Name: Shaya McFerral
Age: 26
Race: Hybrid Human
Description: Darkness. In one word that is this woman. She is lithe and agile, but painted in a shadow. She is seen, always, wearing solid black, from head to foot. Her face hidden in the shadows of a midnight shroud. No inch of flesh is visible. Even her hands are covered with black leather gloves. She carries with her, beneath her ebony cloak, a menacing blade, forged like a serpent, twisting and deadly. The hilt is a snake head with blood rubies for eyes. In her boot a smaller version of the sword can be found. In her pack she carries a mysterious orb of unknown origin.
Personality: Cold, uncaring, and often times cruel. But this is only the Shaya most come to know. The few that get close to her find someone completely different hidden in the shadow. She is vulnerable, frightened and grieving. Her sense of humor, while it may come off as twisted, exists none-the-less. At moments some are awarded with a glimpse of what Shaya used to be.
Skills: Shaya is a skilled fighter, even if it is a dirty one. She wields her light blades with ease and grace. Underneath the surface however there are other skills, some much more frightening. Fel-magic flows through her, the magic of demons, it is a dark power, granted to her by the entities that possess her person. These entities are inhabitants of the underworld. She does not tap into the fel-magic often, for fear that the terror within will gain control and she would be lost forever. The fel-magic has also given her the ability to trap her soul in a vessel outside of the body, granting her the ability to survive grave wounds, but this method also poses another great threat, should someone come to possess this vessel, her life will literally be in their hands. Destruction of the vessel will mean certain death.
Background: Long ago, Shaya was a normal, happy, privileged girl. Daughter to a Baron, raised in the Garrison where her father assembled his army and trained them to be great fighters. It was a happy life. Yet it did not last. The garrison was one day attacked by a stealthy enemy and Shaya's father was assassinated in his bed. The death of her husband sent Shaya's mother into a downward spiral. She eventually lost her mind, and was taken away to a place for people who were no longer desired. This left Shaya, still young, it was decided she would be charged to the Abbey and there raised quietly. Yet the circumstances of the fall of her family haunted her endlessly, and so when it was time for her to strike out on her own she found herself chasing the past with a thirst of vengeance. Her journey took her to places unknown, places that shaped her, jaded her, and changed her forever. When she returned, she was different, she was this woman who lived in darkness and avoided others. She had skill and need so she became a hired sword, using her abilities to provide for herself and her habits.
