Physical Description:
Wearing a full plated armor, standing at 6’1” and weighing about 210 pounds Edward looks like a giant. Though when you move close to him, you can tell that he is only a bit longer than most humans. He also had a helmet, but doesn’t wear it often for it narrows his vision which can work against him in combat. On his back he wears a tall pole-arm and a shield, at his side is fancy looking sword.
Personality:
Embittered and often cruel, he will zealously hunt down anything magical with a guilty until proven innocent mindset. Since he is never wrong however, all mages and magic wielders are always guilty and a danger to society. He has a cold sounding voice and always seems to be talking someone down, by speaking in a loud and domineering manner.
History:
As a child Ed had a rich loving family, he lived with his parents and his younger brother Tristen. When his younger brother turned 10, they discovered he had magic potential. This made his parents very proud and all of a sudden Tristen would get a lot more attention as if they didn’t care much about him anymore. However Tristen’s magical potential was far too great for his own good and things got out of hand when he was 12, at that time Edward was 2 years older than his brother.
It happened over night, while everyone was asleep Tristen was practicing his fire magic, this backfired and he burned down the entire house. Fortunately for Tristen he didn’t get hurt at all and managed to escape this house, he figured his family would wake up them selfs because of the ruckus he made. The parents didn’t hear anything, Edward however did just in time, when almost the entire house was on fire he managed to jump out the windows spraining his ankle in the process. As he limped around the house looking for his family he saw his brother standing outside looking at the fire, he was waiting for his family to come out of the burning house, but Edward jumped into conclusions thinking he did it on purpose. This, his magical potential and getting locked up drove Tristen insane.
A few moments later strange people arrived, they looked like knights, but were somehow different. They knocked out Tristen and took him away. One of the knights decided to check on Edward, who could hardly walk with his sprained ankle and decided to take him along for some medical attention.
Apparently these knights were known as Templar, mage hunters. Where ever magic was abused or someone his magical potential got out of hand, these Templar were send there to capture the mage and lock it up, but preferably kill the mage. Edward developed a hate towards magic, mages and his brother and therefore decided he wanted to became a Templar himself. Even though 14 was too young to start, they decided to train him because he had no place to go.
A templar is trained hard in the ways of normal combat and against mages, because the training is so hard they are infused with Mana. This makes them stronger, faster, heightened sense, a higher pain pain tolerance and more resistant to magic, it also gave them a particly set of skills which is infact magic, but the Templar Order says it are Divine Powers for battling mages. Simply put it turns them into ‘super humans’, but of course with certain side effects. The side effects differ from person to person and in Edward's case, they amplify his feelings, driving him fanatical in his quest.
Templar are known for doing almost anything to stop a Mage and Edward is known for going even further. Even though the templar council doesn’t entirely agree with his methods, he is the best Templar they have seen in decades and therefore they decided to keep him in the order.
When Edward turned 24, he became a Templar, now he was allowed to hunt Mages by himself. This was also the time, that his brother broke free and killed a lot of Templar in the process, he was the first mage that got out and that say’s a lot about it’s magical potential. His fanatical hatred for all things magical, has spurred him to go on a zealous quest of righteous vengeance to recapture his fugitive brother. Or to kill him if he refuses to cooperate. Silently, he wishes his brother won't cooperate...
Skills:
Righteous striking - Edward can infuse his weapon with holy energy (magic) and drain a spellcaster his magic point on each hit.
Righteous aura - Edward can active an aura that makes him even more resistant to magic, the aura also gives nearby mages a terrible headache making it a lot harder for them to cast magic. This aura has a 5 feer radius.
Holy smite - Edward can blast someone with holy energy, knocking them on the ground or even stun them when they have a weak mind.
Heal - Edward can heal light wounds.
