Gadrai shook his head slightly. "My talent... ...is my archery. My accuracy with a bow is unmatched. I just..." He sighed, and leaned against Bel, trying to avoid crying. "...I just don't want to recall the accident... ...where I bounced an arrow off of two trees... ...and... ...and... ...I heard the arrow go through my sister's head..."
His efforts were no use, tears beginning to well up in his eyes. He still took the incident horribly. Ever since that day, forty-seven years ago, Gadrai refused to bank any arrows off of trees. His aim had been remarkable; if it hadn't been for misjudging the weight of his arrow, the arrow would've been less than an inch away. As was, during the incident, the arrow went though the apple, and bounced the second time for the headshot.
Gadrai was still trying not to cry, despite failure. He didn't want to show emotional weakness, and at this point, that's what exactly had been eating at him for years and years on end. He needed acceptance, and Bel happened to be providing it, where nobody else could because of the language difference. Old Elven wasn't an easy language.

While hearing his story, all Bel could do was remain silent. It was not as if she could have said anything, nothing she could say which would make the sadness disappear. She knew this already. Not as if she had much experience, as she never had human contact much, but she just knew. All she knew that she could really do was listen. Listen and comfort.
Seeing the pain which was on his face as he told his story, she couldn't help but feel his pain. The tears which lingered in the back of his eyes, how long had he tortured himself over this? Raising her hand from before, she placed in gently on his shoulder, bringing him just a little closer. Leaning her head against him, making sure to keep her branches away from poking at his head, she merely murmured.
"I'm sorry." Why she apologized, she wasn't sure. It was just a reflex. Perhaps she did feel sorry, sorry for what he had gone through, sorry for the pain he was feeling, sorry for the fact that she couldn't somehow take all the pain away. She was petty, feeling sorry for almost everything, wanting to take all the pain which they felt away. It was odd to feel this for something that wasn't an animal, which hadn't happened for a good few years.

Gadrai was still trying to keep tears to himself, but one managed to run from his right eye, finally beginning to drop. The other eye followed suit not too long after that; his willingness to hold up the mask completely dissolving. He held onto Bel, finding a peculiar comfort - but a great one. After so long, the feeling of acceptance was uplifting. The fact he wasn't being judged was much better relief, too. "Thank you..."

Although she was not looking at him, she could still feel his tears as they rolled down his cheeks. This was mostly because she was leaning against him and so the wet tears dampened her cheek. Not that she minded. To hear his thanks made her smile, to know that she was helping. Giving a small laugh, she shook her head slightly as she closed her eyes slowly.
"No need to thank me." After saying this, she began to sing a soft tune under her breath. It was sweet, like a lullaby, and it coaxed a few animals to come forth to listen to her, one of which was a fox, which curled up beside her and fell asleep.

(( Go get Pidgin - much more stable IM-ing client. ))
Gadrai sighed at hearing the lullaby, smiling at the music. He conflicted with the thought of 'needing' to thank Bel. "No, Bel. I do need to thank you. You have been the only one to accept me for over forty years. Resume your lullaby; the Wood evidently adores your gifted voice, as it rightfully should; it is elegant, even to an Elf." He was accurate; elves treated music very greatly, and most were decent composers; some were excellent enough to make music out of a still bog. Imagine the thought of being put above Elves!

[[ Downloading now, boss ;D Ahahaaha...ohgodthatwassolame OTL ]]
Hearing his compliment, although it took a while to understand since she was still rusty when it came to some terms in the old elvish language, she gave a smile as she continued to sing her soft lullaby, until it came to a gentle close, to which she gave a long soft sigh of content afterwards. Opening her eyes once more, she looked at Gadrai, her wide green orbs still somewhat worried if he was still feeling pain.
"How do you feel now, Gadrai?"

Gadrai took a moment, finding the words carefully. However, after a bit, he found that mincing words wasn't going to be very useful. "Better, though I don't feel like leaving your side, Bel..." He didn't know it, but he was completely sucker-punched into love. Considering the circumstance, it was completely understandable, though perhaps slightly extreme. But, then again, perhaps the extremity would prove to be the part that holds the duo together; only time and the two can be the judges of that.

[[ Duuuuude. You have no idea how much I just aww'd at Gadrai there. OTL Ah I seeeeeee, so I add you then under that buddies thing yes? ]]
Giving a smile at his reply, not actually understanding the proper hidden meaning behind it, she said with a laugh.
"Well you don't have to leave then, I enjoy the company. It's been a few years since I've talked to someone." Because she was so isolated when it came to any contact with anything that wasn't an animal, she didn't understand any hidden meaning behind words. Closing her eyes again, she let out another soft sigh, relieved that he no longer felt as much pain as before.

Gadrai smiled, and kept himself from chuckling at Bel misunderstanding him once again. However, he had a daring idea, and felt daring enough to put the idea to motion. He turned his head a bit, and pressed his lips on Bel's left cheek, gentle, and tender with a kiss. He smiled as he broke the kiss, two seconds later, and his cheeks flushed a slight tinge of rose. He knew a kiss was great in meaning, but forgot just how much meaning there was.

As her mind began to wander off, as it usually did, she was surprised to feel something on her cheek. It was an odd feeling, one she had never experienced before. Opening her eyes slowly, she found that Gadrai was now pressing his lips to her cheek. Ah, so that was what it was. She had heard of kisses before, but she had never experienced one before, being so isolated, so she was unsure as to how to act. All she did was to put her fingertips on where he had kissed, and she found herself to be blushing rather deeply, although she was puzzled as to why. Looking towards the elf, she thingyed her head to the side, her voice rather confused as it stuttered over the words.
"W-What was t-that for?"

Gadrai smiled, now remembering the term. "To clarify what I meant by not leaving your side. Bel, to be brief, I think I have managed... ...to fall in love... ...with you..." The thought of it was making him uneasy, but at the same time, it excited him. He was eager to stay with Bel until they met their ends, but at the same time, he felt hopelessly lost within love's grip, and slightly uneased by how sudden and quick it was. He also felt exposed to Bel, completely at her mercy.

"Huh?"
Love? In the 200 years she had been living, this was the first time she had come across love, even though she had heard many talks of it, especially in the songs she sang. Needless to say, she had no idea how to react, yet again. Although her blush did grow a deeper shade, making her cheeks stand out quite a bit. Staring down at the ground for a few moments, trying to figure out what to say, she eventually brought up her gaze to meet his once more, although she found herself to be blushing even more when she did so. This was a first. She felt so....shy. Again as she spoke, she stuttered.
"L-Love? W-Was that why you did t-that then?" She was of course referring to the kiss on the cheek a few seconds earlier, but she found she couldn't think of the term for 'kiss' in the elvish language, probably because she was quite flustered.
[[ So cute ;; u;; ]]

Gadrai nodded, truthfully. Truthful, both because he desired to be, and because he was bound under the Law of Fae to be truthful. There were other rules, which he'd dribble bread crumbs on now. He had tossed his last name away, previously, but now... ...he was considering bringing it back. "Yes, it is, Bel." He wasn't so afraid of being open, anymore. To Bel, he could reveal anything he wanted. He trusted her more than he even trusted himself. Then he remembered a vow that was made by Elves. He belted it out. "I, Gadrai Latos, surrender to you, my heart. In entirety, in unity, I wish my heart to be yours."
(( He's getting a little jumpy, but I think Bel would be chill with it. More 'Law of Fae' discussion via IMs. ))

To have him pretty much belt once more his love for her, well again it caused her already deep blush to darken once more and to rub her hands. This was her first time she had been faced with love that was directed at her. She felt happy, and she felt scared, in a sense. She didn't even know if she was allowed get into a relationship, since usually her main priorities were to be to the forest. Plus, she didn't even know if she was in love, since she didn't know what it felt like. Although many feelings were going through her system. But, she felt that she wanted to learn. She wanted to learn to love, as for once in her life, she didn't feel lonely. As this single thought went through her mind, it was almost as if every single negative emotion she felt in her life just rushed up. She felt sad, but she also felt happy.
"Gadrai..." After she said this, she brought her hands to her face and suddenly began to cry. Why she cried, she didn't know. She never cried, only when something horrible happened to an animal or something. And yet, here she was, with no hurt animal around, crying harder then she ever did in her life. It was odd, mostly because she couldn't stop the tears, but because she felt happy as she cried. These were happy tears, although with the sobs, it would be easy to mistaken them for ones of sadness.
[[ Wow, that came out longer then I thought ono; She's cool with it btw, she's just crying because she's happy and stuff. Weird, I know. xD ]]

Gadrai held Bel close, wanting to anchor her as she did with him, earlier. He didn't even need to understand, to comfort her. He then began to think in her shoes, and after a bit, he clearly understood. "I, too, tend to the Wood; I fend off unwelcome intruders whom intend to harm the creatures and tree-homes within. Perhaps with us together, this world will become far greater than we would have hoped to have done by ourselves. Bel, I vow to be by your side, separable only by either your will, or my grave.
(( It's not weird, bdb. ))
