Name: Elysillien
Sex: Female
Race: Seemingly human.
Age: Appears to be approximately 20 years old.
Height & Weight: 5'3" tall, 110 lbs.
Appearance: Small in stature and fragile-boned, Elysillien is hardly an intimidating sight. Most people avoid looking her way, though when notice is taken it is followed by surprise at her features. Pale skinned with eyes as icy blue as a glacier, she might at first be mistaken for an albino. Her hair is an unnaturally pallid silver-grey, though it shimmers in the sunlight with a healthier white sheen. Ely is quick-witted and at times sharp-tongued, yet she knows better than to push her limits with those who could easily put her in her place. Her sleight of hand and pickpocketing talents are what have kept her alive over the years, and more than once landed her in a heap of trouble. She is saucy, at times sarcastically so. Her skills at acting have convinced more than one of her "pristine" innocence, which has led her to be labeled as the Silver-Tongued Lady Thief. On top of these skills, she also possesses the knowledge of how to set and detect traps, climb walls and mountain sides with ease and to pick even the most staunch of locks. Her services never come for free, not unless there is something else in it for her.
History: Born to a poor peasant family in the lonely town of Mogrin, Elysillien was seen as a bad omen to the village's shaman. Her unnaturally blanched features made others uncomfortable, even her own parents were in near loathing over the child they had produced. After Ely's fourth birthday an outbreak of the pox spread throughout Mogrin, taking the lives of many and leaving several others disabled and unsightly. The odd child seemed immune to the effects of the disease, which made her even more disliked amongst those of the town. After that, many smaller issues came and went, all of them negative in nature. People avoided Ely as if she were a demon's child, and she grew quite used to others overlooking her.
She soon found out how easy it was to take trinkets and food...little things that always seemed to catch her eye. As she neared her thirteenth birthday the elders of Mogrin sent her away, claiming that disaster and ill luck embraced her as a lover might. The only one that had opposed her banishment was an old woman; Elysillien knew her only as Togra. She was a seer, some said, while others simply proclaimed her mad. "This child is a gift, not a curse," she muttered. Yet none else could be swayed. The woman cloaked her in a warm mantle, gave her a handful of small coins and filled a knapsack with some bread and cheese. Ely vowed that she would never forget the kindness shown to her on that evening as she set out for distant lands, where surely fame and fortune awaited.
It amazes her still how naive she had been.
Elysillien has been on her own ever since, returning to Mogrin only under the cloak of a moonless sky to visit Togra. And always she leaves behind what few coins or trinkets she can part with. Currently she has chosen to wander, and learn more about the lands that surround her birthplace.
