Name: Saerin Cassius Nordrum
Age: 26
Race: Human
Physical Description: Saerin's father taught him to keep his body in great shape, and he does just that. Standing six feet even, he weighs 243 pounds of muscle. He keeps his long, brown hair groomed neatly and held back in a ponytail. As his mother proudly pointed out to her friends when he was a child, he has her brown eyes.
Personality: A kidder and practical joker, he often pulls pranks on his close friends, of which he only keeps a few. Beneath this, he's a kind-hearted person and likes to help people. He has a short temper and can be a little stubborn at times. He usually thinks that he's right, but will admit defeat if he really doesn't want to argue, or if he respects the other party.
History:
Billabus Nordrum was a respected warrior in his hometown, a member of the city guard and one of its Coliseum champions. It was after one of his famous fights that he met Lady Aenora, daughter of the city's Count. They fell in love after a hard-fought struggle with her family.
That story is for another day.
Aenora and Billabus had a son named Dameon. Billabus took great pride in his son, teaching him every lesson in fighting with a sword that he had learned from his time in the Coliseum. Soon, Dameon himself took up his father's old trade and became a crowd favorite, Billabus's popularity helping him all the way. When Saerin was born, it was only natural that he be taught to fight and become a Coliseum fighter.
Originally, the two were supposed to be put into separate divisions. The proprietor told the family that the two would never fight each other. However, the greedy old dwarf decided that money was more important than promises, and it was decided that Dameon and Saerin face off for the championship. The battle was scheduled, and the family wept.
A championship fight was different from a standard battle. While most exhibitions left both combatants alive, a championship battle could only be decided by death. Saerin attempted to back out, but the proprietor promised that if he didn't fight, Dameon would be executed. The crowd wanted to see death, and they'd get it one way or another.
When the battle was finally fought, Saerin let his brother defeat him. He loved Dameon too much to kill him, and decided instead that he'd die so that his brother could live. Dameon wouldn't give the final blow, however, and the crowd became enraged. One of the champions from another division entered the arena and shot Dameon with a poisoned arrow, killing him instantly. Saerin picked himself up off the ground and slew the assailant with a swipe of his sword.
Saerin fled the city in an attempt to escape the proprietor's assassins. A tribe of nomads took him in and he taught them his fighting skills. The tribe became renowned for its skilled warriors. He eventually left the tribe, however, to find and reap vengeance on the proprietor of the Coliseum.
