Raine smiled and put a hand on Samuel's letting him know she was all right. Then, she turned back to Silvarn and met his eyes with her own, she gave him her fearless gaze she could muster.
"So be it. I am sorry if this has in any way inconvenienced you. But I do appreciate the help." she smiled at him. But, she still wondered why he was so annoyed with her crying. True, human emotions were annoying sometimes, but this made her feel like he had none of those emotions at all, especially kindness and joy, or love. She did wonder why that was, but shrugged those thoughts away. "Oh, and tell that demon you have if he tries anything again I will be tempted to pay him back in full." She grinned mischievously, before turning back to the bar keeper who had by now curled under the table whimpering. She quickly handed him some money.
"Sorry about the mess."
"Just leave, all of you. " As Raine turned away she thought she could hear him say one word she hated most. "Halfbreed." She hated that name, it was the name everyone taunted her with as a child. But, she ignored the comment and walked towards the doors. "I'm done here, how about you boys?"

Why do they always find out about me? Scorcahr whined, Either they put the pieces together and figure it out, possess intuitive knowledge of my existence, or you tell them outright. Just once, could I stay a secret?
"What ails you, Scorcahr? Are you bashful?" Silvarn chided.
Toward the half-breed? You must be joking. She does not have enough parts.
"I am rather intrigued by her spirit. A rare few are nonplussed by my demeanor."
Such as it is. Scorcahr sneered. And, what is the other fellow's problem? He was rather distressed when you Banished that other demon.
"Few are not when they witness is for the first time. I must admit, it still sends shivers of fright down my spine very time I witness it."
Silvarn stared intently at the other man, as if his fervent gaze would unravel the riddle. But, Laraine's voice cut through his concentration.
"I am set to go if the both of you are as well."

As Raine placed her hand on his, he gave out a sigh and gazed around the room. Most of the tables were smashed or at least on its on the other side of the room.
He finally released his sword from his tight grip and studied the mage again, this time more closely. He scared him. To a point where he could not trust a word the man said.
Mentally shaking his head, he followed Raine still keeping a good distance from Silvern. "I'm done. Let's go."

Raine walked out into the dry, hot day. She put her cloak over her head and walked down the dirt road, the two boys close behind. "We shouldn't stay in this town. Knowing my family they have qualms burning this place to the ground to find me. The next town is quite a far distance but we should be able to make it in three days time."She glanced at them both and sighed.

"Well you know how I feel about that. So we should probably get going." He added, glancing around the street, his blue eyes burning the back of Silvern's neck in glare.
He walked along the road, turning towards where they'd tied up their horses. "You have a horse?" He asked the mage, purposly not addressing him.

"I know of no beast, no creature, no being from another plane that would bear me. I was once attempted to ride a horse. The result were rather...unfortunate."
I was rather surprised by the amount of internal fluids those creatures possess.
"Yes, it was a rather disturbing amount." Silvarn agreed with a passing merchant. "But then, you may ask, how do I travel from place to place with any semblance of speed? The answer is rather simple: I do not. I much prefer to take my time. But, if speed is the order the day, I have my methods."
He rounded on the man tailing him, boring into him with his cold grey eyes, "So, you need not worry about me, my good sir. I am quite capable."
Silvarn's mask of apathy cracked a little, showing an expression of distate. He stared down the length of his nose at the other man, his ancient grey eyes cold and calculating, "And, I do not believe you striking the proper tone, here. If you have a problem with my presence, then have out with it, lest it fester."

Raine could see both of them willing to pick fights with each other and it was beginning to annoy her. She sighed at the two as she mounted her horse and looked down into his eyes. "Why do men have to be so troublesome?" The horse neighed its response and Raine smiled gently, patting the horse on the neck before turning to the other two who were at odds with each other. "Please don't fight, especially with my family around, they tend to take advantage of things like this. Apparently it makes me easier to kill. Though I still dont understand their logic since I am still alive. But at least try to behave." Otherwise it would feel like babysitting two year olds, she thought.

Samuel sighed, tensing his muscles. "This is my homeland and I can speak however I please, your not welcome in these parts.." He replied, his tone aragant and angry. "But you still come anyway..." He added under his breath.
He turned his attention to Raine, giving her a look that meant he would try not to fight. He glanced back to the mage and sneered, soon mounting his own horse. "If your still wishing to join us, much to my distaste, then you'll need to make haste."

Silvarn found himself in a state of shock. The fact he found himself in a state of shock almost induced a second state of shock, which would lead to a rapidly-downward-spiralling series of shock, eventually ending in a coma. But, the grey mage was able to stop the spiral at the first shock, but it still left him unable to function.
"Homeland...?" he muttered, his frown deepening. He blinked quizzically, trying to remember the connotation of that word. What was his homeland. Perhaps, more importantly, what was a homeland, that could inspire an insolent whelp such as this man to stand up against a feared mage such as himself? What power did this "homeland" possess? And why could he not remember his?
"Valear is my homeland..." he began, hoping it would lead him down a path of inner peace. But, he found none, no argument which could stave the man's accusation. He, Silvarn, may be of Valear in body, but not in spirit. That had been consumed by the power he wielded from beyond the stars.
The grey mage regarded the man with glacier-cold eyes, gave a final snort, turned on his heel, and began walking awaya. "Do not fear, Miss Laraine. I will find you before the night is through."

Raine watched as he walked away and sighed. She rode towards the edge of town into the woods. She waited for Samuel to catch up. She wondered what Silvarn was trying to say before but realized right now the only thing that was important was to get as far away from her family as possible.

((Sorry I haven't been on in a few days.))
Samuel sighed and hurried after Raine. He didn't want much more to do with the man but if he would help protect Raine from her family, he wouldn't object..often. He nugded the horse forwards, finally catching up with her.
"Looks like they've cheered up since we left." He smiled, trying to laugh, though his mood didn't really allow him.

"It is a good thing you found me," Silvarn snarled as he slammed the man's head into a tall, sturdy oak, sending tremors to the farthest tips. "I would have hated for the young lady to see the mess I am going to make out of you."
"Believe you me, mage." the pink-haired man sneered, even as blood flowed freely from various places all over his body, "It is no longer the girl we are focused on. You Banished a matriarch of the Risk tribe, and for that, you must suffer."
"The only suffering I have had to endure is your ceaseless chatter." Silvarn growled as he spun around, using Twilight to dig a ditch in the ground with the demon as a trowel, sending him crashing into another tree. "Tell me where the rest of your tribe is, demon, and you shall be the last of them to perish."
"I am no demon, you fool!" the pink-haired man shot back.
"Your natural resiliance and pink hair beg to differ. Plus, a cousin of yours tells me otherwise." Silvarn scowled.
"Oh...so it has been you we have been sensing." the demon smiled wickedly. "We have been trying to find the both of you, apparently, have we not, brothers?"
"'We?' as in multiple?" Silvarn asked rhetorically.
"How fortunate that we should find the both of you here and rid ourselves of two problems with one swift stroke." the demon growled, almost cheerfully, as his pink-haired brethren emerged from the shadows of the trees.
"It will be easier for you to grasp smoke than touch me, demons. And recall, where there be smoke," Silvarn's hands smoldered with thick, grey mist as silver lightning crackled from his eyes, "There be death."
One of the younger hunters ventured forward, his nails increased to lethal lengths, reflecting the Shadow used to augment them. With a vicious snarl, he lunged at the mage's exposed back, seeking for blood and glory. He never had a chance.
Silvarn spun around, smacking the dangerous nails out of harm's way, then slammed his energy-crackling fist into the young demon's belly. As the air rushed from his lungs, so did his life. In a burst of silver light, the demon exploded into hundreds of bits, splattering all over Silvarn, the demons, and the surrounding scenery.
"Run back to your tribe, and tell them this is the fate which awaits them if they dare tempt Silvarn Grey-Eyes!" the mage roared at the remaining demons, sending out a flare of silver light for emphasis.
The demons fled from the mage, wiping their fallen comrade from themselves. Soon, Silvarn stood alone. Or, at least, alone as he could be.
You do realize you have just killed another one of those Risk demons, yes? Scorcahr whined.
"The chunks of flesh do make it rather clear, Scorcahr."
And that you have now slaughtered two of their tribe?
"If my memory and arithmetic serve me correctly, then, yes."
And now they will be hunting you down more fiercely than ever, now?
"I am counting on it."

Raine blinked at Samuels comment and smiled slightly, shaking her head. "Yeah, probably. Hey Samuel, I'm sorry if I said something harsh to you before. I just...I don't want anyone to fight anymore. I'm so tired of my family after me and other bounty hunters just wanting to collect the money for my head. I feel like the fighting is useless. I'm different, so they think I should die because I am different. It shouldn't have to be that way. No one should die because of that. And yes, I did kill my father, I will find some way to repay that. Even if it does cost me my life. But I made a promise that I would never let those Risk demons kill me. Never." She looked over at him into his eyes. "And that's that. Thank you for protecting me."

He glanced over at her, pulling his horse to a stop beside hers. He listened intently and smiled, nodding. "It was my pleasure." He replied, soon adding. "And I intend on not letting them kill you. You have as much right to live as anyone I know, even if you killed a family member." His voice showed a concered tone and so did his face.

Hold a moment, grey one. Scorcahr whined. "What is it now?" Silvarn growled as he tried to pick bits of demon from his heavy grey robes. That pink-haired female we met earlier..."Laraine?" Yeah, her. I told you she was a half-breed."Yes, and?" Her surname is Lockner Risk, if that old bat we Banished was not lying. She and that whelp we chased off said the demons are the Risk tribe."What are you getting at, Scorcahr?" Silvarn's patience began to run dry. What of Laraine's other bloodline, the Lockners? Perhaps, if we kill enough of the Risk demons, we could convince the Lockners to become friends with us. Two birds, one stone."You are a , twisted fiend, Scorcahr." Silvarn smiled wickedly, "And that is why I keep you around." All we have to do is track down these Lockners. Scorcahr whined.
