Detailed Physical Description:[/u]
Overall, Gimara's frame is very slight and lightweight. Her arms are thin and end in unusually long fingers. Her human portions look weak in comparison to her more bird-like parts. Her surprisingly strong back bears two large feathered wings. The pale skin of her upper body blends almost seamlessly into powdery white down at the base of her wings and from her stomach down. Her small waist, muscled legs and bird-like tail are clearly not human. Her feet end in the long and wicked talons of a bird of prey. Her feathers gradually darken to bronze and brown at the ends, and this coloration is especially noticeable on the primaries of her wings.
Her thick bronze hair appears to have never met a comb and hangs about her face in a mass of windblown tangles. Her extraordinarily large eyes, round face, and sharp features give her a somewhat -like look. In an effort to remain inconspicuous, she usually tries to hide her wings beneath a large cloak whenever she finds herself in populated areas. The rest of her clothes are terribly shoddy pieces crafted by herself which include a blue stitched vest and a matching skirt made from a heavy, yet warm material. Around her neck hangs a necklace made from the carved bones of an elf.
Gimara carries the rest of her few possessions in a small wolf-skin satchel. These items include the ancient relics and precious trinkets she often deals in.
Personality:[/u]
Gimara is essentially a selfish, quick-tempered creature, though not inherently evil. She is extremely distrusting of humans and elves and her words and actions towards them occasionally border on hateful. She views humans and many other races as short lived simpletons and in most cases finds it perfectly acceptable to betray and use them.
Her primary motivation to seek these others out is driven by her greed for precious objects and her curiosity of the novelties of other cultures.
Special Abilities:[/u]
Because of what she is, Gimara is gifted with keen eyesight and her strong wings grant the ability to fly. Although this allows her to to travel quickly and avoid many obstacles, she is unable to carry much weight and therefore is forced to either keep her possessions to a minimum or hide them in a stash.
Her only physical weapons are those she was born with, mainly her powerful talons, each one about the length of a man's finger. In addition to her more obvious natural abilities, she has a very strong voice and a shriek that can (in close quarters) prove temporarily deafening.
At her belt, she carries a bone knife, which she often claims to use for little, dark magics and cantrips.
History:(May be added to at a later time)
Gimara's earliest memories are of the mountain pass where she was born. The flock she was birthed to had haunted the pass for an indeterminate number of years, preying on any unlucky travelers that happened through and then squabbling among themselves for the leftover spoils. Gimara was no different, forcefully taking whatever she decided she wanted and selfishly hoarding her prizes from those around her.
In time, she learned that by venturing from her flock's territory and seeking her own targets, she could act without worry of competition. Her flights gradually began to take her farther and farther from others of her kind, and she found contentment in the freedom that came with being alone. She chose her targets with great care, oftentimes using intimidation as much as violence as a means to get her way.
When she discovered that she could trade her treasures for new and different things, she was delighted. She used her outlandish appearance and threats of violence and dark curses to bully trades from those she met, rejoicing in how powerful it made her feel to see them so easily cowed and separated from their valuables. In a way, collecting and seeking out treasures became something of a game to her. This fueled her desire to set foot in the cities and villages of other races, not to 'take', but to 'trade' and witness the reactions of those she dealt with.
Her first attempts at this failed when her unusual appearance and sharp tongue earned her short lived and somewhat violent welcomes in nearby villages. Upon learning of her trade attempts after her return to her flock, she was quickly chased away. Their hatred of the idea of mingling with other races was both obvious and unforgivable. Gimara accepted this easily enough. If she couldn't have wealth and power among her own kind, she would simply have to seek it elsewhere.
