Within a blink of her eye, the woman maneuvered herself to Sinjun's throat, pressing a stick to his neck and and putting a hand on his rod. Eyes wide with surprise, Ainutsa turned to the woman, bow strung and arrow notched within a second. She jumped backward a step and took aim at the woman. Before she could do anything else, however, the woman backed away.
Scowling in confusion, Ainusta stepped next to Sinjun again, not lowering her bow. "You should know that I do not miss. Do not try such silly things again. I hate violence." she told the woman.
Her words seemed contradictory to her actions, but Ainutsa was serious. If this turned into a matter of their self-defense, Ainutsa would not hesitate. She really did hate violence - it was not in her personality. Such things made her hate herself, which made her hate anything that brought out those feelings. This woman was bringing out those feelings; Ainutsa wish she'd stop.
Taking a quick glance at Sinjun, she saw the disappointment in his countenance. His words brought sadness to Ainutsa. There were not all nice people in the world. Cordana had told her something similar before, but Ainutsa hadn't really understood it until now. You never could know if people had good or bad intentions. It was sad to Ainutsa that this was the truth.
"Making friends is not done by showing them how easily you could kill them." she told the woman, giving her own advice. She still did not lower her bow. Again, her actions contradicted her words. Violence seemed to make her do that.

Silence turned and stared at Ainutsa, I honestly don't care. I don't need friends nor do I need companions. I am here because I was sent here. And I would recommend putting the bow down, little girls are not meant for big dangerous play things.
Silence turned and faced Sinjun, I do not know if you are the one I was sent to meet, nor do I know if you aren't. However, I don't care. If you are not the one I needed to meet, then you will lead me there, whether it is meant to happen or not.
She turned and looked at Ainutsa again, smirking. Before you think about it, before you could even loose an arrow, I could kill you where you stand. I did not live through what I have been through to be killed by the likes of you. Put the bow down, therefore, there is no need for violence. Considering you, yourself said you don't like it. Although your very actions are contradicting your words.

"Enough!" Sinjun spoke sharply. He did not like the way that Silence was speaking to Ainutsa. For some reason, he felt protective of Ainutsa. He had to admit, it had a little to do with the fact that she was beautiful.
"What did you mean, I 'will lead you there weither it is meant to happen or not'? Perhaps it would help if you would tell us what the meeting was to be about."
Sinjun was fully aware of the dying fire, but figured that stoking the flame could be misunderstood to mean he felt comfortable at the moment... which he did not.
Instead, he put the palm of his hand out toward her as if testing the air around Silence.
"The spirits that surround you are powerful, but they are of the darker plain. You have contracted with them through your violence."
"I would be willing to help more, even if it were to mean going out of my way, but your motivating tactics seem to be threats and attempting to instill fear."

The woman's words spoke some truth. Ainutsa had never killed a person with her bow and arrows. She had, on occasion, injured an animal to save her own and other animal's lives, but she rarely killed another living being. She could count on one hand the living beings she had killed before, and she was not proud of them. On this occasion, Ainutsa, of course, had not planned on shooting to kill, but rather to injure so the woman would be unable to make any other dangerous moves toward Sinjun and herself. However, the woman seemed to take it that Ainutsa was willingly to kill her and yet she was not scared. Perplexed, Ainutsa realized she would have to change her tactics.
“You misunderstand my intentions. I am unlike you; I do not shoot to kill and I do not flaunt the ability to do so. You are immature to make those assumptions.” Everything the woman seemed to say was based on her confidence and false assumptions. This, Ainutsa realized, was what she disliked about the woman – she was self-centered and in combination with her self-confidence, it was stifling.
“Enough!” Sinjun said, and Ainutsa glanced over at him. She lowered her bow and returned her arrow to the quiver. She did not want to interfere in Sinjun's attempts to make peace with the woman. However, she would not trust the woman. Her belated first impression of the woman was set now. It would take a lot to undo it.
As Sinjun spoke, Ainutsa gathered her energy the way her grandmother had taught her. This energy, she remembered, could be used for anything. Attacks, defense, light, fire, power, whatever Ainutsa wanted it to manifest, it would do so if she could control it. Her necklaced glowed warmly as she did this; Ainutsa hoped it would not interfere should she decide to use her energy. For now, however, it was simply a safety measure.
Sinjun's remarks on spirits had Ainutsa's strong curiosity perk up. A million questions came with his mention of the spirits around the woman, but even Ainutsa knew that it was not the time to voice those questions. With effort, she suppressed the questions and paid more attention to the moment at hand.
