Kakra Cruenté }{ Character #3.1

Name: Kakra Cruenté
Age: 200s (appears in mid-to-late twenties)
Race: Pureblood

Appearance: Kakra's hair is cut in shot, choppy layers, and is a dark red in colour. She's of an average height (5'6" or so), and rather voluptuous in figure (for some reason the men seem to approve of this, she's not sure why). Her eyes are strange- the right eye is black, and the left is blood-red, although she uses small appearance-changing magic to make it black most of the time. Otherwise they are narrow and long-lashed. Characteristic of her heritage is her white skin and elongated canines capable of drawing blood. Her manner of dress, while changing, remains fairly constant: a long-sleeved shirt topped with lace and/or frills, with a corset (purely for emphasising her curves. She's a little vain that way), semi-loose pants over small-heeled shoes. The main colour scheme is, almost always, black with red decoration. A curiosity is a strange, occult-like symbol on her chest above her heart, marked in black, that she tries to keep hidden most of the time.

History: She was born as the younger twin to a pure-blooded family, and therefore Kakra and her brother Odion are considered to be omens (although of what kind is anyone’s guess), as fertility is extremely low, and twins until this point have been unheard of. Odion looked very similar to Kakra, except his left eye is red and right eye is black. Kakra and Odion were spoiled during their childhood (as vampires are want to do, considering a child was born usually only 3-5 times per century), and thusly had very high opinions of themselves once they reached adolescence. At that point they were separated for half a century, as Odion was prepared as future ruler of Efferus (‘savage’), their particular faction of vampires. Kakra herself was sent around to quite a few places, learning language, literature, and Human history, as well as controlling and honing her vampiric senses and powers. When she and her brother were reunited, it was a shock for Kakra as the brother she had been so fond of had turned incredibly cruel and ruthless, and from then on she spent a lot of time controlling the worst of moods and ideas, mostly through threat of death. He began to calm down as a century passed, and was made the head of Efferus. His first move was to name Kakra as ambassador and sent her off to various other factions and therefore get her out of his hair. She has made many contacts through the years, however, and almost always knows of what’s going on with her brother, and continues to meddle in his affairs.

A curiosity was noted with the twins when they were younger, in that they appeared to feel what the other was feeling: pain, hunger, happiness, etc. As they grew older they were able to distance most of this, but another curiosity was found: any injury befalling Kakra appeared on Odion as well. The reverse was not true, but another strange thing was found: Odion, if injured mortally, would heal instantly. The elders of all the factions realised that Odion’s fate- that is, whether he remained alive or ended up dead- was entirely up to Kakra’s state of being. This worried the Elders, as Kakra was the only way to keep Odion alive- or dead. Thus the Elders performed a ritual upon Kakra once she was older: they placed a seal upon her, in that the only way that Odion was to die if she did, was if she was pierced through the seal and into the heart with a silver or sun-magicked blade.

Kakra could still die in other ways, of course- but Odion would not be dragged with her. It was often assumed that if she died, Odion would become an immortal, which was worrisome but for now, this was their best option- it would do no good to lose their leader, after all.

Personality: She shares in the belief that vampires should rule over humans, although she places them a little further above 'cattle' as many vampires of her faction believe. She still considers herself superior, especially because of her status as minor nobility, and as such often comes across as condescending and cold. She's used to getting her way and thus acts a bit spoiled at times, and can go into a fit if she's challenged too often. She has sense of humour (often situated around plays-on-words, sadly enough), unlike her stiff brother, and will generally get along with people if they can overlook her superior attitude.

Strengths: Superior strength and agility, along with heightened senses. Impervious to holy water, crosses, and the sun (surprisingly), many wounds, and poison. Fairly intelligent because of her time abroad. Plus, she has this nice curvy body that men find very distracting for some reason.
Weaknesses: While able to survive under the sun, it robs her of nearly all of her vampiric powers, excepting the senses. In fact, she becomes even more vulnerable to physical wounds and poison than even a human is. Also unable to stand silver, most holy (or “sun-magicked”) spells, and is of course driven by her hunger for blood on a daily basis, which can often corrode her sensibility if left unsatisfied for long enough.

Miscellaneous: “Kakra” is a name that means “youngest twin”, while “Odion” is a name that means “eldest of twins”. Odion shares all her strengths and weaknesses (sans the curvy body- that would just be weird). Their surname, Cruenté, is a corruption of the Latin “cruentus”, meaning bloody. Of her faction she has the most moderate views, making her a tad more liked by other Factions.
