Adalyn left her small house and headed away from the busy town.
She found her a nice little spot underneath a tree. The weather was on her side today. The warm summer breeze kissed her cheeks, as Adalyn opened up a notebook that she wrote in these were, her own little fairy tails... usually romance stories.
She looked around her trying to think of a place to begin. when in the distance she seen someone riding toward her on a black stallion. Adalyn hid her notebook behind her back and watched as the rider galloped closer.

Guang was tired. It had been a long journey to the Dermun and back. He had been there for over a month and the work had been long and tedious, but it had been prosperous as well. Guang smiled thinking about the money. It would be nice to have time off too. Guang was thinking of rewarding himself by taking a few months off and maybe a vacation somewhere. He couldn't go home, but he might be able to go a different place.
He was riding a black stallion that was dead on his feet too. He had bartered for it after a few days of walking and he would get a good profit for it in Tamasha. Horses, especially of good quality, were easy to sell and worth a lot of money to all the travelers.
Guang saw a young lady sitting under a tree as he neared the edge of town. She did not look very old, but she was watching Guang intently...possibly because she had never seen a gnome before. Guang shrugged and stopped in the shade of the tree, loosing his canteen from the pommel of his saddle and drinking deeply.
"Young lady." Guang nodded and smiled politely. "What are you doing?"

Adalyn looked up at the man drinking from his canteen. He spoke.
Adalyn had been in some sort of trance because never had she seen a gnome before until now, come to think of it Adalyn had never left Tamasha village. She was the type of girl that longed for adventure but was afraid of what people in the village may think of her if she left without returning. They may think that she was to weak to even stand a chance against the world outside the village.
"Hello." she slightly bowed her head and smiled. The horse he rode was georgous. "Um... nothing sitting here tring to relax away from all the chaos at home and in town." Adalyn stated and left the book ehind her back then placed her hands in her lap, as if she were doing nothing.

Guang watched her fidget before speaking again. "People all over the world run from their troubles and their pain. Sadly, it seems that the trouble never goes away...and sometimes it seems to follow them forever." Guang's eyes went distant and he remembered a time well back in his past now, but not forgotten. His horse snorted, bringing him back to the present.
He drank again from the canteen and smiled down at the lady. "My name is Guang of the Gnorash. What is yours? What trouble at home brings you to this lovely spot on a day like today?"

"My name is Adalyn Rivers born and raised in Tamasha Village." Adalyn answered with soft smile. "It just ever since my mom remarried i have been like a slave to her and her new husband. Their house burnt down in town a while back and now they are staying with me. I don't even have my own room to myself anymore." angered surged through Adalyn's veins. "I just can't stand him!" Adalyn broke down right there in front of the gnome she didn't even know. "It's just hard for me... I don't approve of my mother marrying another man right after she became a widow." Adalyn pulled her knees up to her chest. "I'm sorry you really didn't need to hear all of that... I just couldn't retain it any longer." Adalyn wipped the ters from her eyes and glanced at the gnome then looked down at the grass.

Guang listened to the outburst that reduced the young lady to tears. He shook his head sadly and put away his canteen. He stepped down off the horse and tied the rope around the neighboring tree. He sat down beside the girl.
"I am sorry to hear that. It can be easy when family is going through a pain they think no one can understand. At least you still have a family, even if it is not the family you remember or the family that you are fond of that often." He reached over and patted her gently on the hand around the knees.
"Be thankful that you have family. The world can be a lonely place. As for your new father, it does not sound as though he will endear himself for very long to your mother or other people. Tamasha may be a large city, but it has many village attributes. He may find himself unwelcome soon enough."

Adalyn looked over to him, with tear glazed eyes. "I'm sorry if I said anything out of the way, I just couldn't hold it in any longer." A cool breeze swept over Adalyn which gave her chills. Adalyn touched the Gnomes hand, "thank you for being kind to me. I rarely get kindness like that anymore." Adalyn let out a long sigh to fight back any stray tears that may accidentally come from her aqua colored eyes.
"It just my family uses me for reasons that I can't really say. It's a bit forbidden." Adalyn flashed a small smile in his direction. "Don't worry about me and my problems, you look as if you may have problems of your own. So I wouldn't want to be any type of burden."

Guang nodded slowly, confusion wrinkling his brow. "Does your family use you in a way other than for lodging? Why is it forbidden? Is it a family secret in the ways that some families hand down recipes?"
Guang sat back against the tree and let the light wind ruffle his hair and cool his body. "What do you do in town? Do you live nearby?"

Adalyn shook her head, "no it's not like a recipe you pass down it's more of a forbidden secret they like to keep from everyone to make them look good. They like using me so that they don't have to work for a living, my step father who hardly knows me hits me or leaves me inside a burning house and just don't care. He just takes advantage of us." Adalyn looked over Guang, her temper rising just thinking about her step father. She couldn't stand him.
"I work in town at a small pub as a waitress. Yes, I live just over the hill there -- in my own little cottage which my parents have taken over." Adalyn sighed and then took out her notebook and sat it in her lap.

"Why not do something else with your life?" Guang asked after a while. The girl had returned to her notebook after her explanation of who she was and her life with her parents. Guang didn't wait for her to look up before he continued. "I know life doesn't always give you what you want in life. But sometimes you have to find ways to make something good out of the bad. What has happened doesn't have to be the only thing in your life. Find something good and make it your life."
Guang looked at her and smiled. He stood and went back to his horse. "I don't mean to disturb you any longer. I hope that you find what you are looking for." Guang lifted himself into the saddle and looked down at her once more. "If you ever want someone to talk too, I live in the far end of Tamasha, over by the older residential section." He started the horse off walking and waved back once, leaving the girl alone with her thoughts and her notebook.
