Name: Garrett
Nickname: N/A
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 26
Description
Appearance: Garrett is probably the cleanest looking of anyone who runs business on the docks in Lonea Lake. Not formal by any means, he simply wears a black cotton shirt with a v-neck, and a pair of tan pants that tuck into knee high leather boots. His outfit is simple, loose and often shows off his dark tan. His hair is a dark brown and is tied back into a ponytail using a frayed ribbon he probably found on the dock somewhere. His left ear is decorated with silver earrings. They are simple silver hoops, only one with a delicate chain that dangles down. The charm seems to have broken off of this one.
He also wears a god awful amount of rings on both hands. Each of the rings is silver. Each with at least one precious gem embedded in the metal. Some say that the rings have special qualities, and Garrett laughs at these rumors.
Across his right side, up his neck, down his arm and across his back are a series of tribal tattoos. They are gray and faded, and don’t seem to have anything special about them. He also has a small dot and triangle tattooed just below his right eye, which draw you to gaze into his icy blue eyes. But the attention might be stolen by the sight of his left eye. The iris seems to have had a chunk cut clean out of it, but by no blades or wounds. It just seems to be missing. Like the charm from his earring.
Garrett also has a series of faint scars that run down his arms and back. How he got them is a genuine mystery to anyone not cutting deals with him. The only thing genuinely intriguing about this man’s attire is the long coat he wears outside. He seems to have just recently acquired it, seeing as his skin is in fact tan, and the long coat covers a substantial
amount of skin. The coat is black, like most long coats. It has white trim on the sleeves and down the collar and opening. But it is also tediously detailed with faint gray patterns. Each of them unique, curving and spiraling like the tattoos on his body.
This coat is unique because it is able to withstand incredible amounts of heat and actually seems to cool down its wearer. Not only that, but its pockets seem to have an endless capacity, seeing as he almost never runs out of throwing knives. Not to mention the faint glow the gray lines emit seemingly at
random.
Bio
Personality: Garrett is a curious figure. He usually just keeps to himself, though he is very courteous. He enjoys a good drink with his close “acquaintances” every now and then and he definitely loves the docks. He is not quick to anger and actually finds it quite humorous when people try to anger him. However if he is ever pushed to anger, he always remains collected so that he might analyze the situation more clearly.
Very rarely is he seen with a sour face, and it’s an even rarer occasion seeing him angry.
Garrett is also a suave businessman. With his way with words and often confusing deals it is very difficult to say “no” to anything he has to offer. Partly because what he does offer, is food. It’s not often he has to persuade anyone with food, especially the poorer people around where he works. He is not unfair in his dealings, but if someone can’t deliver and the deal falls through… well, the consequences could be severe.
After all Garrett does seem a bit of a sadist.
History: Ever since he was a young man, Garrett loved to cook. His parents encouraged this all throughout his life, and he made extravagant dishes out of the silliest things. He also loved ships. Garrett was raised around ships, as his father was a marine. So he’d always loved the sight of them and often went down to the docks just to watch them.
Throughout most of his childhood his father tried to teach him the ways of the sword. To be honest, Garrett was not at all very good with the long awkward swords the marines carried with them. In fact, he was terrible at using them. So one day, he just brought his cooking knife to practice. This was at once a realization and a terrible accident. Garrett was exceedingly skilled in using knives.
So skilled he could easily put his own father back on his heels. This was the realization. His father recognized the style of attack and understood that Garrett would not be one for combat like that which they were practicing. No, his child’s moves where too quick and precise for swordplay. Garrett would strike from behind, or come from the side and kill quickly.
That is what Garrett did, and that was the accident. Garrett threw an attack he thought was easily blocked to set up for his next attack. He did not, however, take into account that his father was off balance already, and couldn’t hope to block it. With his momentum set, Garrett could not stop.
His father died that day, but Garrett was not blamed. No one could understand why such a young man, at the age of 15, could kill such a skilled marine. It was not of course on purpose, so it was labeled a freak accident.
Garrett continued to live with his mother, with notable changes in his personality. No one could remember the Garrett he was before the accident save for his mother, who died of heart difficulties after he turned 20. After her death, and in both of his parent’s memories, he started a restaurant on the docks. Though, he hopes to someday move his cooking talents onto the deck of a ship. His motives and purpose nowadays are somewhat of a mystery. He obviously still loves to cook and wants to be the best, but that doesn’t seem his only goal. After all, Garrett loves money and rare gems, which would be hard for even the greatest in all the land to come across even if such a were to cook for royalty. At least, not in the quantities that Garrett would be satisfied with.
