Name: Valdenaro (commonly known as Hunter)
Age: 26
Race/Gender/Class: Human/Male/Rogue
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Physical Description: Dark and greasy shoulder-length hair. Green eyes. Dark moustache and unshaven look. Pale complexion. Wears a long brown jacket over his tunic, blackened leather boots, and black fingerless gloves.
Personality: Short-tempered and very slow to trust. Charismatic and charming when he needs to be, but generally selfish and cynical. Helps others only as it serves his own needs. Keeps to himself and is often sarcastic in speech.
History: Valdenaro was born to uncertain parents in an uncertain town. For unknown reasons he was raised in a bandit camp, an older ruffian acting as his father figure and mentor. By fifteen years of age, Valdenaro grew to be a skilled combatant and talented thief. He earned the nickname "Hunter" for his tactics in eliminating members of a rival bandit gang: his prey never detected him until he closed in for the kill. The bandit leader saw Valdenaro's merit and demanded the boy challenge his adoptive father for his position as right-hand man. Valdenaro bested the older rogue in knife combat, but the test was not over.
The man who had raised Valdenaro defenseless before him, the leader of the bandits ordered Valdenaro to finish him off. The boy objected, but the head bandit would not tolerate his mercy; Valdenaro would either kill the man or be killed himself. Taking the dagger in his hand, Valdenaro instead threw the blade into the heart of the chief bandit. Many of the ruffians were outraged, but others supported the boy as their new leader. Fighting broke out in moments, and Valdenaro took up the sword of the fallen leader and managed to defend himself. His allies were slaughtered, being far outnumbered, but the young man was able to escape the camp to safety. Hiding in the woods, Valdenaro took up the alias "Hunter" and over the next several years made a name for himself as something of a criminal-for-hire.
