James grimaced at the feel of Dez touching him, after all he had done he rarely had the privelege to speak, let alone touch him. He frowned deeply as he mentioned Raine's safety. he did not know if he was threatening her, or if he was actually trying to help. There was no way to be sure after his betrayal earlier in the forest. he kept his eyes and focus foremost on the woman though, waiting for his answers, and making sure no mover toward Raine was made.

"Oh," added Dez, looking back at James. "and time is of the essence, James." Dez stood there, waiting for James to act.

Raine blinked, shocked of what was going on around her. James and it seemed even Dez wanted to protect her.
Even with the blade at her throat the woman smirked. "Well now. Not one this time, but two brave heroes attempting to save the beautiful young girl. How, tiring." She muttered. Suddenly water swirled around them.
"Dez, James look out!" Raine called and ran to deflect the water magic. She held up her wand, which transformed into a crystal bladed sword. Using two hands she used it as a shield around the three as the water attempted to swirl around them, tearing them apart. But the shield activated by the sword held.
"Tch, such a impudent girl." The woman stood a few feet away, now free from James' blade. "Oh to answer your question boy. The question right back at you is, do you really want to know? Especially since you both are on the wrong side to begin with." She said coldly.
Raine frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"Oh? Even the half breed doesn't know herself? That's almost funny." the woman said, not even smiling at all.
"Stop evading his question now out with it!" Raine growled.
"Well now, that's rude. But I suppose that's what half demons are, arent they? I'll tell you just to see the expression in your eyes little Laraine. You are a threat." she said simply.
"I already told Grandma that I don't want to be a part of the Risk clan!" Raine hissed.
"Oh no, Not a threat to the Risk clan,. A threat to the world.."

"JAMES!!" Dez shouted in the flurry of magic being thrown. "WE DON'T HAVE TIME FOR FIGHTING! WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE NOW, FOR YOU, AND RAINE'S SAFETY." Dez looked at Raine, and spoke. "Raine, we need to leave." Dez looked at his palm, the black D was still there, good. He looked back to Raine and then James, suddenly ordering. "NOW." Dez's voice, when speaking this final order, had taken a darker, even demonic tone, that didn't seem to even belong to Dez.

Shinen was very tired, and in very much pain. She had just run from her own clan, the Kallah. She had a partner, as each Elven had one. It was some type of buddy system to make sure everyone was safe. Shinen was the princess, and she was partnered with someone of the same power. When they fought, Shinen had gotten lucky despite her injuries. She had made her partner run away, but not before he stabbed her. Twice. This was the reason for the two fairly large white bandages that covered her stomach, and arm. Her violet blood was just beginning to bleed through, and she was extremely weak.
Her Elven ears were plain in sight, not afraid to let them be seen in this dark forest. This was her territory... Or at least the outskirts of her territory. Even if she wasn't in her territory, she didn't care much. Her light blue hair rested across her shoulders and on the ground, where she laid beside a willow tree. Her slender body was sprawled across the roots, one arm above her head, the other at her stomach. It was clear she was in pain as her chest heaved irregularly and heavily. The knives that her partner had stabbed her with were filled with an enchantment that was coated along the outsides of the wound. She didn't have anything to clean it with, so the enchantment would kill her slowly, minute by minute.
She wished she could call for help, her honey eyes closing a moment before reopening. They were closing, and she knew that if she fell unconscious, she would remain that way for the rest of her life. Literally.

James stood in silence as all the havoc and mayhem raged on around him he closed his eyes in pain, his head a vortex of fury and anguish. The noise and commotion continued erupting around him. He couldn't take it, the rushing blasts of the magic, the clashing of steel and crystal against each other, Dez screaming at them, commanding him. A prince being ordered by this scum?! he felt the rage boiling over as he sensed Raine in ever increasing danger. His eyes rolled into the back of his head, as he fell to his knees clutching his head. He couldn't take it. There was one noise rising above the rest that pushed him over the edge. It was a steadily lessening beat of a weakening heart. He shut his eyes as the darkness overtook him.
For a single moment, James was back in his mind, standing before Gilashi. Gilashi did not have the look of satisfaction he usually did, nor did he seem as smug or willing to goof off or act all high and mighty. He merely sneered, muttering. "You owe me kid... One free ride, but that's it. Don't get used to it." With that, he walked forward, and the scene vanished.
THe eyes opened, a deep blood red once more. The silver hair grew and whipped in the wind of the battle around him. Gilashi began to raise, practically hovering in the air, red energy swirling around him. he quickly rushed forward, and as if snapping a twig, grabbed the woman by the neck and crushed her throat before throwing her to the ground and tearing her apart to a degree of dismemberment which would be inappropriate to describe in words. He then walked to the small boy and backhanded him with such force to send him crashing against a tree. "You do not tell us what to do mortal." With that, he left for the forest . He spotted the source of the accursed beating, a small elf girl. He nearly killed her, but resisted the urge as she was already clearly dying. He instead picked her up and sprinted back towards Raine and the boy. He threw her to the ground in the clearing as he finally sunk back to his knees, his eyes closing...
James opened his eyes, back to normal once more. He gasped for breath, looking around. SO many questions lurked in his head. WHy did GIlashi help him? What does Dez want? Who is this new girl? He shook them away and remembered what was really important. Raine. He ran over to her and began scanning her for wounds, trying to hide the fact he was crying. "Raine, are you okay?":

Dez looked in total shock. "Jesus..." He said, walking to the mangled body. "It all happened so fast.." Dez paused, looking at the corpse in horror, but also a hint of interest. He then remembered what he had to do. His mission still had to be completed. "Raine." He said, looking to Raine. "We need to go to the church of this town, and clear everyone out of it." Dez walked over to Raine, speaking to her in a rushed tone. "Raine, if this works...it will save you from these demons." He said, pointing at the corpse. Dez turned and started to walk away. "Come on, we have some work to do."

James growled turning to Dez, he looked back at Raine. "No Raine. I Don't trust him. He tried to threaten us in the forest. His mission was to kill you before, who says he still isn't on that mission? Please Raine, don't listen to him." he looked deep into her eyes worried. They had escaped this encounter, but he didn't know when the next one would be. Now it seemed there was a new threat. Dez. He could not lose Raine, it would tear him apart inside. He would die for her, and he would certainly kill Dez for her if he had to.

Dez turned back to James quickly. "Actually James, I want you there too." He replied. "I need you there in order for this to work," Dez looked at his palm, the D was fading. He was running out of time. He looked back to James, and quickly walked over to him. "Listen James, I know you don't trust me because of what happened in the forest. But I want to help you," He pointed to Raine. "and Raine. Now please, lets stop playing games brotha', and let me help you and Raine." Dez looked deep into James's eyes with an almost concerned look. "Raine's safety depends on it."

Raine looked from one boy to the other, unsure of who to believe. Also, her Aunt's last words seemed to be ringing in her ears. What did she mean by what she said.
Did she somehow mean I would destroy the world? That can't be possible. I'm just a girl, a filthy half breed. I am nothing important like that....
She looked back up at the boys, specifically at James. He was so worried about her, when he asked if she was alright and then began to study every inch of her, as if looking for wounds. It made her feel special. She reached up and touched James gently on the side of his face. "James, please calm down. I'll be okay. I don't fully trust Dez either." She added to Dez. "Sorry Dez." then turned back to James. "But I want to at least hear him out. I want to be free from my family, if he knows a way I want to at least hear it before I shoot it down. Trust me James." she turned to Dez. "Before we go anywhere please explain it in detail Dez. I know we are short on time but I want to know what you know."

James smiled gently, closing his eyes as Raine stroked his cheek. For a moment, he was in heaven. But He came crashing back down as she suggested they stay and listen to Dez. He knew it, that she would still believe Dez over him. And why? Because James was a killer, when Dez had not even shown violence in front of Raine. No, to her he was a Saint, and James a stupid beast for protection. The thoughts and facts only further tore out his heart as he drew away walking back towards the woods trying to get as far as possible away from them both. "Of course Dez...weave your lies and plunge us to our deaths. You have already tried to make a move upon our lives, so it should be easy once you fool us to do it again. I'm sure that your reward has something to do with that D upon your hand. But go on, spin your drivel and lies..." He frowned and leaned against a tree glaring at Dez before looking over at the young girl Gilashi had drug in. Was she alive?

Dez looked at his palm, the D was still there, fading, but there. "Honestly, sista' I think it would be better if we talked about it out of the public eye. But if you really must know, I will tell you." Dez looked at Raine and James. "James, none of what I have said has been lies. I wanted some damn answers brotha', thats it." Dez pulled back, noticing the aggression he had just shown. "Alright, when I was 8, I worked in a church. I worked there with my parents all my life." Dez looked down at the ground. "But one day, when I was lighting one of the candles in the church, it fell on the ground. Within minutes, the whole church was ablaze. I freaked, I didn't know what to do so I just ran but-...but then I remembered how my parents were in there. I could hear them, burning, screaming for help..." Dez looked back up to Raine, trying to finally make his point. "When I went back into the flaming church, I couldn't find my parents anywhere, but someone-...something, grabbed me out of the flames. He-...it held me down onto the ground. I tried to fight it but it was too strong. As it held me down, it inscribed this onto my hand." Dez held up his palm to show the fading 'D'. "It then finally spoke. Its voice was the sound of a thousand blood filled screams. This 'D'..." He looked back to his palm. "Raine, this D will change you to a full blooded human." Dez then looked to Raine. "But we must hurry. We need to get to the church, and clear everyone out." He looked to James. "James I want you there too." Dez looked at both of them. "Whatever happened, happened. Lets move."

James stared ina we at the boy's story. he did not know if he told the truth, but he could feel the pain in his words were very real. he too knew the feeling of losing one's parents. he closed his eyes, taking a few deep breathes before turning to Raine. 'Well Raine, it is up to you. It is your decision. Is this what you really want?"

Dez looked to Raine, eagerly awaiting a response. He knew if Raine didn't take his offering, he would fail, and, he would be as good as dead now. "Sista' why wouldn't you want to rid these demons from your life?" Dez walked over to the corpse and kicked it as he spoke. "This is not a family member. This," Dez pointed at the body "is a monster, and is nothing like you. Now please, lets stop playing games and get on with it." He looked down. "I need this as much as you do."
