Sadly for him, while the scrolls did speak of an ancient ritual, there was nothing magical about it and thus useless to him. Though he wouldn't know that until the scrolls were translated.

"Seems as if, you're semi-right. But it's not just a ritual, these seem to be speaking of a summoning." Sylvaris began to feel sweat dripping down his neck. "The prophet!" He turn to Tal.
"Where did you find this scroll? It could be beneficial to us both!" He stared intently at Talwyn, his pupils were huge, and nostrils were flared.
This is what he had been looking for, someone, or something to help him.The Prophet, an ancient Demi-God that could see all, this is what he needed.
"Whatever you seem to be searching for, and my information, all in one day. We need to translate the rest of this, NOW!"
Sylvaris beckoned for Talwyn to hand him the notebook he had, this was going to be a long night.

Getting up, he grabbed his cape and put it on as he headed for the door. "I'll get more ale, it sounds like this will be a loooong night." Opening the door, he raised the hood on his cape to hide his face and stepped out and went down to the bar. After getting the ale, he went upstairs so quickly, he almost spilled it.
Sitting down, he finally answered Sylvaris question. "I found them near Lonea lake. In one of the many hidden laboratory's of a mage called Anexar Bluewind. It was he who turned me into what I am today. Ever since he betrayed me, I have had but two goals. Firstly, to find a way to become a normal human once more. And secondly... to hinder his plans whenever possible. Hopefully someday I'll be able to kill him..." He went silent for a bit at the last part which showed how much he doubted he'd ever be able to do that.
"In any case. He has many of these hidden laboratory's and hidden within them are often items containing great knowledge or power. I try to find them as much as possible as one of them might contain more information on just how he turned me into this. And after I'm done searching one, I destroy it. As much to hinder him, as to prevent anyone else from finding one of the many dangerous things he stores there."
He shook his head at the thought of some of the things he had seen in these laboratory's. There were some items that were not meant for humans to be found... or used. Turning his attention back to the scrolls he continued to tedious and difficult job of translating them.
Hours later, his eyes narrowed as he showed a part to Sylvaris. "Am I interpreting this correctly? 'soaked in the sanguine elixir of life obtained from the newborn fountain.' If I am... well...the sanguine elixir of life is obviously talking about blood. The 'fountain' would be a heart... and newborn... a baby naturally... so... 'Soaked in the blood of a child or baby?' "

OOC: Sorry it's been sooooo long Tal!!! I lost my internet, therefore, having no way to post, or tell youuu!
"If the man you described is as deranged, and as gruesome as make him out to be." Sylvaris mentioned solemnly "Yes."
Sylvaris looked at the scroll, studying it, hoping, praying Talwyn was wrong. He did not find that to be the case.
"I recall seeing something like what you described, near Lonea Lake, on my way here. It seemed abandoned, so who knows. But, also, the phrase you just recited to me, sounds... Familiar, any idea why?"
Sylvaris looked at Talwyn, and then to his ale, it was a pale brown. An odd color for ale, to say the least.
"Talwyn, what say you, to heading out, to attempt to find more of these laboratories. I have a feeling they might be the answer to both our problems..."
He was looking back at Talwyn, expectantly, waiting. He could see Tal considering the offer.

He was considering the offer Sylvaris had made him but he was hesitant to accept. After all... how well did he know the man? He knew nothing he realized, other then the mans name, assuming it was real, and that he was familiar with the runes, now identified as Ixian, Tal had been trying to translate. No... there was one other thing. From the moment the man had stepped inside the inn, he had been interested in Talwyn.
His eyes narrowed... Not even a week ago one of Anexar's followers had attempted pretty much the same. He suddenly lunged forward grabbing Sylvaris by the throat and slammed him into the wall as he chanted a short spell. "Efreet, source of all fire. Light which burns beyond crimson, let thy flames gather in my hand and scorch those who oppose me." A sphere of fiery energy gathered in his right hand and ignited into flames. Aimed at Sylvaris head, Tal's voice was a furious whisper. "You have exactly five seconds to convince me you're not one of Anexars lackey's trying to rectify last night's failed assassination. Have to admit though, you're smarter then the others."

Sylvaris glanced at the fireball, conjured in the sudden panic that had just occurred.
"You realize, fighting me with fire is a miserable idea, correct? Seeing as how I am a, you know, water specialist."
Sylvaris spoke a few ancient words, and doused Talwyn's hand, putting out the fire. He then moved Talwyn's hand off of his neck.
"Are you quite done now? I'd like to get back to work. That was completely uncalled for." Sylvaris stared him in the eye, wondering what had cause that, outburst. The man's eyes were nothing short of madness.
"Come now, my new found friend, sit, calm down. I am no enemy to you."
Sylvaris walked over to the chairs, and sat back down, gesturing to Tal to do the same.

Sylvaris didn't react like the typical flunky's Anexar used to do this kind of dirty work, still... Tal remained on guard. He didn't make another move, nor did he make another conjuration, but he kept his narrow eyes locked on Sylvaris while thinking. Every one of the assailants had put up a fight after Tal threatened them. The fact Sylvaris remained calm and friendly made him decide to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Slowly relaxing his posture he sighed admittedly. "I shall admit you do not seem to be after my life. Forgive me, but sometimes I can't be to careful." The only sign it was an actual apology was the look in his eyes. The tone of voice was as brusque as when they had first met. Sitting down across Sylvaris again, he remained slightly wary however. "If you want my help though, you'd better explain why you seem as desperate as I am to find Anexar's laboratories. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt, but I know nothing of you or your motives."
Dropping his voice to a whisper he chanted yet another spell. "Sylpheed, warden of air, let me direct the power of the amethyst flames to crash down upon my adversary." As he finished electricity pulsed around his hand. "If this slightest piece of trust I am giving turns out to be unfounded however..." Not bothering to finish the thought, he canceled the spell and his hand seemed to tense a bit as the magical energy fizzled out.
