It had been a few weeks since Kit had last landed in a village. And supplies were running low. Very low. Although he enjoyed the beautiful scenery of nature around him, he needed to find a village or at least someone with food, as he could never kill another animal for food, it was just the person he was.
Laying under a large tree overlooking the mountain range, Kit rummaged through his worn rucksack for the last of his stale bread. With only a mouthful of water to wash it down his dry throat, Kit laid his head against the bark of the unknown tree as he chewed on the small mongrel of food. His white shirt dirtied from being worn for many weeks, his good trousers torn and his sandles on the verge from breaking, he knew he had to go to a village and earn money to buy new clothes and food. Being a elemental controller, it was usually quite easy for him to earn money from his shows, as people enjoyed it immensely, especially when he merged the fire and water together to form a beautiful mysterious lady whom glowed blue and red. The memories of the audience whom always smiled friendly smiles towards him made a slight grin come upon his cracked lips as a hoarse chuckle broke from his dry throat. His memories always made his spirits lighten slightly, although he knew he was in big trouble.
With his sparkling emerald eyes half shut from weariness, feeling himself drift into a slumber, a sound behind him made his senses jump up with fear. Something was growling. And it didn't sound friendly. Already up on his feet, his eyes darting to search for the source, he finally locked eyes with a large black beast, which looked alot like a giant black wolf, blue slobber dripping down from its maw and its bright yellow eyes looking at Kit with hunger as its large bushy tail swayed back and forth with anticipation of a hunt. This was not good.
Raising both his hands, calling forth the power of wind in an effort to spook the creature, Kit winced as his long sandy blonde hair whipped his face as the wind blew down from the heavens onto Kit and the creature. He was only 16, he didn't want to die, he had so much more he wanted to do. These thoughts echoed through his mind at that moment. Although the wind made the confused creature step back, because Kit was famished, his energy soon ran out and he collapsed onto his knees, gasping for breath and nearly crying out as his muscles burned. With the creature advancing towards him, he knew he had only one hope. Hopefully, if lady luck was on his side, there was someone at least nearby to hear his call. So, inhaling deeply, he then used all of his strength to send out a desperate call for help, which echoed for many moments through the silent nature filled area.
"HELP, ANYONE, PLEASE HELP!"

Creeping amongst the scant undergrowth and abundant rocks, Descus carefully made his way closer to the unsuspecting rabbit that was to be his dinner. His crossbow was held carefully in his hand, and he aimed it slowly, careful not to make any movements to startle the rabbit; it had taken him quite some time to find one that hadn't bolted the moment he saw it, and he didn't want to start over again. A hunter, he was not.
Not a hunter of game, anyways.
Just as he was about to take his shot, a heavy wind blasted passed, followed by a loud scream for help, which startled the rabbit into bolting, ducking into some underground burrow and safe from Descus' crossbow.
He muttered a lengthy curse, propping the crossbow on his shoulder and running a hand through short, untidy black hair, streaked with some grey at the temples, one of the very few markers of his more advanced age. Not that he was old. 40 wasn't old. It was just not young. Unlike the voice he had heard, which had sounded very young, and rather frightened.
With a long sigh, Descus took up a fast trot in the direction of the call for assistance, and eventually came across a young man being harried by a rather desperate looking black wolf.
"Huh. Wolves normally don't like humans... game must be scarcer than I thought. Which means I'm not quite as terrible of a hunter as I first thought," he said to himself, before aiming his crossbow at the terrible beast, which was quite intent on its terrified victim and hadn't notice his approach. "Say hello to Devoré for me," he muttered, naming the animal god of his particular religion.
He pulled the trigger, and the bolt was loosed and sent straight into and through the skull of the beast, which crashed to the ground with a final groan in front of the rather terrified youth it had been harassing. Descus was rather satisfied with his shot; he had never been terribly good with a crossbow, preferring throwing knives or even a bow and arrow to the cumbersome thing, so managing to hit the wolf from the distance he was at was somewhat impressive.
Although he could name at least a dozen mercenaries who were far, far better shots than he.
He quickly made his way down to the young man, going somewhat out of sight in a small copse of trees, before appearing again just in front of him, sword in hand- just in case.
What he did next was, admittedly, a little mean, but this idiot had cost him a meal, and he didn't seem terribly bright, so perhaps he would learn something from it all.
Before the youth was able to get up properly, he put a boot to his chest and shoved him to the ground, putting pressure down so that he wasn't able to get up. He stuck his sword in the ground beside his head, leaning on it as he peered down at the young man with unemotional blue eyes. "You're really something, you know that?" He said easily. "Out here, in the middle of nowhere, with no real weapon in sight. Never mind the wild animals- they usually ignore humans anyways- but have you never heard of bandits? Or mercenaries, assassins, or a mixture of the two..." Such as himself. "Honestly. Young folk these days." He paused. "Alright, I sounded incredibly old there. Moving along..."
He pulled his sword out of the ground, sheathed it, and stepped off the youth, offering a hand to help him up. "I'll stop tormenting you for now, as you appear to be in need of food and water, and perhaps a good deal of rest as well. I will provide them to you, on the condition that you listen to what I tell you, hmm? How does that sound?"

He wasn't sure how, or why, but in the quick moment in which he saw the wolf bending down, ready to pounce, it seemed as if Kit's life suddenly flashed before his eyes. He saw himself as a boy, surrounded by love from his parents, then the screams. The horrible screams. Then his parents, on the floor, dead. Their faces twisted up in pain, and the blood dry on the floor from the holes which were punctured by knives of the village north from here. How he cried, and felt lost. The overwhelming sadness, and how he wanted to die. Then, meeting master. How he was so kind. So kind. Learning the skills of the trade, then becoming a traveler. The laughs of the children whom watched him with joy, their eyes sparkling. So happy. Then, their parents beside them, also laughing. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair.
Then, bang, the flashback ended. And there the wolf was, dead, with a arrow straight through his skull. Someone helped? Completely dazed, and feeling a deep sorrow which he had buried long ago crawling back up from the flashback, Kit suddenly took a deep breath and looked around, searching for the person whom had saved his life. It was then he saw the stranger, with a sword in his hand. Perhaps it would have been better if he died at the teeth of the wolf, as Kit had always feared swords. He had to get away, before this man did something worse to him.
However, just before he could stand up, he felt the heavy weight of a foot slam down on his chest, forcing him the lay helplessly on the ground, the breath knocked out of him. The sword. It was right beside his head. For the first time in his life, he had never been more afraid of something. Even the wolf couldn't compare to this. A sword. The same thing which had killed his parents. Staring at the sword with his emerald orbs, sweat dripping down his face, he heard the slight hum of something talking. Was the man talking to him? Why? Why didn't he just kill him already and not tell him some speech of why he was killing him? Trying to focus his attention on what the man said, but unable to with a sword that close to him, he heard random words. "......really something.........no real weapon........bandits.......young folk....." What strange words he thought to himself, feeling in a real daze. Perhaps it was just the lack of food and water, or perhaps the experience of nearly being dead, or maybe just the mixture of the two. But then, as if a weight had been lifted off his chest, he could suddenly breathe easily again. The man wasn't going to kill him?
Staring up at the stranger, confused and bewildered as to what had just happened, he looked at the outstretched hand. He was helping him? Why? Didn't he want to kill him or something? Finally focusing his attention on the next sentence which the man had said, his eyes widened. Food, water, and a place to sleep? All of that, and all he had to do was listen? Staring up through his long sandy blonde fringe, his eyes narrowed down with confusion, he asked, his voice quite shaky after everything that just happened.
"Why are you helping me?"
He was a traveler after all. A loner. He had never been helped before, besides his master, so it was obvious he would be wary of anyone who offered assistance. There had to be some trick to it.

"Why am I helping you?" Descus mimicked, pausing to scratch at his beard. "There's the question of the age, isn't it? Why am I helping you? Perhaps I like to help random strangers. Anora often said I was too soft-hearted, like she was one to talk. Or perhaps I feel like my karma meter is just slightly out of kilter." Understatement of the century. "You really shouldn't look a gift assassin in the mouth though, so up you go and I'll find something to eat." He eyed the wolf. "I wonder if wolves taste any good? Hmm..." He didn't appear to have noticed his 'slip' of his profession, if it was even a slip at all. A subtle warning, or evidence of an old mind going soft? Who could tell with this strange, strange man...
"I don't really think I feel like experimenting, so I'll just feed you some dried fruits and some vegetables I picked up earlier until I'm able to find something with more substance to it to eat." Did he ever stop talking? Apparently not, because he kept going. "Looking at you, you could probably use some more substance in your diet. How do you ever expect to impress women with that scrawny frame?"
He glanced back at the young man. "Oh, by-the-by, my name is Descus. Descus D'Neherré. It's possible you may have heard of me, somewhere. All lies, I tell you. Except for most of it." Contradictary. "And since I've told you my name," he continued, leaning against a tree, "you may now tell me yours."
At last, a chance to speak!

Never having heard someone speak that much, Kit was astounded as to how Descus could keep talking for so long without taking a breath. It just droned on and on. Trying his best to pay attention, being known for suddenly daydreaming, as he mentioned cooking the wolf for food his stomach dropped a bit. A creature they had just killed, they were going to eat it? He hoped he would change his mind on that, luckily he did.
"O-Ok." Knowing he wouldn't have heard him, Kit felt the need to reply as he suggested dried fruit and vegetables. Any food would do him know, probably in a few hours he would have been able to eat that wolf raw with no complaints. The thought of actual food made his stomach let out a load and long groan.
"How do you ever expect to impress women with that scrawny frame?" That sentence made a furious crimson blush fly across his pale cheeks. Because he was quite embarrassed at that, he began to wrap his fingers around his long fringe, putting his gaze on the ground. Although he had women interested in him before, he was always traveling, so he really had no time to settle down and ever think of marriage, or anything of the sort. Besides, he never had proper money to get anything that would fill him out, he had to eat usually cheap food, not that he ever complained as he was truly grateful for eating at all. But still, raising his head and staring with his green eyes, he noticed how much more manly Descus looked, compared to his slim figure.
Listening to him introduce himself, the blonde raised an eyebrow. Descus D'Neherré, the name rang a bell in his mind, but he couldn't pinpoint as to where he heard it, if he ever heard the name at all. Getting off the ground, brushing down the dirt from his torn trousers, Kit introduced himself, slightly afraid that the man would put down his name as it sounded strange, or something of the sort. So, as he said his name, he mentally prepared himself for any criticizing Descus did.
"Ah...well um...my name's Kit. Just Kit."

Descus chuckled lightly at Kit's clear embarrassment. The young always seemed to embarrass easily, if you knew the right buttons to push.
"Kit, hmm? No family name, then? No parents, or just a culture that doesn't have such?" he asked, pushing off from the tree he had been leaning on. "We can talk while walking, come with me." He gestured after himself, and set off towards his camp, some distance up the mountain. "You can tell me aaaalll about yourself and how you managed to get yourself stranded up here with naught to eat."
Descus, being as large a man as he was, had a rather long stride, so he had to keep his pace in check lest he lose Kit altogether. He would still have to work a bit to keep up, however.
As Kit spoke, he listened, but he appeared to be keeping an eye and ear open to his surroundings, as if he expected trouble at any moment. Which would be true- he wasn't up here just for fun, he had his own job to do, and the person he was after was dangerous. It wasn't safe for Kit, being with him, but he was rather certain the boy would get himself killed if left by himself that much longer by himself.fffft terrible post is terrible I'm sorrryyy /diedie -

"Ah.." The mention of his parents caused him to wince. He tried to block the memory of his parents, too much pain. Too much blood. Replying swiftly in order to prevent any suspicious notions he might get from his hesitation, he said.
"No, I have no parents, died a while ago." Saying it as emotionless as he could, he winced once more at the fact that he wanted Kit to explain himself fully. Just the thought of it, he knew that Descus would probably comment on a lot of things he did, probably naming them all out. He didn't even know the man for very long, but he felt as if he would do something like that.
Surprised by the sudden movement, and also the quick stride which Descus had, Kit had a bit of trouble keeping up. Usually he wouldn't, but considering he had no energy left at all, it proved a struggle, and soon sweat was beginning to drip down his dirty face. But, even if he was tired, he could still speak without pausing to take a breath.
"Well, um, I'm Kit, like I already said. I'm a traveler, I use my skills to my use and I kinda earn a living out of it. I have no home or family, so that's why I'm all alone out here, and well I have nothing to eat because the last village I was out was a long was west from here, and so its been a few weeks since I've had any chance to grab food." Raising a hand, fiddling with his fringe once more, he gazed towards Descus. He seemed to know what he was doing, and Kit felt somewhat safe with him. Although he wondered what he was doing up way up here in the mountains alone also. But, in order to avoid any fight which he may bring up if Kit asked, he decided to remain silent on the matter. Descus would probably kill him if he fought Kit, as right now he could hardly walk properly , so fighting would be impossible. Right now, he just wanted to rest. The thought of being able to get food was the only thing that was keeping him going.

"Ah, you have my condolences, whatever that may be worth." Very little, he imagined. "My own parents died shortly after I joined the army... their only surviving child, off to get himself killed in the grind of war. It was too much for them" He smiled wryly. If only they had known that he was nigh on immortal. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't seem to die.
"Moving along from such an unpleasant topic," he said easily, "Have you never attempted to learn how to forage from the land? If I were not so eager for the warmth of a fire to dispel the cold from my quickly aging bones, I'd point out anything that could possibly be edible in this forest. For now, however, you'll have to be content with what's in my camp."
And hopefully not have an ambush dropped on them by the man he was hunting. As far as Descus knew, he did not know that he was here, but that could have changed at any time between loosing his crossbow at the wolf and now.
"Which shouldn't be too far ahead now," he said easily, "Mind that you don't touch anything, however. I'm a cautious man, and much that I carry on my person is trapped, mostly by horribly, painfully fatal poison." The cheer in which he departed this information was highly disturbing. "I've almost caught myself a few times. That would have been incredibly embarrassing to have explained to those waiting for me in the afterlife." And how blessed would the release of his soul have been, instead of constantly living in the dull drudgery of a life that should have long since died.

"Ah, well um, thank you." Always awkward when people gave any sort of kindness to him considering his parents, mostly because he didn't need it, as he felt anger more then sorrow. It was a touchy complex subject, so it was obvious from his face he was relieved to cast that hard subject away and move onto another.
"Forage from the land. . . .?" Scrunching his eyebrows together, he said slowly. "Well, I have learned what berries to eat and what berries will kill you, but that only applied to the forests near my village. So no, not really, mostly because I don't know anyone to show me how to forage really."
With a soft pathetic laugh, Kit agreed to the appealing thought of a warm fire, the sparks flying out from his fingertips already, wanting to eat away at some wood and cast its flames high. But, until he ate and drank something, there would be no point in trying to cast any magic, as it was nigh impossible in his state.
"Ah, thank you, right now I could eat anything really." His stomach growled in agreement, making him wrap his scrawny arms over his stomach, as if to compress the rather loud groans in which it was making. This of course made a light flush of embarrassment to appear on his cheeks. To Descus, he probably didn't look like a man at all.
"A-Ah. . .ok then, I don't think I'll touch anything." Not wanting to die so soon, even though he almost did a few minutes ago, Kit made sure to remember that caution. The last thing he wanted to do now was to die of a poison, a death that would hardly be pleasant. Plus he didn't want to face his parents in the after life just yet, he was still confused about his feelings towards them, and he wanted to become more of a son in which they could be proud of.
With a weary sigh, feeling his feet slowly go limb, he tried to take his mind away from how dreadfully tired he was by turning his emerald orbs towards the sky, which was in blue blotches, as where they were at the moment, the leaves from the trees were covering the sky.

"Good boy," Descus said cheerily, "We're almost there now, just over this last ridge here- it's a bit steep, so mind that you don't fall, it would probably hurt a bit..." Understatment, there were sharp rocks littered everywhere. "And... here we are, my humble little camp." Said camp wasn't much more than a firepit dug into the hard earth, a pack, and a spare cloak spread on the ground that served as a slightly less dirty resting place. "Not exactly the seat of luxury, but I'm not really in need of much. You can sit on that log there, while I get a fire started..."
He deftly pulled some flint and tinder from a pocket, and proceeded to rather quickly get a decent fire going in the pit. "A pity that I don't have a horse or a mule, or I could carry far more supplies. Like a pot. A pot for stew would be excellent... ah, well. That is what happens when one forgoes the usual inns and travelled paths for gods-forsaken mountains..." He shook his head. "Ah, well."
Descus pulled his pack over to him, quickly dismantling the trap set in the clasp, and pulled out a bag that contained a few dried vegetables and fruits, and half a pound of jerky, much to his surprise. "I thought I had eaten the last of that," he murmered to himself. "Well, I am getting old, so my mind is probably starting to go." A depressing thought.
He quickly divided the food between himself and Kit , and leaned against a tree while thoughtfulling chewing a bit of jerky, watching the young man he had saddled himself with. After allowing the boy a moment to eat, he asked, "So, truthfully, why are you out here, so far up a mountain? There are far better places for youth struck with wanderlust, and while not completely safe, far safer than here." Especially since there was a dangerous murderer on the loose somewhere that he really should be trying to find right now. "You need to be honest with me, boy. I don't really like to be lied to."

Good boy
That single sentence made Kit feel like a young child all over again, which caused a pout to form on his lips, mumbling nonsense as he focused on the ground, trying not to trip over. Of course, knowing that the ridge was steep thanks to Descus, he had to pay even more attention, as the last thing he needed was to appear even more frail and weak. But, eventually he reached the end unharmed.
Hesitating for a moment, Kit listened to the protest of his aching feet and perched himself on the log, watching with curiosity as he lit the fire. So, that was what people did in order to create a fire? Since it took him a second to light a roaring fire, he was unaware that there were other methods in order to light a fire.
"Thank you. . ." Saying this sincerily, he almost jumped at the jerky which was handed to him. As his stomach rumbled happily as Kit stuffed down the food, in a matter of seconds the jerky was decovoured and he sighed happily as the food began to put some energy into his tired body. Feeling that he was being watched by Descus, he felt slightly uncomfterable, and as the question was asked, he scratched his messy sandy blonde hair as he emitted a sigh, not really sure how to answer.
Leaning forward and spreading out his hands to get warmth from the fire which was beginning to blaze, Kit began to slowly explain, although he knew that it wouldn't be very believable.
"Well, I'm a traveler so I usually am in secluded places like this. However, in a town a good few miles from here, well I caused a bit of 'disturbance', and so I hid in this forest and I've been making my way through here ever since. Of course usually I'm quite independent and can hunt rather well, but well, this forest doesn't seem to inhabit easy meals, and since I exited the town rather quickly, I wasn't able to grab any good supplies to last me the journey. So I was taken off guard, and you can see what happened then. Near death experience." With a bitter laugh, he rubbed his forehead, as if to remind himself that he really did nearly die an hour ago, it was odd to think of it.
Feeling a sudden cold set in his body, Kit whispered to the fire, and soon the flames were almost touching his fingertips. Gazing into its beautiful flames, he turned his gaze towards the man, and with a curious tone and arched eyebrow, he asked. "What's your reason?"
Realizing after he said it what the reaction could be with the guy, he winced and lowered his head slightly, the long bangs hiding his face like a curtain.

Descus noticed the fire increase, at about the same time Kit whispered something he did not catch. Eyes narrowing, he filed that thought away in the back of his mind; he didn't trust mages, or any sort of magic for that matter. It may have been merely coincidence, the fire getting to a good bit of wood, but he doubted it. Kit had also mentioned a "disturbance" that he had caused... with magic, perhaps?
At Kit's question, an eyebrow went up, and he chuckled lightly. "That is a very good question... although it would have been better to ask it earlier, before you came to my camp," he said dryly. "But it's a fair question."
Descus leaned forward, resting his chin on his hands. "The reason I am here is because of my job. Mercenary, to be technical, although I do far more assassination work now. Dangerous stuff, high risk of death, things like that." Not that he ever managed to die like he wanted to. "While you may not have heard of my name, you may have heard of my nickname- Black Bird. Apparently it has to do with how I kill people, and my penchant for dressing in black. I wouldn't know, I don't use the nickname." He sat up again. "Currently I've been contracted to find a rather dangerous man, murder being his choice in crime. I've tracked him into these mountains, but I haven't been able to pick up the trail again. It's rather frustrating, to be honest..."
Descus waited for Kit's response.

[Happy New Year and Late Christmas (:]
"W-Well I wasn't thinking straight. . .that thing kind of gave me the shivers." True, he should have asked who the man was and what he was doing here. For all Kit knew, he could have been a murderer and could have killed Kit easily, being so weak that he wouldn't be able to fight back, only to give in to the eternal sleep that came with death. But, Kit was glad that no roar followed what Descus said, which caused a sigh of relief to break from his mouth.
Although, he soon caught his breath again. A mercenary/assassin. Having grown a very strong dislike for any sort of mercenary, seeing his fair share of innocent killings made by them. Then, a thought came into his head that made the cold return to his body. Surely he wouldn't think that Kit was the murderer in question. Kit would never murder, but again to someone else who didn't know him, he could be an option for a murderer. Hopefully this man would have some sense not to blame him, as for one Kit wasn't sure for how long his legs would carry him if he were to run. And he also got a feeling that Descus would easily catch him. But, in order to take his mind off that dangerous thought, he moved onto the nickname.
"Black bird. . .I've heard that name while passing villages. You cause a lot of fear for people." Although he regretted what he just said, he assumed that he must know that being who he was, he would cause fear for many people. Kit remembered overhearing a couple of men in the street talking about a man going by the name 'black bird' being seen just outside the perimeters of the village, and some sense of alarm was in their voices. Kit really didn't get why, but now he got why. Everyone in any village knew to being alarmed whenever a mercenary was near their village.
Rubbing the back of his neck, feeling a creak growing probably from the awkward fall he gave when he met the strange animal which almost killed him, Kit remembered faintly getting the presence of someone who was to be avoided, hence why he hid behind the shadows of the trees. Feeling it nessecary to say something, he spoke up while staring once more into the flames which were twisting and turning as he twitched his fingers.
"I got the presence of someone in this forest a couple of days ago. It could have been anyone, but the person did have a very. . .dark aura. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling fit to fight anyone so I hid and so couldn't get any look at him. I think it was. . ." Pausing for a moment to recollect his memories, he then raised his hand, the flames twisting towards the direction he was pointing. Pointing towards the right, he said with narrowed eyes as he tried to remember their path towards here, to see if it would affect his assumption. But, giving up on trying to remember the direction, he continued to say.
"It was back towards east of where you found me. It was a few days ago, but I'd say by now that that man would probably be over towards the North now, as every other direction to where I sensed him led to either a cliff or rapids. But hey, it probably wasn't your guy."
Putting down his hand, he gave a soft sigh, weary from the day's adventures.

Descus chuckled at the boy's obvious unease. "Do not worry, Kit, I know exactly who I'm looking for, and what he looks like. I've caught him a few times, a few years back." He leaned back, staring up at the darkening sky. "He has certainly changed a lot in the recent years, he used to be more of a petty smuggler before, now he's, well, "evil", to most."
Descus stood, and stretched, putting things away in a neat pile, a carryover from his former military career. Everything had to be neat and tidy. With the exception of his hair, that he could never quite manage to make look nice.
"I'm not sure why I would cause fear in the ordinary people," he mused, casting a glance around the camp, checking to see if his quarry had come near. Fat chance. "Sure, I'm scarily good at what I do, and my missions tend to end rather bloodily, but unless you're a high-ranking merchant or someone import, or their bodyguards, you don't have much to worry about me. Hitmen, yes, famed assassin's, no. Not unless they're very down on their luck."
And he never was, as infuriating as that was.
He listened to Kit tell about his sensing of a dark aura. "Could possibly be my man, I have no other leads so I will have to check that out." His eyes narrowed, suspicious of this "sensing". That sounded an awful lot like magic to him. "Time for some truth, boy- are you a mage?"Oh god sorry for the taking forever alsfjslf /die -

"Ah, well that's good, for a second I thought I was screwed there." Giving a light chuckle, Kit couldn't help but let out a soft sigh of relief as he pushed back his sweaty bangs which were hanging over his face, causing quite a lot of discomfort as they stuck to his forehead.
"Well it's only human nature, people just want peaceful lives, don't want to be associated with anything unknown." He too knew himself how it was like that in some villages he had visited. They were so scared of unknown, that went they saw his performance, they screamed and kicked him out of the village, ready to kill if he took another step back into the small town. This was needless to say disheartening, and Kit wondered how it felt to be a mercenary, to be feared by pretty much every village on ever corner of the earth. He almost felt guilty for still having a small amount of fear in him as he was in the presence of what he usually associated with a heartless killer. Perhaps this was not the case.
"Eh?" Glancing towards Descus, he flinched slightly under his narrowed gaze. That was not the most friendly gaze in the world, and it made him incredibly nervous, which made him hesitate before he answered. Not that he was not about to give a truthful answer, but more because his heart was racing due to the mercenary's gaze being on him. So, with a stuttered answer, Kit replied.
"I-I'm not a mage. I only control the elements...I suppose some people would call that a mage. But I don't really know any magic, only when I move my fingers and whisper some words, elements usually follow me."
