Hotaru is a chosen protector of The Light and thus despises anything born from The Darkness. She is very protective of the innocent and pure and has a short temper. However, she does enjoy a good time. Especially drinking, smoking, and gambling. She hates fighting and will absolutely refuse to engage in combat with anyone who isn't evil.
History
Hotaru Kikuchi is the daughter of Akane Kikuchi and an unknown demon. The unknown demon had pillaged the village where her young mother lived. The demon raped Akane and left her for dead. A short while later Hotaru was born. A prophecy told of a female born on the of that exact date. That child was destined to become the Kami no Yaiba for centuries before her birth. Akane, the young mother of Hotaru died while giving birth to the destined child. Hotaru was taken by monks and raised in a monastary as a warrior. They decided that she should never know of her lineage and her mother. She took to it all naturally. When Hotaru came of age she was declared the Kami no Yaiba and given her only personal possession, Musashi. She soon ventured out on her life's mission. To destroy The Darkness and discover the mystery of her origin.
