Raine looked over to him, then back ahead of her. "How much longer? Two or so more days till the next town? Do you think we can survive it Amrod?"
She met his eyes, which as always seemed a million miles away.
He's a good person, but he has such sad eyes. What could have possibly happened in his life to trouble him so?
She looked back at the ground, hesitant to ask such a question. He was, after all her protector, so she didn't want to push him too hard.
Yet, she worried about him as they walked, awaiting his answer.

How much longer? Two or so more days till the next town? Do you think we can survive it Amrod?
Amrod turned slowly and looked into Raine's purple eyes. Deciding that it was a legitimate question to be answered nicely and not with a sneering attitude. He calmly stated, I will make it easily, I am used to more tedious travels. You will make it, thanks to the energu I used on you to fix your arm. You have much of my stamina. Twichey, I am not sure. He seems... Amrod pauses for a second to think of an appropriate term ...lacking.
Looking back at Twichey, he noticed that he was starting to look haggard and worn.
Maybe tyring to follow you two was not his smartest idea.
Twichey does not have many "smart" ideas, he is an impulse person. But thinking about it, never actually seems to work for him.

Raine nodded, accepting his answer and looked back at Twitchey. She felt sorry for him. For once Raine didn't speak. She had too much on her mind, this trip was becoming more dangerous and she didn't have a choice but to fight. She wished there was another way.
I wish I was stronger...
Hours past as they walked, Raine not saying anything.
Then she heard it. A strange rumbling sound. She frowned, trying to figure out what could be causing such a sound.
That's when she saw a wall of sand before the three of them.
"Sand...storm?" Raine spoke the words to herself in confusion.

Sand...storm?
Amrod turned from looking at Twichey and looked towards the direction of the sandstorm. Turning back to Twichey and then looking at Raine he realized that he could only keep one safe, the other would need to fend for themselves. Amrod dashed to Raine and grabbed her, flinging his cloak around both of them and turning their backs to the front of the storm.
Close your eyes, head towards the ground and don't breath!
Amrod was enlightened to see that Raine listened to him without a second thought. He looked towards where Twichey had been standing, and noticed him kneeling, head up, eyes open, staring directly at the storm.
What is he...?
He feels as though he is holding you two back. You are moving slower than you would be without him. He has no where to go, and nothing else to do. He is saccrificing himself for his friend.
Amrod closed his eyes and turned to the ground. He almost inaudibly whispers, Twichey, thank you...for being my only friend.
The storm quickly raged up from behind Raine and Amrod. Any thing else Amrod wanted to say, he decided would have to wait.

[navy]Twichey chanted as the storm began to swell. "Is this your test master? Then I shall amuse you" He fell to his knees and began to chant.[/navy] [black][glow=black,2,300] Master of all masters, darker than night. Aid me in this fight. I give my flesh I give my mind, in hopes a new body I will find."[/glow][/black][navy] He saw Amrod look back at him. Twichey gave Amrod a wink, and then saw him lower his head. He said something but all Twichey could read from his lips was the word friend.
"Don't worry guys ill be back. My master will guide me." He shouted at the top of his lungs. He reached into his bag and pulled out a black ball. He smiled and looked up to the storm. "Come and get me...IF YOU CAN!!" Twichey threw the ball at his feet and black smoke surrounded him. "Hear i come master!" He shouted as he vanished in the sand and smoke. "HAHAHAHAHA"...... his laugh faded into the dust as the storm raged.[/navy]This is my goodbye for now i may come back if i think the story could use me but now im just holding you guys back. -

Raine blushed but closed her eyes as the sand storm raged around them. She wanted to help Twitchy but it felt as if her body was made of lead. She couldn't move, couldn't breathe, couldn't think as she lay in the sand, Amrod's cloak protecting them both from the harsh storm before them.
She grasped the cloak tighter around her and felt herself getting closer to Amrod. The sand pummeled the cloak and Raine wondered if it would tear through the fabric .
No I must not think negative thoughts, I will get through this somehow...
But, still unconsciously she grasped Amrod's hand nearby, as if seeking comfort.

Amrod stayed as he was. Afraid that the simplest of movements would move the cloak and expose Laraine. He was pouring every ounce of energy he had into the cloak, which mere months ago had survived a storm much worse than this.
Raine's hand grasped Amrod's. He could feel the warmth emanating off of her hand and into his. However, as much as he wanted to, he could, in no way, pull his hand away. Amrod slowly turned to Raine and could see the expression on her face. She was scared, afraid of something. Whether it was the storm or something entirely different he knew nothing of.
Moving his left shoulder so that he could slide more of the cloak towards her, hoping she was scared of the storm, which he could help right now.
And you want to tell me that you are not in love?
Love is an emotion described upon by feelings. Feelings that of which you know or can expect. You cannot unexpectedly fall in love, you know it is coming and you prevent it. Love gets in your way. This is merely, a sense of preotection or duty. I can not fall in love with her. Can I?
Why ask me, when you already know the answer....lover boy.
Amrod looked at Raine again, he could feel the storm strengthening behind them. He started to transfer all of his energy into the cloak. Keeping it a safe haven and keeping them alive. Looking at Raine one more time before he put his head down, Amrod remembered her hand.
Amrod looked at her hand, wrapped in his, as if begging for comfort. The right side of Amrod's mouth twitched up, into a very rare smile. As he closed his eyes slowly, he clenched her hand. Hoping it was enough, for her to not be scared.

Raine felt the slight tightness around her hand and looked over at Amrod. His eyes were closed, but also held her hand tightly, as if telling her everything would be all right.
Raine finally realized what happened and blushed, turning her head back down, closing her eyes and waiting for the storm to be over. What am I doing? Why am I so scared anyways? I promised myself I wouldn't show my fears to anyone. so why?
Her grip on his hand lessened.
I'm probably only being a nuisance to him by doing this.
Almost hesitantly, she started to pull her hand away, wondering if he would release her hand or keep holding on.
It's better this way...
She locked away her heart once more, the mask firmly planted over her soul.
This is the only way I know how to protect myself. I can't be a problem for anyone.
The winds around them began to slowly calm.

She is scared. She is pulling away from what she thought was safe. Why? Unless, she thinks she can hurt me.
Amrod slowly moves his head so he can see Raine. She was deep in thought, she looked confused. He slowly tightened his grip on her hand. She was scared and alone. He wasn't letting her go and get hurt. He had helped too much to fail now.
You care about her. You don't want to see her hurt.
No, I just find it pointless to come this far and lose the second companion of a three party group.
Amrod slowly started to feel the wear on his body from the loss of energy. But he could not stop the flow of energy or the storm would surround Raine and himself. He continued to look strong and breathe slowly. Not showing any sign of wear. He needed to stay strong, just until the storm wore out.
With that, Amrod clenched Raine's hand tighter, to show her that she wasn't leaving, and that she was safe. He closed his eyes, and focused all his efforts into staying strong and not showing any signs of energy loss.
Raine still didn't know he was emptying his Gleer vyrdeseum, better known as his, "energy source." And as far as he was concerned, she never would.

Raine looked over, shocked when Amrod grasped her hand tighter.
Why is he?
She looked down at her hand, he was grasping onto it with all his might. He glanced at her before concentrating on the sandstorm.
Raine felt a warmth in her chest while looking at their interlocked hands. She smiled gently, holding onto his hand.
But why, I should be nothing to him..I have to do something...I wont let him be hurt because of me. So I will do all I can with all my strength...
Suddenly the winds grew stronger. Raine gasped as they hit the cloak hard. She closed her eyes and grasped onto his hand tighter.

The storm struck the cloak harder than Amrod expected. Jolted out of his concentration, he could feel the fabric start to tear.
No!
Amrod thrust all of his energy into the cloak, leaving himself defneseless magically were something to attack. However, he didn't care. Raine staying alive was his number one priority right now.
Lunging back into his concentration, Amrod keeps every part of his energy transferred into the cloak. Enough energy to destroy whole cities, used simply to keep a simple, seemingly useless female safe.
You do strange things when you are in love, lover boy.
Keeping his concentration, Amrod could think of no retort to Urisen. He put it off in the back of his head, in order to comment later.
Amrod took a deep breath, looked down at his and Raine's hands, and closed his eyes.
Inaudibly he whispers, Burzum. The sky above Raine and Amrod turned dark. The clouds rolling in the sky. The wind, slowly dying. Amrod slowly pulls the cloak off of him and Raine. Watching the last of the storm pass by.
He lets go of her hand quickly and turns to walk away.
You probably should rest
No
Instantly Amrod grabbed Raine, threw the cloack back over them, just as the sky brightened and the winds started up again. Throwing his energy to his subconcious, Amrod fell to the ground. The cloak staying around Raine and him, as the storm rages around them again. His energy converting into the cloak again.
Amrod slowly lost complete conciousness, leaving his subconcious keeping the cloak safe. As he fell deep into darkness.

"Amrod? Amrod!" Raine shook him gently but she got no response.
Oh no, he's worn himself out. I have to do something to keep him safe. But, none of my magic will work with this dangerous sand storm...
She closed her eyes, Amrod laying next to her.
Maybe..if I can somehow transfer my energy to him...
She extended her hand through the sand to him and touched his arm gently.
Please, if nothing else, keep him safe.
Raine's body glowed pink as the energy was sent into Amrod's body, giving him strength. Her warm aura caressed his body as it left her own.
She pulled herself closer to him and put her arm around him, giving him as much energy as she could offer him. Her face was a inch from his ear.
"You idiot." She didn't sound mad as she said this. " You don't have to do this alone you know. Let me help you all right?"
She didn't wait for a response as she closed her eyes tightly, sending all her energy into him.
I may be nothing but a weak hybrid, who was doomed from the start. But, I wont sit by and watch as someone I care for is in trouble. Whether he likes it or not I'm helping him.

The sky turned black right in front of him. He saw the sky rip open and a chasm form right in front of the city.
He looked down at his hands, his left hand covered in flames, his right invisible, blending in with the night sky. The amulet that had been his lovely mother's visible on his chest, glowing iridescently, going from red to orange, to yellow, to black, to becoming translucent, and back to red.
Opening his eyes, Urisen saw the destruction that was lain in front of him.
What happened?
Urisen saw the burn marks on his left side and the amulet at his feet. The knot keeping it together, torn. Urisen bent over, he grabbed the amulet off of the ground and felt that it was warm.
Why is it...? Who did this...? Was it me...?
Urisen slowly rose and thoughts came flooding into his mind.
Anger...Anguish...Chaos...Confusion...Death...Destruction...
Somehow, he knew that they were all centered around him. Urisen let his wings unfold from behind him. His set of 6, that appeared from nowhere and would never stay away. They always unfurled from his cloak, and he could care less.
He felt warm. Not the warmth of fire or anything known to him. He felt an arm. He smelt something familiar and yet unfamiliar.
Amrod opened his eyes and noticed the cloak stayed where it was, but Raine had her arm over him. She was concentrating, he felt stronger.
Why do I feel this way?
Look.
Amrod looked at Raine. She was concentrating, however she was sleeping. She seemed weary.
She...
Since you blacked out, she has been draining her energy into you. Honestly, quite disturbing.
Amrod quickly surveyed the scene, he noticed the storm had stopped. Before she woke up, he threw every ounce of sparable energy into Raine. He then grabbed the cloak, laid it over her, and sat up. He slowly began to sharpen his arm blades.

Raine slowly awoke, her eyes opened gently.
"Amrod?" She whispered and pulled herself up to face him. She watched him as he sharpened his knives, realizing she had a lot of her energy back that she used on him.
But how?
She looked at his back and then smiled. " I'm glad you are all right Amrod. That was a close call." she laughed lightly and then handed him his cloak.
"We should get going now." She stood up and started to walk through the sand.

Amrod watched as Raine walked away, through the desert. The last remnants of the storm still whipping through the air.
He slowly retracted his arm blades and flicked his wrists to lock them in place. He patiently strode after her, keeping his distance and yet close enough to spring into action if something arose.
She feels strongly for you, and yet she is afraid to show you. She is impudent and yet she is strong. She is unwilling and yet self-sacrificial. She is you, and not you.
Sometimes, I am pretty sure that you talk, just to hear yourself talk. I don't think you have any other reason, other than you like your dull, drawn out, over-powerful, voice.
So the one time I compliment you, you berate me and try to belittle me. I knew that there was a reason that I didn't like mortals, you arrogant, self-conceited, pompous......she is hiding something. Something, important.
Amrod quickened his pace, as soon as he caught up to Raine he looked straight, while glancing over to see what she was doing.
I have reason to suspect you know something of dire importance. I will ask simply and plainly. What is it?
