(( Guys... there are other roleplayers in this thread, too D: ))
Willowsong just didn't understand why the demon wanted to attack her. Maybe it was because of her dreams. She constantly dreamed about demons. That must be why they filled her with so much fright. But now as she watched this... chimera, something odd filled Willowsong. Like with some other cursed people she had come across, this Chimera gave off that image too. Not that unholy aura, no... was it really with that demon?
Soundlessly descending to the ground where Willowsong had hidden her fur gown, the witch watched the chimera for a bit longer, watching as it portrayed its hunger. Why had it followed Willowsong? Was it the common aura?
In any case, maybe Willowsong could tame it. Entering the state of transformation, Willowsong begun to take on the form of a human again. It was a form she preferred when talking, as only human vocal chords were capable of such. Granted, elves and dwarves were, too, but Willowsong always found it easier to turn into a human. Plus, if she came across another human, they usually reacted a bit more friendly.
When the uncomfortable process was over, Willowsong quietly slipped into her gown once more, then peered around the tree trunk. "Are you... a demon?" she asked, her voice frightened but still loud enough to be heard.
She wanted her home back. All her books and drawings that had kept her company of the years... she didn't want that to become the domain of a demon.

The Chimera raised his nose. He could smell her first. A sweet scent, not of someone who spent a lot of time with other beings. He turned his head towards her voice. Squinting his eyes some, almost looking as though he was glaring.
“Your about the first to ask if I was,” he chuckled, as if there was a joke spoken. Than folded his front legs and laid in the snow, “I’m use to people calling me it, but I do not believe I am… What might you be?” She wasn’t hostile towards him so he wasn’t hostile towards her.
Brutos tried not to seem hostile. Yet he could be napping and come off hostile. He at least tried not to scare her away. Laying down was the best way he could make himself seem smaller, and also less intimidating. At least he tried, though he worried.

“Your about the first to ask if I was,”
Willowsong watched as the chimera... lay down. Maybe to cool itself? No, himself... it was definately male. "I don't believe that," Willowsong replied timidly, still hiding behind her tree trunk.
“I’m use to people calling me it, but I do not believe I am… What might you be?”
"An inhabitant of this forest," Willowsong said, tilting her head slightly, "I don't meet a lot of people. Mostly because they despise me."
Pausing, the witch noted that they weren't that different. Willowsong was hated for the myths that surrounded her name, and this chimera was probably feared for his appearance. "I prefer to stay in my cave," she continued, shivering visibly, "But the body I tried to eat rose from the dead and claimed my home and friends as his followers. Are you one of his followers? You killed two of my friends."
She spoke rather calm and soothing, as if she didn't really care that the chimera had killed her friends. If it only killed to eat, then she understood that. She herself slayed deer to eat their flesh in wolf or spider form.

Brutos smiled, “Believe it, many think I’m a mindless monster” his smile wasn’t exactly the most pleasant sight. And he soon stopped, he still didn’t wish to spook her. He laughed at the thought of her words. “People despise you? I don’t see why they would… such a small fair creature as yourself… you look quite human.”
He frowned some. Visibly flinching to her words.
“You killed two of my friends.”
He rumbled slightly, “I did not mean to… winters are hard times, I have a stomach that can consume just about anything” he chuckled, “I wanted something other than bark is all.” he lowered his head some. “No I am not, I don’t even know the two back there. I escaped my captors and I doubt my so called master is anywhere near here.”
Brutos grunted, “Please forgive my actions to your friends. If I had known I wouldn’t have…” he trailed off sighing. A bad first impression than, his claws pawing about the snow some.

The full moon was now high in the sky as they set out from the cave and into the dark forest. At first, they trudged on in an understanding silence content just to be in the presence of each other. Without the wind, the forest was silent. Deraj was about to speak, if only to break up the stagnant air about them, when he heard the murmuring of voices from over a hill. He turned to Vexxus and without speaking jerked his head towards the ridgeline.

As they crept toward the noises, silently and cautiously, Vexxus caught the last part of a sentence, "I wouldn’t have…"
She would have went into shadow form to get closer, but she needed a rest from it, since the last escapade had taken so much out of her.
Was that the... Crouched behind some thick brush, Vexxus and Deraj could plainly see...the Chimera, laying in the snow, and the woman, peeking out from behind a tree in front of it. What is this...? Vexxus was puzzled at why the woman wasn't afraid of this beast, which, in her opinion, was much more intimidating in appearance than Deraj. Even taking into account that Deraj was the Lich leader of the undead. She listened intently.

“Believe it, many think I’m a mindless monster”
"No..." Willowsong agreed, her body still half-way hidden by the tree trunk. "But are you a good monster?"
“People despise you? I don’t see why they would… such a small fair creature as yourself… you look quite human.”
The witch tilted her head, apparently surprised at the compliment, before answering. "Human?" Willowsong giggled, "I'm not human. They may not despise me as much as you, but..." She trailed off, figuring better than to tell him about the legends that were whispered around her.
“I did not mean to… winters are hard times, I have a stomach that can consume just about anything”
Willowsong nodded in agreement, apparently not mad at her loss. Of course she was sad, but she couldn't hate a fellow life form for trying to eat in the winter. Even though she would have preferred for him to attack an old animal as opposed to one trying to help her. But how should he have known?
“I wanted something other than bark is all.”
The witch nodded again, but still remained behind her tree to protect herself in case he suddenly attacked her after all.
“No I am not, I don’t even know the two back there. I escaped my captors and I doubt my so called master is anywhere near here.”
The witch contemplated this, then shrugged slightly. "You had a master? You are not a normal being, then? Are you magically created? How can you think?" she asked in wonder.
“Please forgive my actions to your friends. If I had known I wouldn’t have…”
"You are forgiven," Willowsong was eager to reply, "Please, kill them faster... and more painlessly next time, though..."
Had she been a more attached woman, one may have thought it to be heartless to even think of the beast killing another of her friends. But thus was nature. Harsh, unforgiving, but it had its miracles, too...
She wanted to continue, but she suddenly heard a branch break and spun around to look. Her instincts and senses trained and honed by the harsh life in the forest, Willowsong spotted the on-lookers and gasped. The demon had returned! And he had another of his followers with him! Stepping beside the tree, Willowsong snatched her bag out of the snow and begun running again. "Demon!" she cried as she continued her escape through the forest. It was hell for her bare, small feet, but anything was better than becoming a slave for the dead.

"But are you a good monster?"
Brutos gave a hearty chuckled, “Yes I am a good monster I suppose” he continued to listen to her. smiling to himself at the thought of such a small creature, being despised as much as him. He crossed his legs, relaxing some. Warm thick skin melting the snow that touched or tried settling on his plated body.
"You had a master? You are not a normal being, then? Are you magically created? How can you think?"
He squinted his eyes, though it was thoughtfully. He rumbled somewhat, “Not a master… I was not naturally made… Humans tried to take being got into their own hands” he sighed softly, “If you can believe it I was once a normal human being… Normal life and everything… Though my body has been twisted into this” he gestured to himself, “I wish to keep what humanity I have left… but being branded as a monster doesn’t help…”
"Please, kill them faster... and more painlessly next time, though..."
He bowed his head in a nod, “I really did not mean to cause them much pain… but I can only eat one at a time, and I thought my blow would kill it the first time…”
Brutos than offered his hand out, “I am a lot kinder than I may look… Animal instincts allow me to detect many things such a fear… there’s no real reason as to be afraid of me.” He raised his head some, a familiar scent reaching him than the noise. He looked around a moment, soon spotting what the woman had.
“Demon!”
He growled to himself, watching her run off but stood. Not looking to be caught off guard again. Nor did he fallow the woman in fear it might just spook her even more. Though he didn’t like the fact he most likely lost someone to talk to, but it didn’t bother him.

The two became aware of their presence despite their attempts at discretion. The girl again fled into the forest shouting “Demon!” despite carrying on a pleasant discourse with a beast that in all appearance was the very archetype of madness and destruction. Indeed, she had seemed to be on amazing terms with the creature that had so recklessly destroyed her “friends” and yet she ran in fear of two human like beings that had done nothing but help to defend her against needless slaughter.
The chimera turned toward them as they stood atop the hill and growled. Deraj could do nothing but sigh and bend forward in a frustrated exhaustion. I have no desire to kill this creature after knowing that it won’t harm the girl. If I pursue her in this weather, I’m more likely to give her a heart attack than assure her of our good intentions. He straightened up and gave a quick sideways look to Vexxus as if trying to discern what she thought their next actions should be.

As the woman fled, and the monster turned, Vexxus heard Deraj give a large sigh of frustration. She burst out in laughter. Hell, this is entertaining....a Chimera....defending a woman whose friends he just attempted to consume. My life has been boring and morbid previously, in comparison. One glance at Deraj told her that he was done with this escapade.
Vexxus stood to her full height, which was indeed not very high, and spoke.
"Go, we do not wish to fight you. We were going to attempt to save the woman from you," She motioned, thrusting an open hand in the direction the woman had ran, "But it appears that she is saved." Her arm dropped back to her side. She stood, smiling, and thinking for a second before speaking again.
"Please, will you make sure she knows that her home is no longer inhabited by demons?" She said, in a more serious tone.

Brutos stopped growling, just looking towards the two. He nodded though, hesitating a moment, than went about fallowing the young woman’s tracks. He was in no hurry, he didn’t wish to run up on her and frighten her off.
Though after a few yards of walking. He stopped and clawed about for food, digging up snow and mud, biting and snapping up any worms or leaves. There was nothing large enough that could fill his belly enough. So he resorted to his old tactics of eating bark and bug filled mud. Though once he was finished he continued to search for her, though didnt have much hope of finding her.
