<OOC, I've never role played before...Please bear with me. > Winter Frost flew through the forest, alone as she's always been. Content as she sat down on the mossy green, and daydreamed of a different life. A life where she could be normal, as she's always been curious about the humans she's seen in her travels. As her nails started to glow a cerulean blue, she sighed, knowing it was a sign of her impending sadness. So she just waited and enjoyed the silence, because it was all she knew.

Adrian walked through the thicket of trees that was Selkia Forest. He hadn't been here in a long while, and honestly, he was completely and utterly lost. Not that it mattered, he was in no rush to get back. Not like there was anything of dire importance back on the Ridge. It was rather hot, and he ran a hand through his snowy white hair, vaguely wondering if he should set up a fire, He decided against it, the mild temperature and humidity already irritating him. Finally, restless, he took off at a run, one of seemingly inhuman speed (mostly because it was) easily dodging treed and leaping over logs. He wished there was someone around he could talk to, see where the heck he was. And, as if on cue, someone flashed by him in his peripheral vision, someone sitting on the forest floor. He stopped so abruptly he ended up sending himself to the ground himself, and he sat up sheepishly. "Um...Hi..." He said. Whoever it was had very pale skin, and bluish-black hair. He studied her with piercing yellow eyes. "Sorry to just kind of pop up unexpectedly, but can you by any chance tell me where I am? As in, how far away am I from Ularian Ridge?" He knew he was rather far, but just how far, he'd no idea. ((Adrian's character profile: unlimitedfrp.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bios&action=display&thread=588 ))

Winter Frost was shocked, was she really so caught up in day dreaming she hadn't heard someone coming. In a voice that sounded like tinkling bells she warily said, "Hello, um, I'm not quite sure, I'm new to this area myself...My name is Winter Frost...Who are you?" The forest was so desolate, she hadn't expected to see another person here. She was wary of this human, as he seemed to be, his strange yellow eyes did not go unnoticed by her near perfect vision.

Adrian stood, dusting himself off.
"I'm Adrian. Nice to meet you." He looked absently around, then up, then back from the direction they had come, then again back to the girl, Winter Frost.
"Looks like we're both lost." He said, shrugging. He said it like he would say ,'fine weather we're having.' The fact didn't bother him much, really. If it came down to it, he could likely find his way back, if he used all of his resources, but it would take some effort on his part.
The half human fidgeted. He hadn't really talked to anyone else, besides the wolves, for a long time, and wasn't sure how he should behave. He decided the gentlemanly approach would be best. "If you'd like, I can try to get us both un-lost," He said with a crooked grin. Then again, maybe she wanted to be lost? But, she was sitting out here alone, so maybe she was just passing through..."The forest does get very dangerous at night, you know," He said. If she was in fact lost, which he was going to assume was the Case, being lost at night would be ten times worse that being lost during the daytime.

Winter Frost didn't know what to make of this young man..."Well, thanks for the offer, and it's nice to meet you, but, if I may ask...What...are you?" She had seen many humans, although she had never interacted with them, Winter knew that you only had white hair if you where older and yellow eyes weren't very normal...
She didn't come any closer from her seated position so as not to put herself in any danger, just in case. Winter knew that he didn't seem of any harm, but how was she to know if it was all an act. It was not in her nature to be trusting.

At her question Adrian's expression changed immediately from one of interest to one of surprise and a slight bit of resentment. Pain flashed across his eyes for a half second before disappearing. No one had asked him that before, at least not so...directly. It caught him off guard.
He regained his composure and looked to the mossy forest floor. "If you really must know..." He said. "I'm half human, half shape-shifter, though a wolf is the only form I can take." A rather large, imposing wolf at that. "I used to look human, but stayed a wolf too long," He said, trying to explain his appearance. He'd almost forgotten how to turn back. He glanced up again. "To put it shortly, I'm nothing but a mutt." his voice held a scathing undertone, though it was not for Winter. "And if we could, I'd like to leave it at that." The rest of the story was one he rarely told, one that still haunted him.
"Now, you could return the favor and answer your own question," He said. He hadn't been around humans much, but this girl was obviously not among them. He tilted his head slightly, again giving her the casual grin, showing two pointed wolfen fangs amongst his human ones. All traces of previous emotion had fled, leaving only a slight edge to his voice, almost imperceptible.

Winter sighed, "I'm sorry to be so blunt. I don't interact very much with people besides myself. I'm a Fairy. An Ice fairy actually. I can control the weather. But, only slight changes, like of temperature. If I were to change it from hot and sunny to snowy and cold, it would take a lot of energy out of me."
She was surprised she was being so open about her story. She concluded it was not something he would use against her, so she carried on. "Most people think that fairies are very small and tiny, and I could be if I wanted to be. And, don't be ashamed of the fact you can turn into a wolf. If I could be human for just a little while I'd be happy." She gave a small sad smile.
She spread her blue, almost transparent, dragonfly like wings, (That were wrapped around her flat before) and stood up. "But, its who we are, and we can't change that I suppose..." Not seeming at all phased by his larger than average canines.

Adrian was surprised, and a bit mystified, to meet a Fairy. He'd heard of them, but even living so long on the ridge he'd never met one. When she stood, revealing blue wings, he was awed.
"You aren't midding out on much, not being a human," He admitted. "Humans are ruthless, cruel things." He said this ignoring the fact that he was in fact mostly human. "If anything, you should be glad you arent one." In reality, he didn't hate all humans. Some were nice. Just..not the one's he'd ever met. He didn't think he'd ever met a truly nice human, ecxept his little brother.
"I'm not ashamed I can turn canine," He said. "It's just that, among shape-shifters, half-breeds like me are a disgrace. Usually they are killed. In fact, I think I'm the onle one in existance. I would have died too, -" He cut of abuptly.
"Shall we find a safer place to camp?" He asked, changing the subject. "Maybe build a fire, As much as I hate fires when it's warm like this, it will do good to keep away all sorts of nasty things.

She looked around, "Yes I suppose we should..." Choosing to ignore what he said about humans...They were normal. They had lives..They didn't have powers that made them different from the rest... Even if she was wrong, Winter wouldn't dare admit it...
"I haven't a clue where I am, where do you suppose would be safer?" She asked, curiosity flickering through her icy blue eyes. Was this a dangerous place? she thought to herself...Winter chuckled to herself quietly, it isn't places that are dangerous...it was the people abiding in those places... Winter decided she trusted this Adrian fellow, so she didn't say anything after that.

Adrian walked for a short while in silence before shrugging. He turned to her. "Honestly, I have no clue. Here seems a bit safer than in the open, I guess..." They were under an overhang of trees.
"I slept last night, so I don't need to tonight. I can keep watch, make sure nothing decides we'd make good snacks." He didn't need as much sleep as humans did, unless he changed a lot in one day. Then it took a lot out of him. If he went too much and still didn't take time to get his strength back, he'd kill himself.
"Nothing bad should happen, but Selkia forest is a bit unpredictable." He looked around. then down. "If you want, I can make a fire," He was pretty good at it, having to make many per day. But since she was an ice fairy, and he came from freezing regions, he wasn't sure if it would be more of a nuisance than a comfort.

Winter scoffed. "I can look after myself!" She insisted. "You can make a fire...I'm not too fond of them, but whatever makes you most comfortable."
She looked around...It did look like quite an unpredictable forest...Although with her powers she was pretty sure of herself... you never know. Her nails started to glow an odd green that she'd never seen before...She shrugged it off...
"Uh, how old are you exactly?" Winter was merely curious...it was the first time she had ever talked to anyone really...Other than the occasional...Thank you, Your welcome, or excuse me.

"If you're not fond of them, I won't," He said, sitting down. "I don't really like them either, unless I'm back home, or unless I'm cooking something." Not that he often cooked his food, but he refrained from mentioning that. Most people found it a repulsive habit to eat meat raw, so when he was with anyone (which was rare) He cooked it.
"Seventeen," He replied. "At least, I'm pretty sure." He frowned. "I don't quite remember my birthday, but I'm fairly certain the last one was my seventeenth, and I know my eighteenth hasn't since it's not winter yet." It was hard to keep track of sometimes. He glanced up at her. "What about you?"

"I turned 18 last year.." Winter stated matter a'factly. She stared at the forest floor.. "I'm born in the winter also...December 21." She's never celebrated her birthday though...Although she didn't want to depress him, with her sad lonely life...She kept her smile on her face...
Getting tired of the awkward silence she decided to ask another question. "Where are you from? I'm from...I'm not quite sure actually...All I know is that it was cold, and up north."

"Well, I was born in a small village at the foot of Ularian Ridge, but later I left and lived up in the Ridge. So, since I have spent more of my life there than anywhere else, I'll just go with Ularian Ridge." He frowned, listening. The forest was unusually silent. Or maybe it was usual? He shook his head, returning to the matter at hand, but staying wary.
"Which would explain why I'm not the hugest fan of the warmer weathered areas. I think, were I to visit a desert, I would die," He said with a slight laugh. "I don't even know what a desert looks like, actually....just that they're hot." He shrugged, then realized he'd begun to ramble. He sighed. It was kind of a habit of his. "Maybe, since you are from somewhere cold and north, you're from the ridge too, just the more northern part?" He suggested.

"I guess..." Was Winter's brilliant response to his question of her origin. When there was silence for a few moments she decided to go on...She didn't know talking was filled with awkward silences. "I can't stand the heat, if I couldn't change the weather, I think i would die also!" She laughed like tinkling bells.
Her face fit a form of surprise for a second..."Oh, I don't think I have told you, I can change the weather...Make it very hot to very cold...Or just bring the temperature down a degree or two." Winter sighed. "If I try to change the climate drastically, I get very exhausted. So, I usually don't change the weather very much..."
Winter gave a slight smirk. "I guess you could say I'm out of practice." Once again dissatisfied with the awkward silence in the air she decided to keep going. "The reason I'm so tall for a fairy is that I can morph into this height...If I was in my fairy form, I'd be 5 inches. I usually stay in my more human height..The only thing being that small is good for, is stealth." Winter explained, what she thought might of been an unspoken question.
