Name: The Cunning Mind of the Raven's Glittering Eye (a.k.a. Raven)
Age: About 30, but looks like early twenties
Race/Class: Human/(Diplomat/Assassin)
Physical Description: Male. 5'8", 120 lbs, medium-light build. Blue-black eyes, long sleek black hair, and fair skin. Very attractive.
Personality: Raven is a cunning diplomat and will always haggle until he gets the long end of the stick. His quick wit gets him into and out of trouble quickly. He is very loyal to his friends, but gaining that status is very difficult. Raven commands much respect in a social group, able to sway them to his cause in minutes.
Because he is weak physically, if he is unable to find an exit from a physical problem and there seems absolutely no escape, he becomes paralyzed with indecisiveness and cannot decide how or if to act. He leads a very rich lifestyle, and less-than-savory things turn his stomach.
Background: Raven was born a slave named Cacuus Rae'vin, slave of House Rae'vin. He was traded around quite a bit, changing masters every six months or so for ten years, allowing him to pick up many languages in the process. He was often given as a present between the gluttonous nobles because they all admired his good looks and magnificent singing voice, clear, pure, and resonant. Once he started to become a man, he lost his beautiful voice, his tone becoming more akin to a squawking crow. As with most teens, he rebelled against his superiors and was punished harshly, but shipped off to a different household when the first master could not handle the furious caged bird any longer.
Raven was freed from a slave market when he was around sixteen by a large, strong boy about his own age. The dark-skinned young man called himself Reluctant Bull Charging and the two formed an inseparable alliance. A former slave himself, Reluctant and Raven vowed to abolish all slavery in Valear. Raven was deprived his beautiful singing voice, but gained a wickedly powerful silver tongue instead. With his newfound freedom, he gave himself a new name: The Cunning Mind of the Raven's Glittering Eye, or Raven for short. He handled the diplomatic end of the abolition movement, while Reluctant actually freed the slaves from their physical chains.
The alliance grew and worked well until Reluctant was assassinated suddenly four years later. Raven, unsure of what else to do, now deprived of the brawn of the operation, took what finances the alliance had and fled. Using the money, he bought as many slaves as he could and founded an aviary specializing in exotic birds. He gave the slaves their freedom and a salary, rerouting his skyrocketing finances into buying more slaves.
He knew the gluttony of the nobles would not end unless a greater power told them to. With that ambition, he set forth to bring every dignitary in Valear to their knees before him and establish a powerful one-realm government to end slavery forever.
Abilities: Raven has a potent silver tongue that can easily seduce anyone or an entire group. His is an expert liar and can emit falsehoods all day with a completely straight face. What magics he does possess mostly help him with social attacks.
He also possess a magical kimono that can shift into any color, texture, and sizing instantly. The sleeves can grow to indefinite lengths and, with magic, can be used as slashing weapons.
He is also adept at creating disguises, complete with accents and odors. When cosmetics and other disguise-making materials are scarce, or when he needs an impenetrable disguise, Raven possesses an ivory mask that allows him to wear the face of another, instantly changing him into the other's perfect mirror. The other, however, must wear the mask first to imprint his or her features into it.
An equally important item he carries around is a small black book containing the names of people Raven has "dirt" on. A slightly less important item is a teacup that continually brews tea and a sthingy that changes the tea's flavor into whatever Raven's mouth or heart craves. The preceding three items he keeps stashed away somewhere within the ever-shifting pockets of his kimono.
His death: Raven met an untimely end at the hands of another underground organization bent on taking control of Valear. The organization first executed Raven's servant, sending him to the diplomat piece by piece, joint by joint, in an effort to frighten him off. Raven, however, only delved deeper into the organization's ranks, until he was discovered and executed, hung by his kimono. The organization now bears the standard of a bird of prey gripping a blank face in show of their triumph over the Masked Crow.
