Rosehill Sentinel (OPEN)

Mason Karro stood on the flat rooftop of his dreary house outside the town of Rosehill. It was a quiet enough town, nestled in a valley with forest on either side. Mason's home was just up the mountains to the west of Rosehill, and as he stood looking down on the town, his breath became visible before him. The temperature was slowly dropping as night approached, and the bright sliver moon shone brightly in the dark blue sky. It was almost time for him to patrol Rosehill. Mason felt a small prickling feeling on the back of his neck, and as he looked up into the night sky he noticed the snowfall. He watched this beautiful spectacle and marveled in silence. After a few minutes, the clock in his house loudly struck the midnight hour, and with a sound of great wind, Shade was flying off towards town.

[Yua]

Yua wandered nearby. Shivering some, the snow was slowing her down and ice was forming soon to become a cacoon and seal her doom. (Sorry its short)

(It's okay. I try to be long but sometimes I just don't know what else to say.)
Shade flew slowly over the forest near town. He was almost a mile away from Rosehill, watching the ground for something, anything. As he flew over Yua, he noticed that she had stopped moving, and swooped down, landing beside her with the sound of crinching earth beneath his feet. He held her close to him to warm her. "Are you okay, starnger?"

[Yua]

(Im in class ) she immediately bristled her feathers. Though settled snow weighed them down. She hissed but was to weak to put up any form of fight. Though she was ready to if need be.

Shade breathed hot air from his nostrils, not quite fire. The snow melted off of Yua and he let go of her. He raised an eyebrow and gave her an odd look. Did she just hiss at him?

[Yua]

(Im out ) she shivered to the warm air, binking abit than rattled her tail hissing threateningly at him once again. She didn't wish to be bothered or become a snack.

Hmph... Shade snarled and walked slowly down the trail behind Yua. If someone was going to be that way he wanted to be nowhere near them. Right now he was supposed to be in town, but he decided to take the scenic route.

[Yua]

She shuddered to a gust of the cold air. She stood there a moment feathers fluffed and trying to keep some heat in her body. Soon she just staggered over to a tree climbing up quickly. Curling in a tight ball to keep warm.

Shade stopped walking and turned his head to look over his shoulder. He saw her curled up in the tree and sighed. He should help her anyways. He flew up and held her close to him, flying off and landing closer to town. He set her down on the ground and melted the snow which evaporated around her. He chopped down some trees with his bare hands and dug some holes in the ground. After a while he had a crude shelter and a fire, which she was now laying next to. Now she wouldn't be cold and he could go on night patrol.

[Yua]

She yelped flailing her arms when picked up. Feathers didn't mean she liked flying (). Though it atleast ment she licked heights. Though was pretty shaken still, or just cold. But she eyed him a moment, seeing as how he helped heer earlier she wasn't going to cause harm. Atleast till her feet were on the ground from there she swiped out with sharp claws.

Shade then took off and flew fast towards Rosehill. He glided lazily around under the strong moonlight.

After hours of an uneventful night, he decided to circle back. As he was flying over the forest again, he remembered Yua and sped off over the trees towards the fire, where he landed with a crunching noise and whipped around to see if she was there. He couldn't see her.

[Yua]

She was curled up in the odd shelter. Tail bristled and fanned out, laid over her body, keeping her nice and warm. She was tuckered out, and finally had a warm place to rest. She looked less hostile and more cute. Much like a sleeping bear.

Shade squinted into the shelter and finally saw something. As he entered, he recognized her form and snuck basck out, trying not to disturb her. He spread his wings and flew back home, where he landed and entered through the ladder on the rooftop.

Mason sat feeling contented and warm in front of the large fireplace. I should be getting to bed, he thought.

[Yua]

It took a few hous. But she woke up, it soon, way before morning. She squeaked than stepped out to the fire, fanning her tail to cause it to flare to full life. dim dots on her body giving off soft glows. She closed her eyes singing some, an exotic bird song, ancient but modern too, somewhat futuristic, different noises all in one.

Even though it was many, it came out as one song. A decent, calming noise. The wind itself singing in harmony almost.

Mason stirred. He sat up and looked around. He had fallen asleep reading again. He could tell it was still very early in the morning, and the sun hadn't even started to rise. His fire had gone out as well. As he rubbed his eyes and yawned, his ear heard a faint noise. He froze for a second, but it dropped and he could no longer hear it. He climbed the ladder to his house, barely hearing it once more.

As Shade flew over the forest, he thought that this place looked familiar. The snow covered trees were all the same, but there was a clearing with a fire blazing. He flew down and landed beside it, seeing Yua again.
