As the orange glow of the evening sun crested the horizon, Orik settled his supplies to the ground and began to gather the fresh, cold water of Lonea Lake into an empty wineskin. The orange glow cast by the sun onto the water gave Orik a feeling of calm, a feeling that he had not felt for a long time in the past few months.
A few months of sheer terror and bloodshed.
Orik wiped the thought from his mind, willing to hold on to the relaxation of the evening. After filling his wineskin, Orik cupped his hands in the freezing water and drank deeply. Thankfully, the people living around the lake took great care that no pollutants entered the crystal clear water, as to ensure that any creature that drank from it would not suffer any ailments. The people of the lake took pride in its beauty, and its undeniable usefulness.
As the sun sank lower into the horizon, Orik decided it would be best to make camp. He unrolled his bedsheets and set them comfortably on the soft ground. Orik then surveyed the small wooded area ahead of him. Thinking a fire may prove to be a necessity in order for him to survive, Orik entered the woods and gathered plenty of firewood.
Orik returned with his kindling and set them in an already set up circle of stones, most likely from another wandering traveler. Not much later, Orik had a roaring fire underway as he lay comfortably next to it.
As Orik began to relax, he heard a faint rustle in the woods beyond him. Orik sat up, wondering what the noise could have been. Silently, Orik rose from his bed to go investigate, but not before picking up his ax. Orik tiptoed to the woods, just as a deer came bounding out. Laughing at himself for his stupidity, Orik returned to his bed, exhausted from the day's travels. This is my comeback post! -

Silima was tired of evading the orcs. They'd picked up on her trail recently as she made the stupid mistake of not putting out her campfire before falling asleep. Luckily Sojur had awaken her several hours after nightfall and warned her. She'd escaped but only just barely. Since when did orcs get so smart anyway? she wondered to herself. It seemed almost as though some force had lent them it's intelligence. Silima shook her head. How silly she was to be thinking such things. Earlier in the day she'd managed to lose them again but had decided to continue on to make sure. She decided to make camp just near the lake and had thrown herself in to cool off after the heat of the day.
Sojur sneered at her as Silima came drudging back up the bank dripping with lake water. You look like a drowned duckling Sojur gave her wolfish laugh.
I'll bet you wished you could do the same, you having a thick coat of fur and all Silima shot back laughing at the imagery her friend had thrown into her mind of a drowned duckling. She wrung out her hair and stepped onto dry ground. That was when she saw him. A man a little less than a mile down the bank of the lake. Silima froze wondering if the man had seen or heard her yet. She crept down on all fours and watched him. He didn't seem to have noticed her or Sojur.
She picked up her sword and dashed into the woods a little clumsier that she'd have liked and climbed a tree hastily. She perched there and noticed he'd heard her. She swore to herself softly and perched inthe branches tensed hoping for him to go away. Just then a deer dashed out from the underbrush and deep into the forest. She released a sigh and hunkered down on the branch as the man walked back to his things and sat down.
Two minutes later a large squirrel jumped down to her branch and started chittering at her. She shooshed it with her mind but it continued incessantly. She cringed. The man would surely think something was odd now.

As soon as Orik lay back down in his blankets, he heard the loud chattering of a squirrel. Orik tried to flush out the noise, but the night was too quiet and the squirrel was too loud.
Orik stood up and picked up a nearby rock and threw it in the direction of the noise. "How do ye like that, ye chatterin' bastard?" he yelled across. Orik calmed down and fell back down to the ground atop his blankets. Sure that no one would disturb him again this night, the dwarf resumed his well-deserved sleep.Sorry that was a bit short. -

Silima was busy trying to calm the squirrel down when suddenly a rock came flying from the direction of the dwarf-man. The squirrel skittered away at the sound of the man shouting. Silima, however, was not as fast as the squirrel. She cried out as it made contact with the side of her head and the next thing she knew was total blackness as she fell to the forest floor, crashing through branches as she fell. Luckily she landed hard in a bush and she was also lucky she hadn't climbed too far up the tree. {OOC: that's quite alright and it made me laugh for a solid minute ^.^ and i TOTALLY forgot he was a dwarf till now... i'm such a dunce >.< And sorry this is short as well ;.; She'll seriously have more when she's not being knocked unconcious }

The next morning, Orik awoke to the sounds of people mumbling rather loudly nearby the copse where he had slept. He sat up to get a better look at them. Orik wasn't a person for exact figures, but he guessed there must be about seven or eight people gathered around in a circle, looking down at something. Sensing trouble, Orik shouldered his battle-ax and made his way toward the crowd.
"Is there summat wrong here, folks?" he asked.
The group parted to reveal an elven woman, who looked like she was sleeping, collapsed on the ground.
"We found her lying in the woods, unconscious," a woman stated.
A man broke in, "we're a traveling party, you see, and we often pass through small towns, open fields, and forests. Today was a day like no other when we found this unfortunate elf collapsed upon the ground. A shame, really...she is quite beautiful."
"Wha' seems to've happened?" Orik asked.
"Well," another woman answered, "is appears she was knocked out cold, probably by something that was thrown."
"An' from the bruise on her head, musta' been a rock or somethin'," a man interjected.
Orik was taken aback. Rock!? Orik felt terrible. Well, if it wasn't for that damn squirrel...
"Is she gonna be all right?" Orik asked.
"I think she'll make a full recovery, given time," the first woman said. "She just needs rest."

K i l i k How cute The demon of a drake stood in the shadows as his hazel liquids gazed 'pon the small crowd. Keen auds listened intently to the small almost worthless conversation. Aww, how cute, he acutally care Lryics were dripping with sarcasm in his own thinkbox. A harsh chuckle could be heard in the distance, but would they hear it?
Slowly the elven drake made his way to the pathetic little scene. Another chuckle was released from his oral cavity. I can't believe you people actually care Lryics mocked them so easily. His black cloak flowed behind him and covered his sword beneath it. Then again Kilik really didn't need it seeing as he was a mage. Gaze darted from one face to the other, but no one could see that. His massive hood was covering the drake's entire face, as it should. Digits were locked behind his back as to tell them that he wasn't threatening to them, when he really was.
Auds listened to every breath that went in and out of these people. No one had spoken yet, and silence began to engulf their carcass's. Did they really fear something they didn't know? Of course they did. Many always had. In his own lands he is still feared to this very day. Finally his lyrics spoke out again. You people do relize that she will come back to life, soon His tones were mocking yet again and a silent chuckle was emitted into the atoms.
