Coatless, Finn held the striking impression of a land bound corsair; dressed with at least a dozen belts over dogged cotton, and hair like a man who was often present to the ocean's mercy. Over time, his body had shrunk back from the figure his clothes required, leaving them warped and loose, while the skin around his neck and wrists were plainly visible. Finn thought for a moment at the possible offence his gesture had caused. Here was a child with the qualities of a deity, and the spirit of an emigrant lass. “Take it.” he whispered, the garment in hand. “Better to dress a wisp than a shade.” In that same second, he could easily have asked her what she was, but it seemed both idle and ungracious. Seamus felt it best to fill the silence with answers. Wistfully he glanced over the blaze, replying “Naturally, by a careless eye, it could do a great deal of harm. Notwithstanding evil is the only plague toward destruction. But all wielded by man is a tool, ma'am. If my use of this smoke and ash is only to warm my bones, then it shall be so. At home, we trap such things in iron and furnace. By rights, it will save you a singed thumb, yet it carries the price of a sharp watch indeed. You will find humanity is only unafraid of the spark struck from his own flint.”

Gadrai, used to using the ground of the forest as a bed, simply laid down. He knew the ground was going to be cold, but didn't seem to care anymore. The conversation that was still going on wasn't something he was going to be able to jump into, and at that moment, Bel's attention was on Finn, not Gadrai. As more and more time passed, Gadrai came to be more and more hopeless, his thought before his resignation to sleep moderately morbid. Dark embrace... ...be you of a cold night, or of death... ...I care no longer...
(( Yaaayyyy, I'm out of the thread for a while... ))

With a nod, she stretched out her arms and grabbed the coat. Staring at it for some time before she threw it over her shoulder, she was surprised at the warmth it carried, probably from the fact it was still warm off his back. Shrinking into the coat, which was quite big on her so it was possible to do this until only her head and legs stuck out. She smiled as she murmured a thank you, not sure how to reply except with a thanks.
Listening to his story, she was again struck at how humans could nearly take control of so many things. They were growing more advanced with every decade that passed, but of course she never saw these 'advances', since she had never taken a step outside the forest, and so instead let her mind conjure up images from the words he spoke. So because of this fascination of human technology, she had forgotten about Gadrai for the moment and instead was focused more on learning more and more about humans. So, she asked yet another question as her hand poked out of the coat to point towards his clothes.
"Do all you humans...do you dress with such....complicated looking things?" What she referred to of course was the several belts, which she thought of as 'complicated', since she usually wore a simple dress or something along those lines.

The question threw him, but sparked in Finn some deep sense of vanity; one that he had not looked on for many long, laborious months. His attire, though scuffed and worn from an unending road, bore a detail in them which reminisced of nobleman's apparel. Though all who knew of such articles would realise these things were put together for a market parade at best, it was obvious that this was not a world which Seamus knew. Plainly, the belts were of a different quality. Each was more mismatching than the other, and all held themselves around his torso just enough to shape his squandering figure, with room to spare. Like his coat, they were undecorated. Fit for purpose. But as a framework they held his scant form together, and kept him whole.
“Not all, my dear, no” he smiled. “Regrettably, my costume has tarried from another age. I am rather a cocoon, you see. The belts keep what disfigurement my clothing has endured to a minimum...until such a day comes that can I provide myself with better.”

"Hmm, I see." The closer she looked at his clothing, she began to see what he meant. The belts did cover over most of his clothing, and although she imagined how tough it would be for him to take anything off, she saw their purpose. Of course she would never go to so much trouble, but again she never had the need to take such drastic measures in order to preserve her clothing.
After a few moments of silence, she cast her gaze back in his direction after looking at the flames and said.
"If you search for better clothing, I could give you a spare one of my dresses. They are rather resilient and warm." Not knowing that different genders required different clothing, she said this with no underlying joke. She did genuinely want to help him.
