Riki trudged her way up the side of Blaze Mountain, following a very small path that had been carved away many years ago by the lava flow. It was winding and steep, but Riki seemed able to manage it with only some effort. She needed a place to go to get away...
"Wait! I'm sorry! Again! I didn't mean to insult you! And I'm still sorry about getting you in trouble back at the village!" Brant huffed after her, stumbling over his feet and robe as he tried to follow the were-cat. He was always excited about meeting the creatures he had only read about and often forgot to mind his manners around them. After all, Riki was a person, too. He knew that. But he was also very curious.
"You know," she shouted back down to him. He was a good distance behind her, but still too close. "It is often said that curiosity killed the cat, Brant," she finished, still feeling insulted from a number of his questions. She couldn't believe the boy had the patience to follow her, even here to a place many feared.
"Which is funny!" Brant replied with a childish giggle. "Considering..." he continued, fading away as he caught a glare from the woman.
Riki just kept walking until she found a small plateau in the mountainside that was wide enough for a small camping party. She wondered if it hadn't been carved away for that exact purpose as she sat down and leaned against the large mountain. It was only a few more minutes until Brant came running and huffing up after her. "Wow!" he gasped, catching his breath. "What a hike! I haven't done anything like that...well...I've never done anything like that," he murmured as he sat down with a more collapsing movement.

Keith had always felt that her tiny home nestled deep in the mountains was remote enough. The idea of hiking the mountains terrified most and seemingly repeled visitors. This resulted in a very lonely, but happy Keith.
She had exitted her home early that morning, spending most of the time away at a small hot spring on the far side if the mountain. She was returned back to her home now, using her usual, empty path and was shocked to find a pair sitting in the more open area in 'her' mountain.
Tempted to call out to them but terrified of what would happen, Keith snuck her way around the edge of the opening, trying to keep as quiet as possible. She places the palm of her hand over the hilt of her daggar as she nearly made it to the end of her stealthy journey around the large 'plain'.
((Will you help me get some RP experience on this site? I am not sure how exactly you guys do things...xD This post is me guessing!!))

((haha..I'll do what I can. I'm still fairly new here, too, so I guess we'll learn together. XD ))
Riki's ear twitched at a sound and she turned her gaze back toward the path. It had sounded like footsteps, but the sound had grown softer. Still faintly there, but much softer. She knew Brant hadn't up and left, though that might currently please her, because 1: he was still sitting close by, still breathing heavily from the long hike and 2: she definitely would have heard him leave, even if he weren't making so much noise just by breathing. No, there was a third person here. It didn't bother her too much, though. As long as whoever it was wasn't as...as...whatever it was Brant was. Bumbling, perhaps.
However, there was something in the back of her head that said she should be cautious. Her fingers started tingling, tempting her to pull out her bostaff, or...something. She kept a steady gaze toward the path and listened for any telltale sound.
Brant noticed Riki's change in expression, though, and fell silent, despite how badly he wanted to gasp for breath. He watched her curiously, trying to hear whatever it was she seemed to be listening to. "Wh...what's going on?" he asked, his voice above a whisper.
Riki flinched and scowled at him with a quick and silent, "shh!" before returning to listening. And then she saw the person, inching forward as silently as she could around the edge of the opening. She smiled and leaned back, making a face toward Brant to keep silent. She waited until the girl was mostly across and had her hand on her dagger before she spoke. "If you think that moving slowly is the key to remaining unseen, you might want to rethink your strategy," she called to her with a humored grin.
((gah..I think I messed it up, but hopefully the last paragraph makes it better? XD oh well... ))

Keith had nearly made it. Her heart was pounding in her ears, so loudly that the sound of the female voice echoing across the distance behind her made her flinch, "Who says I was trying to remain unseen?" She asked boldly. This was the boldest thing she would be saying for the rest of this most unanticipated evening.
Her face flushed and she backed up against a tree, trying to keep her distance as best she could given the circumstances. She watched the man with careful eyes before turning her attention to the obviously more worrisome female something.
Having spent the entirity of her exsistance on this mountain she didn't know about anything other than the direct knowledge. She studied the woman's features. She had become very good at reading a person's face because of her past experiences so she saw easily that she found her male companion kind of annoying. She stood up straight, lessening her guard, "Do you mean me harm?" She asked straight out, not having manner due to lack of social experience.

Riki raised her eyebrow at the question, letting her eyes linger on the girl's hand, still ready to draw the weapon that was still sheathed. "Only if you mean harm," she replied, making it clear that she had no intention of hurting anyone unless they attacked her. Well, and Brant she guessed. As much as he was getting on her nerves, she wouldn't be able to stand idly by and watch him get beat up. The poor kid would never be able to fend for himself.
Brant, however, remained tense throughout this exchange. He was unsure whether either girl was going to attack the other, and most certainly didn't want either of them to turn on him. He didn't know much about this person Riki was talking to, but he realized that he should definitely be more mindful around Riki. If he got too out of line, he felt she might just push off the mountain or something. "W-well, I most certainly don't mean any harm," he stuttered, trying to make sure his name was cleared from any misconceptions.
Coward... Riki thought absently, knowing Brant couldn't help but to be afraid. He had never left his village before and had little to no combat training. He carried around a sword but hardly knew how to use it. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her irritation with Brant.

Keith, as unsure as ever, released her weapon and began a slow, shaky trek toward the pair. She was about two feet away before she stopped, "H-hello." She said quietly, "I am Alakeithia Titus, call me Keith." She reached out one hand.
You could tell by looking at it that she was terrified of what she was doing but her mind was convincing her to stay brave and that's what she did. With a strong gust of wind Keith's hair blew out of her face revealing, for the first time, her deep purple orbs. She had recenlt been styling her hair to hide them and was slightly unhappy with their sudden appearance.

Riki took Keith's hand, giving her a friendly smile. "I'm Riki, and this here," she said, jutting her thumb at her 'companion', "is Brant." She made a slight motion with her hand, warning Brant not to say anything. She was pretty sure that if he said any more, he would sound rude and stupid. Not that he didn't any time he talked, but she wasn't sure how this girl would take it. Clearly, she was afraid of them, or at least Riki. She couldn't figure out how anyone would be afraid of Brant.
The breeze blew, ruffling Riki's short blond hair and blowing past her to move Keith's, revealing a pair of purple colored eyes. Riki just nodded shortly, not really caring all that much. Besides, who was she to judge? Her eyes turned into cat's eyes when it was dark or she grew too angry. And she doubted this girl turned into a large black panther, too. So, as far as she was concerned, they were even.
"I didn't expect to meet anyone up here," Riki mused with a light voice. "What brings you here?"

Keith nodded, "I live up here." She said, wondering if it was a bad thing to say. She used her hand to hold down her hair as the wind continued to beat against the trio. A dark cloud threaned to unleash it's contents upon them as the gust pushed it nearer. The beginning drop splatter against Keith's face before she finally let out a breathe and turned away, "You can stay at my place until the rain let's up."
She waved her hand over her shoulder beckoning the to follow as she approached the tree line she had previously been caught sneaking in, "It's not far and it will keep you dry."

"Thank you," Riki said as she followed her, knowing Brant would be stumbling after them shortly. Keith struck her as a peculiar sort of girl, living up here on the mountain that many still feared might one day blow a volcanic explosion into the sky. Then again, maybe she was just trying to avoid people? She remembered the girl's fear and figured maybe she just wasn't accustomed to being approached in a friendly manner? Maybe...
The clouds looming overhead were quick to block out the sun as water rained down from them, making small pools of water in the crevices of the rock. Riki blinked a couple times, letting her eyes readjust and wondered with a touch of humor how Keith would react when she turned around and saw that her pale blue eyes had turned into a more yellow gold color, with slitted pupils. She imagined it might shock the girl, but not much more. If Riki had meant this girl harm, she would've done so while she was trying to sneak past them.

About ten minutes after their departure, Keith smiled sadly as she came upon the home she used to share with her family. It was in a more protected spot then many would assume when she said she lived on the mountain. There was a great cliff that judded out from the top of the mountain over her hose keeping it relatively safe and hard to find.
"Here we are." She said quietly pulling open the door and motioning for them to enter before her. The room you'd first enter would bemore of a hallway then a foyer but it gaveoff a very homey feel with its dark oak walls and wooden floors. It was a nice house but you couldn't tell that by looking at the outside. To the right of this hallway, there was an open wall that led to the kitchen, a wood-burning stove placed in oner corner and a nice mahogany table in the center.

They came to a home hidden within the side of the mountain and Keith pulled open the door, showing them in. They found themselves in a sort of hallway, but it had maintained a particular feel to it. It was definitely a lived in place, nice and comfortable. The walls were dark oak with wooden floors. Looking around, Riki noted the hallway that led to the kitchen. The stove was placed neatly in the corner and a mahogany table stood in the center of the room.
"It's...lovely," Riki said, astonished by the home. She couldn't help it, really. Sure, she had been in people's homes before, but they never had the same feel. They were just houses that people happened to live in. This was a safely kept home, and Keith had allowed them in. "Thank you," she said again with a smile, facing Keith.
