It was croweded that day in Tamasha Village. the perfect time to steal a few things here and there. Cadence was dressed in her usual atire. A blouse that fit her tightly and showed off her slim stomach, and pants low on her hips with a belt that held her knife should anyone mess with her, and she wore long thin black boots, that were light which made it easy for her to escape. she always added a little black bow in her hair, because she thought it gave her the i'm-not as-innocent-as-you-think touch. Today she also had a small bag with her. She planned on stealing some food and money, so she needed somewhere to put it.
Her first goal was to steal some bread. That had sounded so good to her. Nicely freash baked bread. She wandered around town towards the food market. Cadi's mouth watered as she smelled the food. she hadn't eaten since the day before at noon. It was about noon now and so she desparatly wanted food. she casual observerd all of the food avaiable and noticed that a friut cart was unattended. she grabbed an apple and continued her walk. No one noticed, she was a young pretty girl at 22, but everyone else was busy worrying about themselves.
Cadi found the bread stall she wanted, but waiting there were some city guards, and a few other big men buying bread. Cadi quickly walked away. If there was anyone she didn't want to have her attention it would be all of those men. Too many for her to take on. she finished her apple and tossed the core down to the dusty street. She would have to steal some coins first.
The bar would be the easiest place to go. Drunken men were easy to take money from. Cadi walked in confidently and winked at a few guys. Some offered to buy her drinks and she denied them, but in return offered a few kisses for a couple of coins. She got a about 10 gold coins worth and left.
"Men are so easy to take advantage of. really now, gold coins will get you futher then a few kisses." she laughed to herself. she tucked the coins away in her poket and headed back to the bread stall. She rounded a corner and ran right into a VERY handsome man in a kimono. Cadi couldn't take her eyes off him. she laughed to herself again,"Now i'd give him a gold coin if he kissed me. That must be how those low lifes in the bar felt."
"I'm sorry, excuse me sir." Cadi said. She smiled at him and winked, but slid right on by. She wanted food more then a little love at the moment.
When Cadi got back to the bread stall the guards were takeing more then their fair share of bread, maybe they were planning a big feast or something but at this rate they were going to leave only crumbs left. Cadi pushed forward to the vender could see her," Excuse my but could you spare me one loaf? I really need it, it's my sisters birthday and my mother thought it would be nice to have a big dinner tonight." Cadi lied, but convincingly sweet. The vender took a rather large loaf and handed it to Cadi, "2 silver coins."
Cadi paid for the bread and smiled sweetly and walked away rather quickly. she didn't want to be near the guards. Cadi did not liked to be seen. she like to blend in like Camaflauge, to not be seen, only to be herd of, like a legend.

Raven was nearly bowled over by a swift, albeit pretty, young girl. He staggered back a step, clutching the area of impact lightly. She smiled and winked attractively at him, then vanished into the market throng. Raven's curiosity piqued. What was this girl up to?
At that moment, a dark-skinned man in light blue robes approached Raven. "Francis," Raven spoke to the man, "Go about out business. Make sure those bureaucrats are hurried alone. I want that law enacted as quickly as possible."
"But why me, Lord Raven?" Francis asked, suddenly nervous, "You were the one gifted with a tongue of silver."
"Thank you for your compliments, Francis, but that girl...that girl interests me. Young, pretty, but something rough around her edges. I shall follow her."
"My lord, do you think it wise?" Francis tried to sway his master away from the girl.
"Perhaps not, but it is always important to have a variety of friends. She may come in handy. One never knows." With that, Raven stepped briefly into a dark alley and reemerged wearing simple peasant's clothing and he blended seamlessly into the market stream.
He kept his sharp eyes out for the redheaded girl, politely acknowledging or ignoring remarks about his appearance. He finally caught a tuft of red hair, and he swiftly followed it, watching as it slipped into a dark corner in a dead-end alley. Raven boldly entered the alleyway, putting his fists on his hips and regarding her with serious, dark blue eyes. "Hiding, are we?"

"Hiding are we?" It was the man she had run into earlier, except that he was wearing different clothes.
"No, not hiding," She lied. She couldn't really think about an excuse for being in a dead end alley way.
"Wern't you wearing something else when I just bumped into you?" She smiled curiously at him. He was handosme.
"Why did you follow me? Something interest you?" she said putting her hands on her hips. It was abvious he wasn't going to let her just walk out of the alley way. He definatly wanted something. Although Cadi couldn't quite tell what he wanted.

"I was wearing something else, was I not?" Raven mused, then laughed at the ridiculousness of the girl's accusation.
He approached her with slow, deliberate but soft steps. "I followed you because I was simply wondering why a pretty young thing like you would be stealing through the streets of this city. And where you were heading off to in such a hurry. I would also like to know why you winked at me in such a matter, if that is not too much to ask."
He stood before her, looking down at her slightly shorter frame, turning his head slightly to the side and letting his eyes shine with coy attraction. The entire alley reverberated and shook mildly with his voice, "Where we headed to in such a hurry?" he whispered seductively. Women outside the alley felt their knees tremble, their breath taken away, and their hearts yearning for the voice's owner.

Cadi didn't know what to say. She had never really been attracted to someone. For her every man was attracted to her and it was easy, but no. this one was different. It was in his eyes. She stepped closer to him,"I was in a hurry for my own reasosns," she smiled sudectively," and I winked at you because what girl wouldn't you a feast for everyones eyes." She smiled confidently. She debated kissing him and running away. He wouldn't be able to catch her twice. If Cadi didn't want to be found she would make sure she wasn't found. but she liked this man, she might want to be found by him again.
"Why were you so interested in me? There are plenty of pretty girls. I'm not any different." she said lookign up at him. She was in his personal bubble now. Inches away from him. She smiled her not so innocent smile at him and had to let out a little chuckle. he was going to be some fun, she could just tell.

Raven gave the pretty little redhead one last pleasing smile, then grabbed her by the shoulders and moved her back to arm's length. "We are going a bit too fast for my tastes." he scolded.
"Unfortunately, my dear, I am busy and I have important business to attend to. So, if you will excuse me," he turned on his heel and strode swiftly out of the alleyway, letting his peasant clothes melt back into their "natural" collage of blue.
He trusted Francis with his life, but would not trust him to hold his own in a debate. his friend would need support. And nothing showed nor spelled support like a dramatic entrance.

Raven grabbed a hold of Cadi's shoulders. It made her whole body tingle. He was different then most men. He soon left because he had busness to attend to. Cadi watched him go and started to follow. But she had a good feeling she would run into him again one day. He wasn't the type of person she usually missed in a crowed. Cadi let him go and decided to steal some more food and money and call it a night. sh eheaded out of the alley way and saw the handsome man round a corner back towards the main part of town, and he was once again in his blue kimono. "strange" Cadi thought to herself. She decided to head back towards the marke to see if she could steal some coins. she found a few on the ground here and there, but hardly any, if you were smart you kept your coins well hidden on your person in a market.
Cadi made in total about 15 gold coins that day, which would last her at least a week. She headed to the Inn at the center of town and bought a room for the night. She pulled out the bread she bought and ripped off a chunk at the end and stored the rest away. she laid back on her bed and slowly ate her bread. All she could think about was the unnamed handsome man she had met earlier that day. Strage, she was so distracted by his beauty she lost all of her common sense. She didn't ask for his name, how stupid could she be? really now?? she would track him down and find his name out one way or another, but now she was changeing her thoughts to her victories for the day. She had earned enough money to take care of her self for about a week. Life was currently good.

"You dare test our traditions, you young upstart?" the grizzly old man growled.
"False accusation. One point." Raven countered cheekily.
"I beg your pardon?" the old one stammered.
"Statement. One point." Raven remarked.
"Do you want to die?" the old man bared his teeth.
"Rhetoric. One point." Raven answered with a smile.
"Sir," one of the old one's fellow bureaucrats tugging on his sleeve, "I believe he is playing at questions."
"So, you want to play at questions?" the old one said with a fiery gleam in his eye.
"Are you ready?" Raven asked, spreading his arms in a deep bow.
"Why do you want to free the slaves?" the old one served.
"Would you want to be a slave?"
"Would you?"
"Repeating the question. One point." Raven held up a finger. "Why are you so adamant on keeping the slaves shackled?"
"Have you no respect for tradition?"
"Have you no respect for change?"
"Have you...ah..."
"Hesitation. One point."
"Damn!"
"Statement. One point."
"Get this lunatic out of my court!" the old one ordered.
"Command. One point. Game, set, match!"
"Did you not hear me?" the old one roared, "Remove him immediately!"
"I am sorry, sir, but it is you who shall be excused." Raven said with triumph.
"He is correct sir." the old one's colleague agreed, "The law clearly states that positions in the parliament can only be changed if someone dies or is outwitted in a game of questions."
The old one's face went livid. "What? How could this be? Who made that ridiculous law?"
"Your father, sir."
The old one shouted ferally, and Raven swiped his cap as the old one went out the door, placing it reverently on his fair head. "Now," he addressed the congregation, "it is time to shake things up."

Cadi had fallen asleep in her bread after she finished her chunk of bread. It was dark out when she awoke. she realised slowly what had happened. She simply driffeted to sleep after a long day. Now it was night and time for some fun. Cadi left her bag of food in the room she rented for the night but she kept her coins on her. She could always steal food, but money was a little harder to get ahold of and not something you ever wanted to lose.
Cadi walked out of her room and closed the door behind herself. She strolled outside of the inn and desided that the night was perfect for a little sneaking around. Her favorite place to sneak around was the roof tops. The veiw was always amazing from there. She headed into an ally way that she knew well. she ran to the wall on her right and kicked off it and slambed her body up against the edge of the low roof of the building next to it. She pulled herself up and quickly got away from the area. She smacked the wall pretty hard, if anyone was around she wouldn't want them on her trail. She stole her way across roof tops steathily. Lokking for one man, she doubted he would be out at this time of night though.

"Can you believe it, Francis? I won. This city is practically mine." Raven spoke with exuberance.
"Yes. All fine and fantastic, but we must not get ahead of ourselves. We still need to establish ourselves as trustworthy before we can make a move towards abolition." Francis tried to bring his master back down to earth.
"But we are one step closer to a slave-free Valear. I can hardly contain myself." Raven's smile outshone the glistening full moon he stared at.
"I can see that. Your bed is ready when you feel like sleeping, which I suggest you do soon. You need to be well-rested for tomorrow, your first day as a magistrate in this city."
"It is always the same old song and dance, Francis. Wine them, dine them, make them love me, change their laws, then move on. I have been through it at least a dozen times."
"But only successfully once, need I remind you? Now, Raven, get to bed."
"I just want to relax a few minutes more. I hardly get time to do this, what with worrying about a sudden dagger in the back."
"Very well, Raven. Good night, my lord."
"Good night, Francis. Sweet dreams, my friend."
Francis exited Raven's chamber with a sweeping bow, shutting the double doors softly. Raven sat somberly at his open window, considering himself and his inner feelings. He knew his task, of liberating the slaves of Valear, was of the utmost importance, but so was having some fun.
Like a hawk on silent, moonlit wings, Raven slipped out into the night, letting his kimono blend into the dark atmosphere. He almost giggled. He knew he was being a naughty boy, but that was what made it so much fun.

Cadi was glidding along the rooftops when she saw a shadowy figure climb out of a window. He was wearing a kimono, and it was blue, but changed to the shade of the shadows. It was her man, the one in the ally earlier. Cadi's heart beat fast, she was breathless just at the sight of him. what was wrong with her? She couldn't actually be falling for someone, especially someone she didn't know.
Cadi shook her head, she decided she could pay him a little visit. He was down in the streets now. Not Cadi's favorite place to be, out in the open. She jumped down off the roof and rolled to make her landing less hard. She quickly porceeded out of the ally way she landed in and headed over to the man. She crept up right behind him and tapped his shoulder," Your not the best at being sneaky." She laughed lightly. Night was not the time to be loud, it was the time for wispers and secrets.
She smiled at him, but it wasn't a sweet smile it was a playful smile.

Had Raven been born with a twitch reflex, her blood would be tarnishing his kimono's lavish shades. Luckily, he was born cool, calculating, and a bit cowardly. Instead of lashing out at the sudden antagonist, he froze, his mind and face went blank with fear. When he heard her voice, he managed to let out his breath, but relief would take a while to gain.
He turned to face her, his face radiating in the moonlight. His hair gleamed in a silver corona, his eyes sparkled with a lunatic's passion. He smiled to make the moon envious and whispered to seduce the wind, "Perhaps I was not trying to be sneaky. Perhaps, I wanted to be found."
In an instant, he let the sleeves of his kimono fly out, wrap around a beam sticking out from a roof, half-vaulted and half-hefted himself onto it, and vanished into the night. He recognized the girl's smile. She wanted to play.

He disapeared into the night. Cadi could play this game, it would be a little hard to follow him because of that beautiful kimono, it blened in with everything. She knew he was on the rooves now though. She headed into an alley way that could provide her with an easy way up. Once she was on the roof she stood tall and looked all around, but he handsome man was gone.
Was he a dream?
Cadi followed the rooves away, and searched in every street below, and in every crveice of the rooves. She saw him ahead of her. It was dark so she couldn't exactly tell if it was him because of that Kimono, he could be wearing something else by now.

Raven smiled as she approached stealthily. He put his sleeve-encompassed hands on his slim hips, letting the kimono become more visible in the darkness. "Nimble, are we?" he asked her.
He let her get close to him before he turned on the seduction. The very air pulsed with attraction. He let her breathe in his pleasurable scents. In a voice that would make women go mad with desire, he whispered, "I have heard numerous reports from the townsfolk of a robbery. They distinctly remember seeing a girl with rose-red hair. Quite the thief, are we not?"
He let his words sink in a little before he continued, "You need not worry. Your sins are safe with me. If you ever have need for money, food, clothing, shelter, or the like, let me know. I can easily provide such for you." His smile lit up the night, accentuated by the lunar corona around his head. "Pray tell, what do you call yourself?"

She stepped right up to him, his voice was madly seductive, "It may be easy for you to provide for me, but why would you want life to be easy? it gets boring and then you have nothing to live for, because everything is handed to you, and that's no way to live." they were so close there was almost no space between them now. Cadi looked up into his beautiful eyes," My parents would like to call me Cadence, but they are long gone in the past, so I would have others call me Cadi. Now it's your turn. I must know your name."
