"He's come to make you snap out
Of the state that you are in,
Look around and make you
See the light again." ~ Judas Priest

Name: Helion Sunseeker (Has also been given the "Sun-Name" The Eternal Compass Who Seeks the Sun by his patron deity, but he never mentions it to anyone)
Age: 17
Race/Class: Human / Cleric
Physical Description: Male. Electric blue hair and piercing blue eyes. Average height, but no muscle mass whatsoever. Fair of skin and of face.
Personality: Very, almost painfully, naive. Absolutely trusting until betrayed. Usually grudges do not last long, as he is also very forgiving. Very passionate, compassionate, and caring. Could be summed up as a "bright ray of sunshine."
Background: Helion was conceived in a moment of lustful and violent rape. That terrible night left his mother shattered for seven-and-a-half months. The day after Helion was born, his mother entrusted him to the care of a reclusive druid and his covenant. The poor woman died shortly thereafter, leaving Helion orphaned. When the druid first beheld the frail child's features, the noonday sun burst from behind a cloud, showering the boy's face with bright sunshine. The druid took him in as his own.
The offspring of sinning parents often were marked physically by their parents' sinning ways, and Helion did not escape this. He grew up as a very weak creature, both of muscle and health. He was often bedridden with sickness and could not help with most manual labor, no matter how much of a help he wanted to be. For seventeen years, Helion was raised with no knowledge of the outside world. None of the covenant gave him any reason to doubt their credibility, so he did not develop the skills necessary to think negatively of people. From the moment he could speak, Helion was blessed with divine oration, giving sermons on the beauty of nature that always drove the congregation to quiet tears. To augment the beauty of his sermons, he would play sweet melodies on a lyre.
He left the covenant when he received a revelation of a god greater than even nature from the god himself. His faith in the Giving Goddess and her offspring faltered bit by bit, until he accepted the Sun-God as his only deity and converted the covenant to worship the great god.
Helion knew he could not contain the glorious knowledge of the Sun-God to only the monastery walls and left soon after converting the covenant. Before he left, the old druid, his adoptive father, gave him a golden locket containing a clump of moss from the holy trees of the monastery's inner sanctum and a lock of Helion's mother's vibrant blue hair. Helion left with the dawn, taking with him only a backpack full of food, philosophical texts, and his lyre.
Abilities: Helion possesses irresistible charisma. None who hear his warm, friendly voice can force themselves to break away except through great force of will. This applies both to his orations and to his exceptional lyre playing.
He does possess knowledge of a few incantations and rituals from his time as a druid, most of which induce healing magic. Helion would rather avoid the use of these spells, as the Sun-God frowns upon the pagan druidic ways.
As Helion's faith in the Sun-God grows, so do the powers given to Helion by his patron deity. So far, Helion has gained the ability to quell negative emotions in someone by touching them and the power to summon warm sunshine in the form of an ethereal compass to illuminate the area around him.
His motives? Helion's ultimate dream would be to convert the entirety of Valear to worship his Sun-God. He has already converted a small band of devoted followers, numbering no more than ten, who accompany him wherever he goes.
Retirement: After Tristan was slain by a man calling himself Den, Helion went into seclusion. He still preaches the divine word of Sol Invictus, but is too afraid to leave his cloister without his stalwart guardian beside him.
