Hungery Beasts.

Brutos trudged along through the snow. The fire in its belly keeping its body warm. Though it dragged its feet along through the piles of frozen liquid. Spirals of smoke rose from his open jaws as he breathed. He was starving, unable to find himself food. At times stopping and looking at the ground, pawing it up.

Grubs… Roots… anything? Dead leaves… Anything!?

He hissed, his temper boiling over. Smoke rising from his nostrils. He continued searching, at times pushing over trees and ripping them apart. Eating any insects or hibernating mammals inside. Pawing over rocks eating what he could. Sniffing out for anything bigger. Though as he continued walking, soon enough he’d find a carcass. An old rotting corpse of some unlucky being. He walked over, the ice had preserved it well. He began to drool some.

Eating humans is bad…

He jerked his head back, than tensed fighting with himself. Soon coming to a conclusion.

Their already dead…

He smiled grabbing the corpse and sitting, ripping bits of flesh off, jerking his head back. Unable to actually chew. He had to swallow bits whole. A terrifying sight to some. A monster in the forest enjoying what dinner it had hunted down and killed.

"My my...somebody's ...." a mischievous voice came echoing through the trees, like glass mixing with gravel in the pit of some dark abyss. Sitting on what seemed to be a charred dead tree was a young man, perhaps in his twenties, with long silver hair and cunning red eyes that glowed with hellfire. Gilashi smiled, though it was freezing outside and he wore only his leather vest, boots, and pants he was perfectly warm. He rose sidestepping around the beast before him as he grinned, fanged teeth glistening. "My my....now what could you possibly be my friend?" He chuckled deeply as he returned to his seat grinning, crossing a leg over the other. "Oh come no...you seem a rather large fearsome beastie...must you really be humbled to leftovers? Why don't you go get yourself a warm meal..." he grinned devilishly and laughed once more, the evil noise rising above the trees.

Brutos jerked sharply at the voice. Turning towards him and reflexively snarling. Yet caught himself and stopped. He had dropped the corpse and stood, eyeing him closely. Uneasy now, he began to growl, “Killing a sentient being is not humane” he wanted to hold onto what little humanity remained in him, he saw what happened to the others. The blood lust, the killings, the hell they created.

Gilashi rolled his eyes and waved his hand in a movement as if wiping away the remark that insulted him so. "I never said it was humane, I only said it would be fun..." he laughed and in an instant was behind the fearsome creature and whistled a high pitched note that could shatter the ears of many. "My grandma, what big teeth you have..." he laughed once more and continued examining him. "Who needs humanity? Far too boring if you ask me. Breathing in all that air, sucking down water as if it was vital to existence or something..." He crouched before the beast and stroked the corpse with the back of a gloved hand. "All I mean is this fellow was pretty sentient a few moments ago as well, and whats the difference with extinguishing one more pitiful flickering flame thats probably going to blow out soon anyway?"

Vain growled. Like this...person would ever know. Vain had killed that human a couple nights ago. Quietly she clambered down from her perch in the tree top and down to the two people talking.

"So you think killing mundanes is just all that and more do you? What about having to kill them to live?" Vain barked, watching the man pet the corpse like it was his dog.

The cold didn't at all affect Vain, even though she was corpse white. "Some of us are forced to kill humans just to live and yet you laugh at human death..." Vain glared. Maybe she was being hypocritcal, but she didn't care. She was a . That was different. It was still fairly light out, so her senses still weren't as sharp as they would be when the sun went down...She stared, her green eyes unwavering.

Brutos frowned, the invasion of personal space and a time to eat. Irritating, though he maintained his mood instead of snapping at them. "I don't eat LIVING sentient.. thats all there is to it." he snorted at Gilashi motioning to the side with his muzzle to step away from his meal. He didn't mind using his large form for intimidation when it called for it.

The intrusion was about to call for it though.

Vain titled her head to the side. She thought about saying more, but then decided against it. She turned her back. "I'm not here to compete with you." Vain said. "I just happened to hear your conversation." She bounded off before things got ugly, disappearing into the forest.
