Renkhal wrapped his arms around her, lifting her up into his arms and looking around. He returned to where he had left his pack, at the makeshift camp, and wrapping her up in his cloak before settling on the ground, holding her.
"Just rest. We'll move on as soon as you are steady, so that we might be a little harder to find," he told her.

Raine blinked, looking up at him and smiling softly. "Thank you.. Renkhal..I don't know why...but I feel..so safe..with you..." She drifted off to sleep in his arms.
It was true she felt safe with this strange man, even though they had met only hours before. She didn't understand it herself.
It's almost the same..with Danny...
As she slept comfortably in his arms a stray pink hair slid in between her eyelids near her nose.

Renkhal flushed a little. He wasn't sure how to respond to that, but he was glad that she felt safe. He let himself express a small smile, and brushed the hair from her face gently.
"Sleep well. I'll watch over you," he mumbled softly, leaning back against the rock of the overhang. And, true to his word, he watched over her and listened for any coming dangers.

Raine slept for a long time, but finally started to awaken as the sun rose. She opened her eyes slowly and sat up, she still had her wounds hurting but she felt more energetic than she was.
She looked over to Renkhal and smiled. "Good morning" She held out his cape. "Thanks again for saving me a second time."

Renkhal smiled and stood up, taking the cloak.
"It was nothing," he said, returning the smile. "Well, let's get going. I'll hunt on the way for breakfast. Besides, I'm sure there's some wild fruit around somewhere, too."
He gathered his things, his cloak getting rolled up and stored in his pack.

Raine nodded and followed him through the woods. She looked around as they walked, she was unsure of what to say, since she felt embarrassed about what she said last night.
This isn't good. I may have to split up with him sooner than expected, If this continues he may be in even more danger. I can't put someone through that pain again...
"We should be getting out of the forest soon. It should only take another day or so.."

Renkhal nodded, smiling at Raine.
"You can relax a little," he said after a little while, noticing her uneasiness and assuming it was because of her apprehension with the recent demon attacks. "I'll stay alert and protect you. You're still healing."

"Ah its okay. I'm not really worried about that." She brushed her hair behind her ear and continued to walk. "But thank you for protecting me. Even though I am still a stranger. You are really a kind man. I'm sure you will make a excellent husband someday."

Renkhal's smile turned sad, and he forced a little laugh.
"Yeah, hopefully," he said. "You aren't really that much of a stranger. Some have trusted others on less than we have."

Raine saw his sad smile and wondered if she said something she shouldn't have.
"Well, I am glad I met you, even if for only a short while.." She blinked, realizing what she said. "I mean, for as long as I have known you. If you...ever need to talk or anything Ill listen. Its the least I can do for you saving me twice now."

Raine nodded. "But I'll be fine, I'm used to it already...if need be I'll use my magic. I don't want you to get hurt fighting those things for me. But if you have any ideas I would like to hear them."
it will be okay, after we leave the forest...he will be safe..

Renkhal let that sink in, and then thought it over. He didn't really know where any mountains were, but north would be the best bet.
"Well, then, north is probably where she would go. What do you say?" he asked.
