"Baby, run away from the mountains. Away from where we came, it's too dangerous! I will find you baby, I'll be out within minutes!"
She heard the voice play over and over in her dreams...
Noriko awoke to the eerie sounds of a local .
...and something tugging on her hair. She let a panicked yell escape her lips as she threw herself unintentionally against a local tree. A sweat broke out against her forehead, gluing her black and blonde strands to her pale skin. He breathed heavily, her hands gripping the tree behind her in a catlike stature. She looked up, only to find the culprit to be a local...
...racoon? She was conned by a racoon? Sent into a world of fear by a racoon? She'd been traveling for fourteen years and was supposed to be a pro! Momma would not approve.
Pretending that nothing happened, Noriko slowly stood up and brushed herself off. Her hands, dressed in fingerless gloves, picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder. It included money she'd earned by working at various taverns through her travels and plenty of toys to keep her occupied. (Weapons, study books, etc...). Her skin was pale, perfectly smooth and unblemished. As if you could carve cold, white marble and breathe life into it.
It took a while for Nori's breath to come back to her, but it did eventually and she began walking again, strategically weaving through the trees. Her cat senses picked up noises and smells, but also movement in the distance. She had to be alert. Her green eyes were consistantly darting from side to side, scanning her surroundings. She couldn't think about anything else. Just survival...Just mother.
Since she had previously passed out, probably due to famine, she needed to hunt. Or find some sort of easy food source before she became the prey.
She ran until she finally found...
Water! Oh, sweet water.
She thanked every god possible and began darting to the stream when suddenly she noted the other presence.
...oh nuts.
...she hid and peered out, watching the figure for a few moments, looking for some sort of path she could take to the stream where she couldn't be seen. No luck, damnit. She tensed up.
...and then the creature morphed...as soon as it ran away, she waited a few moments. Then with an effortless sigh of relief she drifted slowly up the stream and filled a few of the empty bottles in her bag. She was sure that she would be fighting for her life if she didn't get out of here soon.
