Anyhow, HDTV had this run by him before, and I checked by Talwyn by IM - he doesn't mind me taking this character, so with only one other thing to say, I'll post the bio.
I think I might need a little practice with the character first.
Name: Gwilyim
Age: 29
Race: Human
Physical Description:
Gwilyim has a sturdy build, and definitely looks like someone used to traveling. His long, blond hair is tied back in a pony tail. He has a thick, but close-trimmed beard. His brown eyes are friendly and he is quick to smile, causing people to find his overall appearance to look friendly and warm. In terms of clothing, he always wears the green robes of his order. They are light enough to carry in the summer, yet can still keep enough of the cold at bay to survive harsh winters. The only other detail worthy of mentioning is his staff. While the staff is made of wood, and has a few nice patterns crafted in it, it is actually the beautiful, sapphire blue crystal on top of it that makes it look noteworthy.
Gwilyim's familiar is a beautiful hawk by the name of Ishalla. She has light slate gray feathers, and a bleak, almost white, abdomen. Her long tail is marked with thick black stripes, and her head has a spot of black that makes it look like she is wearing a cowl. Combined with the white stripes above her red eyes, this gives her an intelligent, but fierce look. She is also quite large with a length of 64 cm [about 25 inches] and her wingspan is 127 cm [About 50 inches].
Nobody remembers the original name of Ishalla's species, as today they are merely known as Raellag's Hawk. Raellag was the first person in the history of Ithir to bind his mind to a familiar and thus, the first person capable of using magic.
Personality:
He’s quick to smile, and generally friendly, yet slightly careful. He enjoys seeing places he has not seen before and absolutely loves to study ancient ruins and the like. He dislikes violence of any sort, but will not hesitate to defend himself, or his hawk Ishalla, with all his might.
History:
Gwilyim was born 29 years ago in a far away land called Ithir. He had a normal childhood, with the exception of the visions he got during his dreams. This all started shortly before his 17th birthday. This power, known throughout Ithir as "the Sight", showed that he was marked by the goddess of magic. After sending word to the Order of Mages, the mage serving the region of Gwilyims hometown took him in as his official apprentice at Gwilyim’s 18th birthday.
He studied hard under Radomil’s guidance, and at age 22 his hard work was rewarded handsomely. During their journey to the city of Estura for the annual midsummer ‘Gathering of the Order’, he was chosen by Raellag's Hawk. These birds were named after the first Mage of Ithir, and being chosen by one was considered a sign of greatness.
Happiness did not last, however. A few years later, things started to stir in Ithir. Both the people and the Mages started to become divided in a conflict started by two rival cities. The Gathering grew more and more hateful, as the Mages divided themselves between the sides - just like the people of the land. Gwilyim and only a handful of others remained neutral in the conflict. With civil war looming over the land, Gwilyim left Ithir after receiving a vision and much thought. He had no desire to abandon his friends and country, but with civil war all but imminent, he is glad he had the opportunity to leave. Staying would have meant either fighting former colleagues, or worse, citizens. His oath allowed neither. If his vision is to be believed, however, there is a way to prevent this all and thus he set out on his journey.
...HDTV, will you now officially permit the first character adoption ever?
Colour... ...crap. What colour will I u-- Dah! That's a good colour contrast...
Colour codes:
Gwilyim: C9C030
Ishalla: 30C0C9
Event leading to death: Landslide. Sad to say, his barrier merely prolonged his miserable end, and he, along with Ishalla, were both buried alive under metres of dirt. The air would only last so long with the two, and suffocation would result.
