Name: Aneira "Nex" Nemore
Age: 21 (appears 17)
Race: Human
Physical Description: Aneira looks rather young for her age, to the point where Aneira doesn't even bother giving her real age anymore. She's very pale, having spent most of her time indoors, only out at night, with dark circles under her eyes due to lack of sleep. She's very thin, even almost sickly, always appearing as if on the point of collapse. Her hair is very long, past her waist, and is black save for one pale-blonde streak. Her eyes are a startling blue, pale but intense. She's not a very pretty person, in general. She usually seems overdressed, normally not wearing less than three layers. Long pants, belted with three belts that have an assortment of pouches carrying many necessary things. She wears a shirt, then a thick sweater, and finally a long black jacket. Sturdy leather boots that belt up complete the ensemble. Her clothes are usually three colours: black, dark brown, or a dark, dull green. Her height is roughly 5’4”.
Personality: She's incredibly shy, and wary of people due to her somewhat illegal form of magic (necromancy). She's normally on the edge of the crowd, looking as if she wants to join in, but never does. She's kindly, however, and often goes out of her way to help those in need, especially children, of which she adores.
History: Her parents weren't very attentive, being keen on trying to expand their tailoring shop, which took up all their time. She took to playing with the local children, until an older man invited her to visit him in his cottage just outside the city. For the next ten years she would visit nearly everyday, and slowly learn the tricky art of necromancy- along with a few other bits of petty magic. Eventually, he was discovered and put to death, and Aneira was banished from the city. She moved on to another country, and set up a small daycare of sorts in the market, to keep children amused- and safe- while their parents shopped unhindered. As these stories normally go, she was once more discovered, and chased by the city guards. She suffered a blow to the back of her head, and was left for dead within the fields. She was not dead, however, merely knocked unconscious, and a passing traveller had her taken to a healer and saved… but not whole.
The blow to her head had left her damaged; she could no longer fully control her death magic, eternally open to the pulsing flow of the stream of death that flowed throughout the world. At times things would be bidden to life without the proper enchantments and spells, and they were nearly impossible to dispel, although they usually returned to their rest within a few hours, and most were not more than a squirrel, mayhap a deer if the surges were strong enough. But necromancy became a dangerous thing for her, Aneira having to make sure she went through each incantation, each small hand gesture, each symbol, with complete precision, lest things go awry in the most horrible way. The death magics leeched life force from the user when used, but since she was constantly open to the magics, it drained her life force non-stop, although it was far less than most necromancers ever felt, and she was normally able to replenish her life enough with small enchantments with her petty magic. Because of this, she was nearly always ill, and using her necromancy had her coughing blood, or other such signs of a weak body.
Over the next couple of years, she was granted the name “Nex” amongst necromancer circles, a Latin word for ‘violent death’, as the only humanoid dead she seemed to be able to rise were those who had died bloodily, whether in battlefield, execution, or murder. Currently, she wanders from town to town, earning an income by making small charms to ward off evil, or to encourage pregnancy, or other such things. She hopes, however, to one day make a name in the world as a Great Necromancer, and this dark ambition smoulders quietly beneath her otherwise kind nature.
Strengths: Can summon rather strong shielding (needed to protect herself from her summonings). Her magic is a force to be reckoned with, if she could only control it.
Weaknesses: Incredibly weak, with nearly no stamina. Is often naïve and tricked easily, especially if overtired. Has difficulty controlling her magic.
Miscellaneous: Once she completes a successful incantation, her eyes do something rather weird, unseen before with other necromancers: her pupils grow to black rings, the centre a bloody red, with the piercing blue of her iris’ a chilling backdrop to the unnatural phenomenon. It is speculated this is caused by her unnatural connection to the death magics.
When asked her age, she often responds with the cryptic “I am older than I appear, but younger than I seem”.
