Name: Rukkus
Age: 24 Years Old; Approx. similar to the age of 15 for dragons.
Race: Mix breed dragon
Physical Description: Rukkus is approximately the same size as the average horse, and is just about as skinny as one, though he weighs much more. His bones are thick and dense, and are preparing for a lot of growing to come his way over the next hundred years or so. His neck is long, and is about the same length as his thick tail behind him. Because of his strange mix in dragon breeds, he has no scales. He assumes that he might be some sort of mix between a water dragon and a regular earth dragon, but he'll never be sure. His skin is very thick, and a charcoal black color. It is smooth and soft to the touch, and is much like a water-tight skin that could be on various animals, such as a seal.
His wings are very large and similar to that of a bat's. When he extends his wings fully and flies overhead, with the sun or moon above him, his wings turn slightly translucent and appear to be greyish-blue. Rukkus' claws, small budding horns, and teeth are an innocent milky white color, which really stand out from his charcoal black skin. His eyes are a deep dark blue color that would appear to be black unless you are right up in his face.
Rukkus, although he is a dragon, isn't too much of a threat. He can be ridden on if he is walking along the ground, though it is hard for a rider to stay 'on', simply because he has no horns or scales to cling to, and his skin can become slippery when it's wet or the rider's bottom is sweaty, and he can not yet support anyone with any real weight in the air. He cannot breathe fire yet, and is not even sure if his mix of breeds can support breathing fire. Until he grows bigger he won't be of too much use in battle, and even then he will be easy to injure because of his lack of scales.
Personality: If anything were to get Rukkus into trouble, it would be his fiery personality. He is always ready and willing to jump into an argument, whether he is prepared or not. He considers himself to always be right, and has a rough time admitting his faults, apologizing, or the like.
He is stubborn, and gets frustrated easily. If he ever comes across a time where someone tells him he cannot do something, he will go out of his way to attempt the impossible. It's almost as if he is always trying to prove to himself and others how strong he is, how smart he is, and how brave he is. This, undoubtedly, is sure to cause him grief in the future.
One good aspect of his personality is that he is always keen to learn. He always wants to know something new, to be shown how to do something, or to discover something by himself. He is also fiercely loyal. Once he makes a friend he won't abandon him or her, unless that friend betrays his trust or something like that.
History: Rukkus was born alone. His father was a water dragon, and his mother was a very young earth dragon. She was dark blue, and had magnificent scales. He had dark oily skin. The young female thought that the male loved her, and that he was going to abandon his water clan for the earth so that they could be together. Unfortunately, this was not so. The young female got pregnant, and when the male found out he left her and never returned near land again. The female left her clan for the duration of her pregnancy, and then gave birth to her egg. She was a very kind, gentle soul, so she wasn't about to leave her egg to die. She carried her egg up the side of a mountain that was once an active volcano, and dug into the side until she found it was warm. It was a thermal vent. She created a cave just large enough for her egg and the egg's hatching and first few weeks of life. Then she left it.
She went back to her clan, where she told them that she had been lost hunting. It had been three months, but they all believed her. Rukkus hatched from his egg, and turned out to be a strong little bugger despite his abandonment. He spent his first few weeks learning to move around by himself and eating insects, and small mammals and amphibians. He was not nearly as fearless as he should have been. If he were brought up with a clan, they would have been proud of him. Rukkus, if he were to continue his cavernous lifestyle he would have grown up dumb, unable to communicate, living off the land like he was. Fortunately, or unfortunately, he soon outgrew the tiny cave his mother had dug for him. He had no choice but to stumble down the side of the mountain, soaring here and there when he opened his wings for balance. At the cave floor he found various animal species in which he learned from. The wolf, from watching afar, taught him about leadership, grouping, and hunting. He would mimic the movements of the wolf when he stalked small prey, and soon became able to feed himself.
Unfortunately, he never had enough food. In a clan food would be provided for him so that he could spend all of his time growing. Rukkus grew stunted, but strong. He would probably never grow to be the same size as most adult males, nor would he be as strong.
Rukkus wandered farther and farther away from home. His mind wandered, also. The dragon's telepathic ability, where they can share thoughts, feelings, and emotions by connecting their minds with others, was not completely lost on Rukkus. His mind was usually open, where he learned to pick up on feelings of other animals and interpret them. Eventually he wandered near a small human village. The humans frightened him far more than anything he had encountered in the wild did. They frightened him because each human was always so full of so many different emotions. By hiding in the dark and sneaking close to the village in the dead of night, Rukkus learned more about conversing, emotions, and other such things than he ever did in the wild. He was extremely curious, and absorbed any information that came his way. Eventually he began to pick up on language cues, and think similarly to the humans around him. It's only a matter of time before he was discovered...
