Name: Nammip Boddyjon Tuo Birrirel
Gender Male
Age: 70 (Equivalent to about 25 in human years).
Race: Gnome
Physical Description: This little man has brown hair and light green eyes. He stands about four and a half feet or so, but his bizarre clothing and expression betray him as a bit of a strange fellow. He wears a bizarre, broken-toothed smile with thin lips and crazed eyes. His hair is dirty and scruffy and brown, and small beads of bone hang from it unevenly. His robe is made from patchwork pieces of blue, green and violet patches with a striking black hood. He carries a gnarled black staff with a bone hanging from one end, and a simple crossbow with a quiver of about 40 bolts.
History: Born at the estate of the Birriel mage-gnomes, Nammip soon found his calling in the hidden (and very, very dangerous) arts of necromancy, rather than as an illusionist or enchanter like other Birriel mages. The pursuit of this knowledge slowly drove him mad, much to the fascination of the other mages, who believed him studying to be an evoker. The truth was revealed when Nammip created a skeletal, shrieking raven as him familiar, forcing the other mages to kick him out. Packing his books and spell components, he wandered across the lands, seeking to increase his knowledge and power.
Personality: Despite the rather dark rituals and spells he casts, Nammip is, overall, neutral. While he won't stick his neck out too far for innocent lives, he won't randomly kill or conquer either. While he does seek power, it is not over others, but over death. His biggest motivation is knowledge-if there is the possibility of learning some new piece of necromantic lore, or seeing some strange new undead creature, Nammip is ready for anything. He cares little for law or chaos. He regularly breaks rules, but not because he feels the laws are unjust, simply because it suits his needs.
Luckily for the people he travels with, Nammip's madness does not manifest in homicidal urges or wanton acts of destruction. He suffers from severe mood swings and is absolutely obsessed with necromancy. He is normally gleeful, to the point of annoyance, but can switch to deep depressions of fits of anger quite quickly. He is also very careless, with little regard for his own life or those of his companions. He speaks disjointedly to his undead creations, particularly his skeletal raven Raven, an will protect them fiercely.
Skills: Nammip’s skills as a necromancer are not very developed, but he still has the knowledge to raise simple skeletons and control negative energies. He is proficient with his crossbow and staff at a basic level, and knows some battle magic as well as defensive spells.
Possessions: Bone beads and necklace, basic adventuring gear (Sleeping bag, dried food, rope, torches, etc.), crossbow, 40 bolts. . Small onyx stones used for awakening the dead. Wooden gravedigging shovel. Pouch full of spell components. Old black staff/walking stick. Spellbook, as well as numerous forbidden tomes and books on necromancy. Skeletal raven familiar named Raven, and a single skeletal servant who he christened Kernock, who wields a simple longsword and heavy wood shield.
