Unable to come to terms with itself as to why it reasons, or why it thinks instead of reacting. He isolated himself, trying to find the real him-- the wolf him. He was strong enough mentally, to subdue the ideas of his intelligent side, by changing his environment from a wintery scene to a forest zone. Here, and alone without a pack, he struggles to stay alive. He is learning things that he would never of had to learn if he stayed. By staying in survival mode he was able to lock away any unnecessary thought, for having a large brain burned so much energy as it was, and becoming more intelligent would make him need to eat more. He had to react like an animal, the wild was not the place to learn to become like a human. Not without help.
He continually walked, trying to find anything he could scavenge, or any small animal he could easily dine on. He wasn't only competing with other animals, but with monsters in the forest as well. He soon found a ruffed grouse's nest. The hen was laying on her eggs.
The wolf watched from afar, and slowly moved in for the kill. Once he felt that he could charge her, he did, jaws first like a land shark. Though she put up a fight, beating her wings very loudly, her beak was small, and his teeth were large. She slowly fell into a limp at his jaw's crushing bites. Her small claws hardly scratching past his fur. He sucked up the juices of her blood, and ate everything besides the feathers that fell off during the fight. He licked his teeth as he crushed ten eggs one by one, licking the yoke, and shredding up the hatchlings. He never thought once about their lives, how significant they were, or how insignificant they were. He was animal, and this was life.

Fallon layed by a tree thinking, about her family, about her life. She didn't know where she was headed in life but frankly, she didn't care. Fallon enjoyed being free. Nothing but the weight of her bow on her back. She smiled at this thought and stood up. A beautiful morning sun shone above and she was rather relaxed. Then her stomach made a god awful sound and she figured it would be a decent time to eat.
Fallon looked around, for any sign of life, and to her right she spotted bird tracks. As she got closer, she realized, that next to the grouse tracks were large wolf prints. Fallon smiled, out of any wildlife she loved the wolf most of all. Noble beasts with mixed feelings. She can remember several times where she would run and play with these beasts. Ignoring her stomach she proceeded to track and find this animal. To see if it got the decent meal it was after.
Fallon spied over a large brush of ferns to see a large, hazy, wolf licking its paws. Birds scattered over the floor, and crushed egg shells. She smiled, but it changed when she noticed that this wolf was different. It was all alone, and its behaviors set it out to be different. Did this wolf choose to be alone, or was left behind? Fallon didn't know so she inched a little closer to see if she could find out.

The wolf finished off all the small birds. All that was left was the bones. He had swallowed some feathers, but the wolf's stomach had ways of getting rid of it from the stomach later. He licked the last egg, just to make sure there was nothing left, then he licked his nose and muzzle which now had light blood stains. It would go away eventually, but it tasted good. The wolf could hold around fifty pounds of meat, so he wasn't technically full, though the meal satisfied him.
The wolf then caught sent of something. He smelled a female human. He had come upon humans before, humans with pets, kind and mean alike. As she inched forward he then caught sound of her. He turned his head in the direction of the female. His tail raised and wagged like a stiff pendulum. Though she was hidden behind bushes he couldn't see her well, but smelling her was enough vision for him. It was natural to follow the nose before eyes or ears.

Fallon moved forward, she came through the brush of ferns and into veiw. She crouched down and moved on the balls of her feet and the tips of her fingers. She was eye level with the beast, and she locked eye contact with it. To draw its attention she held out her hand. She knew it might bite her hand, yet it might not. Considering she posed no threat, she hoped it wouldnt.
Fallon had worked with several wolves before. they had always seemed dangerous at first, then they warmed up, and would play and nuzzle her. She just had to speak thier language, and Fallon can pratically speak wolf. She smiled and began to bark. It was more of a yelp, a welcoming noise to most of the dog family. It was a sign of friendliness, and comfort. Just something she had learned and picked up.

When the girl put out her hand, the wolf was about to cautiously move forward to allow his nose to lead. He put his foot forward, then-- the girl barked. He put his head low, but his tail still up.
The wolf took a step back. She barked a higher toned bark than one which was deep, that meant territorial. It was also slightly higher than other low bark, that merely meant 'I'm here'. All those types of barks came from dogs, and so did the one she used.
He had heard that kind of bark before, it invited play, and attention. Any wolf that barked this way must have been influenced by nearby domesticated dogs, as the human territory continued to grow. It is always easier to live a dog's life than a wolf's. Only if food was scarce, he would allow himself to be influenced by dogs. As dogs have mastered cohabitating with humans, they guaranteed survival. But he is managing just fine. Right now, dogs were strange, and so were humans.
If he was a dog, or genuinely affected by dogs mentally, he would have matched that playful, active energy, but he was wolf-- a pure wolf. The bark was a turn off, though the hand was interesting and polite-- past memories of the strange dogs from the village caused him to steer away from her. He steered away from the dogs that made the sound, unwilling to co-exist with their mind-frame. That mind was different than his, and sought human attention, human help. Help that he didn't need, trust that he didn't seek.
So what he did with the dogs, he did with her. He put his head up, looked away, and back at her to check if she had moved, before slowly turning away to begin walking.

FAllon tilted her head to the side, it seemed to be wary of her. She knew that he thought humans were strange. At first, when she put her hand out, the wolf was tempted to come over, but backed away as she tried to speak out to it. This one was different. Did it think that she was harmfull, or something it shouldnt communicate with? Wolf emotions were difficult to decipher. So she thought of what a wolf would do. She had recently encountered a pale white female, and as a sign of the play female wolf had layed on her back and rolled in the grass. Fallon decided to try this. Just as the wolf turned away and walked off Fallon plooped to the ground and hung her tounge out. She then rolled vigoursly in the weeds. Hoping to attract his attnetion. If not she would just follow him. She wasnt afraid of a attack. just as long as she didnt pose a threat.

Curiosity got the best of him. Before he started to walk away, she plopped down in the one of the most submissive pose a canine could give. It welcomed him, showing that she posed no threat and that she was willing to give him the opportunity to express himself.
Even if she didn't understand this to the full extent, she was letting her instincts lead her and the more she would do this, the more wiser about nature she could get. She messed up, but she didn't let that bother her. Because of this the wolf sensed nothing wrong with her.
He came up to her, letting his nose lead. He sniffed her belly and came to her face, sniffing her mouth. He read the usual, a healthy person, but he also read that she had been around a few animals.
His tail was still up, and he set his paw along her shoulder, chest area, when he noticed that she posed no threat.

Fallon watched as the wolf gently and carefully came up to her. He smelled over her, starting at her belly and at her face. Fallon smiled and giggled a little as his whiskers tickled her nose. The girl tried not to tense up as he moved over her. Any triggered motion could send the wolf a wrong message.
The mind of a animal is much different than a humans. Most dont understand that they rely on instinct to guide them. They dont think things out, they dont have plans. Animals go where thier senses and gut feelings tell them to.
The girl gently reached out to touch the beast. To express that she didnt want to hurt him, only to befriend the beast. She bit her bottom lip to see if this animal could trust her lttle by little.

The wolf merely watched to see what her hand would do. He didn't allow his nose to sense anything. He followed her hand intensely with his eyes. He lifted his lip ever so slightly, but he didn't snarl or growl. His ears were erect and his tail was taut, preparing for the touch. For it was unknown how much force she would touch him with. He wasn't used to humans touching him, but it appeared that he was leting her, since she stayed on her back.

Fallon didnt move fast, she tried to move slow not to startle the beast. It was odd, the wolf was on the defense, yet he was letting her try to touch him. And Falon did, with little pressure she touched the hair on his muzzle, just above his nose. She slowly stroked it, with ontly her finger tip, grazing softly. She slowly smiled, and moved her hand down to the scruff of fur around his neck. Her arm, bwing awfully close to his teeth, flinched slightly. She really hoped he wouldnt get feared or negative vibes from her. She looked into the beasts eyes, which was a bad idea, but she really couldnt help but to.

The touch on his muzzle was a strange one. It was a weak one, that didn't seem like she was going to hurt him. He kept allowing what ever she was doing. The more she touched him, the less tense he became. He took his paw off of her. When she managed to the scruff of his neck, it felt really good. But because he wasn't used to the sensation he moved away for her, and finished itching it himself with one of his back paws. Afterward, he licked as close to the area as he could as if he assumed she was dirty, and itched it again. He stood up and faced her, though his body was turned away from her. Since she was currently still in the last position, their heads were leveled to each other's. His eyes looked at hers. His tail became leveled with his back.

Fallon smiled as the beast started to scrath the area himself. He licked it, and with his back paw scratched it again. The fluff around his neck moving with each stroke. The wolf faced her, but his body turned away, and Fallon sat cross legged. She smiled and looked at the wolf's eyes, how intiguing they were. Shetilted her head to the side, and studied this fine animal, curious as to what he was to do. Being out on his own was weird enough. The girl smiled wide and slowly reached into her bag on her hip. She slowly pulled out a small dead ferret. Blood seeping out from her arrow wound. She dug her fingers into the wound hole, and ripped out some raw meat. She took a small bite, grinned and placed the rest on the ground. Using her fott she slid it closer to the beast, as a offering to him. Even if he was full or not.

The wolf gazed at her as she brought out the meat. Then he looked in his own direction, as if he was going to leave. But the smell taunted him. It almost seemed as if the wolf grinned slightly for a moment, as he walked towards the girl yet again. He kept his eye on her, as he placed his nose on the ferret. The wolf started chewing into the animal. Unsure of when he will eat again, and the birds from before did not satisfy his belly. He tore the limbs, and lapped his tongue against his face, wiping up hairs and blood that stuck to his muzzle. It was not long before he finished gulping the creature.

Fallon smiled wide as the wolf began to smell and taste the flesh. It pleased her that she could contribute to helping a animal. Fallon tilted her head to the side, sat cross legged with her palms on the ground between her legs. As soon as the wolf finished off with the ferret she smiled and slowly stood up, hoping she wouldnt scare off the wolf. She didnt want to create any more tension between them as is. She really wanted to make peace between her and this animal. Very cunning and honorable, the wolf is. A noble creature of teamwork and surviving. Fallon slowly reached out to pet the back of the wolf, daring to make a change between them.

At this point, the girl was surely different than the humans he had met before. He was certain that she did not seek to harm him at all. So he let her pet him again. He accepted her touch without hesitation.
