Cadence, of Cadi for short, was walking confidently through the small city located on the edge of Ularian Ridge. She really had nothing in mind she just felt like being out in the sun today. She was a beautiful girl, her red hair was in curls around her shoulder, and her clothes fit snugly around her. She winked at a few attractive men and kept walking along.
She rounded the corner to the main square of the town. Here she could smell the food. She saw an unattended fruit cart and gracefully swipped an apple. She continued walking now away from the main Square. She didn't like to be out in the open. Being the center of attention wasn't her thing. Being unseen was.
Speaking of unseen, she almost missed a boy. He was strange in a way. He looked almost lonely, but even stranger, he too had red hair. Cadi hadn't seen many people with red hair, especially someone so close to her own age.

"Damn it all!" Jadoc mumbled to himself, searching franticly through his backpack and pockets for his small supply of money. He could have sworn to have it a moment ago, and he wasn't near anyone for a while, he was sure no one had pick pocketed him.. but one cannot be too sure. Half the people he stole from hadn't ever noticed their possessions missing until after he was gone. Well.. he was certain of one thing; it was not funny when someone stole from you. Not funny at all, it was actually very frustrating. That wouldn't stop him from stealing from others, though. He gave up looking for his money, it was probably long gone by now. Oh well.. he'd get some more eventually. Jadoc, under the assumption that his money was stolen (it was, he kept his money in his bag, easy place for it to be taken), grew more aware of his surroundings. He was a bit more alert, constantly looking around to see if anyone was near. He was not wearing his familiar mischievous smirk, he looked more serious at the moment, he looked slightly perturbed, actually. He felt no need to look like he was plotting something. He didn't have to put on an act when he was alone, and he was almost sure no one was watching him, even if someone was, he didn't really care at the moment. Jadoc still felt a bit angry, he didn't really know why, he had already made peace with the fact that he had probably had his money stolen. He could always get it back, it was easy. I guess he felt a bit stupid, actually, not being able to know when he had something or not. Whatever. He'll get over it eventually. Jadoc looked around, still feeling paranoid. He saw some people, they weren't aware that he was there, just walking slowly in some random direction. That was good. The more people who didn't see him the better. Someone in particular caught the boy's eye, a red-haired woman, probably in her early twenties, human, if he was not mistaken. It was somewhat strange to see another person with red hair. He tried looking in her direction as subtly as possible, although it was a bit difficult. Jadoc was almost sure the other red-head had spotted him, but then again it was just a guess. An almost certain guess. The half elf had considered going over to and talking to her, but he hadn't been sure if he was or not. He just decided to keep walking, maybe he'd decide later. (eh.. I'll try to make future posts better, I promise. .)

((OOC: That one was really good though =] ))
Cadi was debating approaching the Half elf looking boy or not. He seemed interesting enough. Alone in an alleyway hidden from everyone else. Somehow Cadi had a nack for pinpointing thieves. They were the ones that hated public life. She was one of them, yet when in the public you become a non-suspect a majority of the time, For theives are always hiding. Why not hide among other people?
Cadi looked carefully at the boy now. She knew he had seen her, maybe just a glimpse, but her presence was known to him. He looked a little angry. She decided to use this as a tool for speach.
"Is something bothering you?" she said approaching him," Looks like your having a bad day or something."
Cadi decided to almost disguise her true bad girl image. She was acting like a sweet caring girl. In reality she did care, only because she was curious. Other then that she was a common theif. Her best traits being Lieing, stealing, and cheating. If she wanted something she would have it, weather it be and iteam or knowlegde she would obtain it by any means nessisary. Right now all she wanted was to know more about this red headed boy.

(I can do better, but thanks.)
Out of the corner of his eye Jadoc saw the red haired woman approach him. Looks like he didn't have to make some sort of decision after all. Oh well. The less mental debating the better.
"Is something bothering you? Looks like your having a bad day or something."
Nice. He didn't have to start a conversation either. He was moderately social, yes, that is true, but he didn't like having to start conversations. Odd, but true. He turned his head so that he was facing the other. He put on a pretty believable faux smile, it was not his best, mind you, this fellow can do much better, but it'd do for the time being.
"Hmm? Yes something is bothering me.. I've lost something, can't seem to find it.. but it's no big deal, ma'am. Nothing you need to concern yourself with.. very easy to replace, what I lost is." Jadoc said, still faking his grin, trying to make his tone more sincere than his smile. It worked, he sounded, for lack of a better word, real. The half elf was a wonderful actor.. liar.. whatever you wish to call him.
"What's your name? I'm Jadoc." Jadoc said, keeping a cheerful tone. He almost had lied about his name, but decided against it, what difference would it make, he had thought.
(short. whee.)

Cadi had to let out a laugh now. She quickly grabbed Jadoc's arm and pulled him down into an alley way.
"My name is Candence. But I prefer to be called Cadi, but if we ever meet out in public with other people, you had better create another name to call me. I won't awnser to Cadi unless I am alone, and just a hint, you will never catch me alone." She smiled at him.
She could tell that he had not lied about his name, and she could also tell that he had told the truth when he stated "...Very easy to replace..." He was definatly a theif. It was a common thing to give away who they really were insome sort of a way. For Cadi it was the way she snuck around when no one was watching, and the way she was always confident in public.
"So far you haven't lied to me. That's nice, most people like ourselves never give things away. If you lie to me I'll know. I can read people like open books, even the people with looks of stone. they are always hiding things." Cadi smiled misheviously.
"What's missing that can so easily be replaced? Money perhaps?" Cadi laughed.

"Pleasure to meet you, Cadi." Jadoc replied after being drug into the alleyway "No worries, If I ever encounter you in public I'll be sure to call you by a name other than your own, granted you do the same for me."
He had a feeling that Cadence was like him, maybe not exactly personality wise, (but who knows, maybe they are), but he had a strong sense that they both shared the same habit(s). It was most likely the reason he had been a bit careless with giving out information about himself. Sure, it was subtle, but he had hinted that he was a thief. Normally, he'd be a lot more cautious, he felt very good about his instinct so he was a bit careless while talking to Cadi.
"Why sure, I haven't really needed to lie about anything so far." Jadoc smirked, it wasn't too fake this time, either. "I'll be sure not to lie around you then, with your ultra ninja lie detector skills it would be ineffective to even try."
He almost made himself laugh with that last comment. He liked being funny, yes he did. He wasn't very funny at the moment, though. He just thought he was. Now that's funny. (ha ha)
"Yeah.. how'd you guess?"

"Of course. I would never give away another theifs identity." She grinned.
She could tell he was thinking about something, but she couldn't read minds, only faces, so she didn't know what exactly he was thinking about. She laughed when he mentioned her llie detector skills," Well it's not really a lie detector, I can just read faces, so I know when people contradict themselves. For instance if you would have lieed to me about your name you probably would have had to debate over a name to choose, or you would have responded right after I asked the question. Instead you sort of looked at me and it played right across your face thet you were thinking about telling a lie, but you don't really feel threatend by me so you said your name was Jadoc. Am i correct?" she asked.
She smiled because she was almost positive that's what he had been debating when they first met. Weather or not to tell her the truth. Only one thing really bothered her though. Was Jadoc threatend by her or not? She wasn't somebody to not be threatend by, she was a powerful, and seducing woman. She shouldn't be non- threatening. But she kept heer face smiling at him. She wouldn't let him learn to read her like an open book.

"That's a good thing to know." He said, slightly doubting Cadi's word. Jadoc didn't let his doubfulness show through on his face or through his words, though. You don't trust a theif, or any criminal for that matter, or, you shouldn't anyway. It's not the smartest thing in the world to do, he should know, he's one himself.
"Oh I know.. it's more fun to say it that way though, y'know? Ultra ninja lie detector skills, heh, has a nice ring to it, no? You are correct, Cadi. Spot on." He replied, "But no.. I wouldn't say that I'm not threatened by you.. well, not exactly "threatened by".. more like "skeptical of", again, I only didn't lie because my name isn't that important of information."
A new thought came to him, it was random, and didn't really matter, but his mind lingered on the question-thought for a few seconds. Why exactly did Cadi come over here and talk to him? He was just kind of standing there, slightly angry looking. Honestly, he had no idea, maybe she was just a social person.. or some other theory less stupid than that. He'd have to ask, just to get it out of his system.
"Hey... I have a question.. What made you come over here in the first place? It's a recent thought I can't seem to provide a sufficient answer for with my own theories. It's kind of annoying; having something repeat itself over and over again in your head." He said, somewhat forcing a short laugh or two.

"Well, you just sort of sparked my interest. The red hair caught my attention, then the more I looked at you, the more I was curious. I could tell you were a theif, and it looks like someone stole from you. A word of advice? Have a hiding place for most of your stuff, and carry only the essentials on your person." Cadi said taking a step back and turning in a circle to show Jadoc that she had nothing on her person other then a knife on her belt. She had no money on her and no bag for anything. She didn't have posetions anyway, they were a waste to her. Plus it was easier to get around without extra baggage.
"What's in that backpack anyway? Your a theif, it's not too smart to carry around a packpack. If you get caught that," cadi said motioning to his backpack," is the first thing they will check."
"By the way...don't be skeptical of me. Sure theives lie, steal cheat. But fellow theives are my siblings, I won't cheat you. If you need a friend, or help, just ask, I'm not hard to find." She smiled.
