Brian walked slowly along the shoreline. The sky was blue, the birds were calling, and the water was rolling in along the coastline. He looked off to his right, watching the small traders and travellers walk the road. He himself enjoyed the water of his feet, the feel of the earth against his bare skin. A smile creeped across his face as he let the wind flow through his hair. The smell of salt was strong at this time of day, as the sun hit its peek in the sky.
He continued along the beach, looking over as civilization began to blot the beach. Markets and houses, a blacksmith could be seen. Brian made his way along closer to the shops, looking at the signs, the people. Taking in his surroundings. He watched the people, they're movements and attitudes. He made his way towards the blacksmith. Watching his converstation. Reactions to situations said alot about people, and about how they would treat him in certain situations. He watched as he slowly realized that this was no ordinary shop. It was definetely full of worthy items, all would be worth a pretty penny, but worth it all.

He had heard rumors of the wonders of this blacksmith’s shop. Perhaps there would be something crafted by this man that would ease his current troubles. It was a bold move but when one has eternity, one has many opportunities to recover ones losses.
With the heavy musk he had bought and his hood down, no one seemed to have noticed that he belonged in the grave. He must’ve stuck out in his suit of polished silver armor and scarlet cloak but there were no cries of alarm yet. People gave him the way and were a bit uneasy but that was typical.
As long as there were no angry mobs after him like last time, everything would be fine. He did not want bloodshed and his powers were getting harder to control by the day.
He entered the shop and as expected, it was filled with only the finest craftsmanship. Deraj wondered if the master blacksmith here was a dwarf. Money was no issue but finding what he needed was quite another thing. As he began to peruse he noticed a man that might possibly have stuck out more than him. He stood slightly taller than Deraj’s own personage and was a bit more muscular. The blue hair looked nice but he doubted if it was natural.

In the waters depths something stirred, awakening from a long slumped. A very old storm having washed the beast there, bubbles rising from the bed of the lake as the mud rose and the beast made its way to the surface. It would explore its new home later. Though as its head rises to the surface, it takes in a lung full of air. Soon noticing the civilization nearby, and the activity. Small unnoticeable ripples vibrating the water as he growled, and soon ducked under the water, heading in closer to the shore. [see if this works any e.e]

He ignored the blue haired man in all his fine dress and proceeded to look for anything of use. Eventually he ran into the smith. Deraj was right. He was a dwarf and a proud one at that. Flattery got Deraj anywhere he pleased. Unfortunately his silver tongue helped him to no avail. As wonderful and whimsical this dwarf’s work was, nothing was enchanted. He spat at the idea of incorporating magic into his craft. However, Deraj did find a curious mask of white gold that he purchased at a fair price. It fit his face perfectly and it’s features were as bold as his own.
This might arouse as much suspicion as would a man who appears to have a plague but it isn’t too often that a man gets chased out of town for being a bit eccentric or wanting to celebrate.
With nothing else to keep him here. Deraj decided to go down to the lake and think before he made his next move.

Kurner swam near the surface sail out of the water drawing in heat from the sun. Much like an alligator his eyes and nostrils stayed above the water. A small boat moved nearby and he ducked under the water. He needed food and this lake didn't provide him with his natural diets.
Moving in closer to the boat he easily stoped it. The men unboard frantic to what just happened! And to a loud cracking noise the bottom of the ship was easily ripped out. As it began to sink kurner circles around it eyeing the men waititng for one to fall or get close to the water.

Deraj looked about the serene lake. The world seemed to be at peace. The birds played on the air currents, the trees swayed in the gentle breeze, and the flowers were in bloom. At least I am not denied the visual pleasures. Suddenly out on the lake, a boat that was going along at a good clip merely stopped. Then there was the cracking of wood and the boat began to sink.
Deraj hated to get involved with the affairs of mortals like this. The mere sight and smell of him might send those poor souls back to that early grave he had just managed to pull them from. There was no one else near, as he had specifically chosen this spot to be alone with his thoughts. He could do nothing but watch as this tragedy unfolded.

The creaturr circled it like a shark remaining hidden but one the boat was mere feet from being engolfed in the lakes depths. The beast jumped out of the water wide jaws open sharp teeth driving into a mans skull. The momentum allowed the beast to easily fly over the ship dragging the man into the calm waters. While the few others recovered fome the sight they took the chance of hurrying to shore. Only one would make it the others dragged and held undrr till they drowned, their corpses littering the water. Along with the wreckage of their boat.

He watched on in horror. He could get no clear shot of the beast and if he attacked now, he would most likely kill those he had hoped to save. This wasn’t just for food. The bodies appeared to be ripped apart and merely left to float on the surface. Only one of the crewmembers actually made it to the land. He was out of breath but once he caught sight of the ghastly sight of the armored revenant that was Deraj, he managed to summon enough strength to run on into the village.
Deraj paid the man no heed and walked to the waters edge. He spoke in an imperious tone that shook the ground he stood upon. “Beast, demon, whatever you are, show yourself!”

The water rippled a few feet out from him, and soon the beast sail rose from the water, it was tattered from old fights or irritating fish. It appearently heard him, he'd raised from the water and chunks of flesh caught in its teeth. Enraged eyes watching him. Being called on like some mutt ticked it off even more but it didn't go onto the shore. Stopping a few feet from the shallows, he was curious by nature, this wasn't exactly a normal being who called him.

He saw the creature as it rose from the waters. It had come when addressed. It was no dumb beast. He could see it in its eyes. Perhaps he should show bit more decorum. Even in times of war there were certain codes of honor. He did not waver as it arose from the waters and dropped chunks of human flesh from its mouth, sloppy thing that it was.
“Sir, the least you could do is to have some respect for the lives you just took. My qualms with you do not concern the fact that you took life, man and beast alike do that on a daily basis. My issue here is that you are so wasteful with it. Have some discretion. Even in sparing or merely missing that one man, you only bring more unnecessary bloodshed.”

It was a full foot taller than him but Deraj was not intimidated. He stood his ground. “What have they done to deserve such a fate? What offense did they pay you? What unpardonable sin did they commit to be worthy of such an atrocity?"

“I have a hard time believing that those few overweight oafs slaughtered anything let alone thousands of your kind. If they were in your territory, I doubt they knew it. Personally I’ve never beheld your kind before. If I might be so bold, what do they call your people?"

He rumbled giving that some thought than shook his head, "I've been resting.. asleep for to long its hard to really remember..." he hissed, "I don't recall even being in this puddle much less this close to humans" he ducked into the water the sun begining to dry out his amphibious skin.
