He was looking into the horizon, looking east as the sun was rising further and further. His belt held a few vials - some were decent medications, others stange potions, and a couple were lethal poisons - all of which useful for a wide array of things. Len remained on a roof - wanting to remain out of the beaten roads. He saw an authority come nearby, and he had to back up a bit. He didn't want to be spotted now.
This resulted in him falling backwards, however - though by a stroke of luck, his fall was a full backflip. After the fall, he managed to land on his feet, the potions on his belt intact. He sighed of relief as he walked over to the town walls and leapts up a nice seven feet to stand on the walls. Nobody minded him standing on the walls, but they minded if he was on a rooftop - this was a strange thing to him, but gave the thoughts little regard.

Edward also watched the sunrise, though from the comfort of a feather bed, surrounded on both sides by three seductive beauties. He regarded them with an air of utter boredom. Though, he did take pleasure in spying the lacerations he left on the blonde's shoulder. He literally leaped to his feet, then hopped of the bed, despite the pleadings of his playmates. He snarled like a beast at them, causing them to shriek in fear. He dressed himself while glaring murderously at them, then left the chamber without so much as a 'farewell.'
He emerged back into the seedy underbelly of Tamasha, breathing in the fumes of smoke, bile, and sweat. Despite the dilapidation surrounding him, the brothel to his back glittered ostentatiously. He adjusted his tight-fitting tunic and moved on.
Life recently had not been easy. The simple pleasures simply did not satisfy him any longer. He continually found more and more dangerous activities to keep him thrilled.
"It's about time you scuttled back into the sunlight, thingyroach." a voice scowled from a dark corner.
"Morning to you, too, Cakoph." Edward replied, running a pale hand through his ebon-red hair.
"You know we have to get set up for the performance tonight? We don't have all day."
"You think I don't know that?" Edward growled, "I would never forget my own performance times."
"Except when a little Nightingale is flitting about."
"What?!" Edward rounded on Cakoph, his canines growing to a threatening length.
"That scared me the first dozen times, Edward." Cakoph said, nonplussed by Edward.
Edward, his thunder stolen, felt his fangs retract. He sighed wearily, and followed after Cakoph. His negative feelings were dispelled when he thought of the performance he was going to put on tonight. He would be reunited with Music, his one, true passion.

Nightingale. A rather effective sedative to some levels. However, he had something a bit more effective on sedating on that manner on his belt strap. He heard talk of it just below him, and he leaped back down, this time, landing with a thump, letting whomever was nearby hear it.
"Nightingale. A decent, yet common, sedative. Not many side effects, other than your drunken-ness. A rather fun one to abuse, at times..." And then he leaped up onto another rooftop nearby them, letting them walk a bit more, if they willed. "Sorry to ramble about chemistry, but that's what I do; I'm a chemist of sorts. Transmutations, chemical modifications, the cliché stuff, you name it."

The thump behind was all but obvious.
Edward spun tightly on the spot, his dirk out in an instant. "The hell...?" he snarled.
A man, he assumed, clothed in a heavy dark green robe, his hood obscuring any traces of a face.
He heard thee man ramble about some potion coincidentally named Nightingale, but did not listen. He fought back the urge to kill this man on the spot, if only for the sport.
As suddenly as he had appeared, the man perched himself on a nearby rooftop, a feat Edward had to admit impressed him.
With the obstruction out of the way, he slammed his dirk back into its scabbard, growling, "Not worth my time."
He strode to catch up with Cakoph, who was unaware of the strange green-robed chemist, thinking, I would die just to have a taste of the Nightingale.

He watched Edward turning away, and judging form the reaction speeds, this person wasn't a normal human. However, he knew this disambiguation too - This specific Nightingale was a little closer to forbidden, popular to the vampiric for sometimes sating their thirsts. That, sadly, he had none of, and little business to muck in. He sighed with defeat as he jumped down on the opposite side of the house, then back up to the town walls - seeing the morning sun still escaping the horizon. Then he heard another thing altogether.
An argument. A marrier couple arguing, in fact. They were having monetary issues and philandering talks. He heard them a few times, and thought of solving it a couple of times, but decided not to out of wanting to maintain peace. Now it had been around for too long. He grabbed a small bag of powder, and jumped over to the rooftop of the house, tossing the powder onto the rooftop and setting the roof ablaze. Once he did this, he jumped down, and soon blended in with the panicking crowd, able to escape the scene undetected. The married couple within the house heard the commotion, and came out to try to see what was going on - to see their roof on fire.
Finally, within that area, the authorities arrived, and tried to get as much information as they could - though unable to tell what exactly it was that caused the fire; all that was known was that it was fully intended. By the time they arrived, however, Len had already eloped from town with a backpack full of tools to make other medicines, drugs and poisons. His next destination was the forest. Selkia Forest, to be exact.

Even as the mob jostled him backward, Edward pressed vehemently forward, his scowl deepening. He growled as the commotion increased in volume, desperately trying to make sure he could hear his own voice.
He finally gave in to curiosity and looked behind him, in the direction the mob was heading. He saw a building up in flames, oily black smoke belching out of the windows and rooftop. He shrugged and returned to his original direction -- he'd seen more impressive.
He continued his way to the amphitheatre, hoping he would not get wrapped up in this mess, they secretly hoping he would.[[ Please disregard Omio's request. Someone else might want to join, despite Omio's departure from this thread. Thank you ]]

Adalyn sat in her bedroom reading a book trying to ignore her mother and her mother's new husband, Kur, who always seemed to start some type of argument.
See, after Adalyn's father was murdered a while back, Adalyn stayed with her mother to help her get through and live life day to day. The Adalyn's mother started seeing Kur and before you knew it they were married.
Adalyn turned the page to her wore out novel then she heard a loud thud on the roof over her head. Suddenly the air began to thicken around her and it started becoming very hot! Adalyn couldn't breath, she got up and started running toward her bedroom door to escape the house as soon as possible, since it was on fire.
"MOM!" Adalyn yelled but recieved no answer.
Then as Adalyn began trotting down the stairs as fast as she could a burning raft fell from the ceiling above and crashed at her feet. The fire grabbed at Adalyn with red burning fingers. Adalyn changed direction and ran to her mother's bedroom and tried unlocking the window but there was no use, it was jammed shut. Adalyn could see her mother arguing with Kur and then pointing her at Adalyn yelling something.
"Help!" Adalyn screamed as loud as she could manage while banging on the glass window. Adalyn kept screaming until the smoke just got trapped in her lungs and she felt as if she couldn't breath... then she fainted her death awaited her if someone didn't save her.

The fires grow, The embers glow. Face the flames nearby, Lest a nightingale die.
The image was gone the instant it appeared. A voice, singing over from the roar of ebon-red flames, permeated all of Edward's senses. A figure, clad in shimmering obsidian cloth, pointed at something behind Edward, then vanished in a flash of midnight. Following the figure's direction, Edward turned on the spot, viewing the house on fire again. In a window he saw, as if a ghost from his past haunted him, a slim figure beating desperately upon the glass. Just as the dark figure had stopped the flow of time, spying this figure caused time to stand still around Edward, as his heart fluttered.
Not knowing exactly what he was doing, Edward hurtled toward the second-floor window where the figure stood. He knew he was racing along the rooftops, black flames of moonlight streaming behind him, burning from his hands, mouth, and eyes. He knew, but he did not care. All that mattered now was saving his Nightingale. He smashed through the window, landing with catlike grace inside the house. Spying the woman lying in a heap upon the floor, he scooped her into his arms, cradling her as a lily, then leapt out of the window, landing upon a nearby rooftop.
He laid her down, gently, the flames licking her flesh, but doing no harm, other than raising fierce goosebumps from the chill they generated. The flames died away, and Edward crouched above her unconscious form. With tremulous and hesitant fingers, he softly brushed her cheek, pulling away quickly for fear of waking her. He touched her again, keeping his fingertips pressed lightly against her warm skin. They trailed down her face, then brushed her neck and the underside of her chin.
She stirred, and he panicked.
Like a bolt of ebon lightning, he streaked away, his black outfit standing out strongly against the otherwise blue sky. He longed to have stayed with her, to be there to comfort her when she woke.
But who could love a Devil?

Adalyn felt a cool soft touch on her nearly boiling skin she shivered and then tried speaking but the words were caught in her throat and it burned to even breath. Still Adalyn ushed threw the pain and took in a deep inhale of fresh air she coughed and slowly her blue eyes fluttered open. She pushed herself up her long hair falling in her face,
She heard the roaring of the fire and the falling of the house hit the ground. Adalyn turned around to see people throwing bucket loads of water onto the urning embers. "Kur?" she crackled as her voice wasn't graceful, but raspy. Adalyn looked around for Kur her 'step father' but her was down near Adalyn's mother. For a moment Adlayn thought that maybe Kur did something nice and saved her life... but no. He stood beside Mom yelling at her. Adalyn thought to herself. 'If I wasn't a lady I would punch him in the face!'
Adalyn pushed those thoughts away anad looked around for her rescuer. No one. 'Who could have saved me?' she thought to herself. 'Well at least I was saved.' Now curious, Adalyn got up to her feet almost losing balance.
Adalyn walked to the edge of the roof sat down and then climbed down a ladder that her neighbor was using to fix his roof. Adalyn walked over to her mother ... but her mother just patted Adalyn's shoulder and began walking in the other direction. Adalyn threw her mother a glare and Kur smirked at Adalyn. "Watch those looks toward your mother or I may have to wipe them clean off your pretty little face." Kur whispered in a 'know it all' way. Adalyn just crossed her arms and watched her mother's house turn to ash.

Dark maroon blood flowed down Edward's arm as he literally bit his words back, barely suppressing a vicious snarl.
Even though he had run off, he had not gone far, just into hiding. He would not abandon his Nightingale for the world. He kept a close eye on her, a whisper in the shadows. From the shade of a darkened alleyway, he watched the interaction between the young woman, and an older woman and man.
At this angle, he got a good look at her face. No, she was not his Nightingale, but the similarity was striking. Enough for him to willingly fool himself without too much imagination.
'Watch those looks toward your mother or I may have to wipe them clean off your pretty little face.'
At hearing this, something animal snapped inside Edward. It took everything he possessed to not fly into a livid, murderous rage. His heart broke and his blood boiled. Tendrils of black flame flared from his mouth as he respirated.
The urge to defend her grew to an agonizing level. That, coupled with the fact Cakoph would be outraged by another of Edward's sudden disappearances deprived Edward of his already lacking logic.
He strode boldly into the sunlight, his pallid, chalky skin taking on a sickly hue in the harsh light. His bone-white hair fairly glimmered, his black clothes became darker, and his eyes sparkled dangerously.
He strode boldly up to the man who had antagonized the woman who reminded him of his Nightingale. He gripped his shoulder and spun him around roughly. His face became feral, and he growled, "I don't think that was very gentlemanly of you, sir." he threw the man aside and drew his dirk in one fluid, graceful motion. He pointed its translucent blade at the man, his face set and harsh. "I'll teach you how to respect women just as soon as I kick your ass."

"I'll teach you how to respect women just as soon as I kick your ass."
Adalyn turned on her heel to see a pale man holding a blade toward Kur. Adalyn gasped, and quickly went to Kur's side. Even though Kur was an awful excuse for a step-father, Adalyn couldn't just let this man kill him... it would hurt her mother's feelings and Adalyn being a soft-hearted person couldn't withstand that again in one life-time.
"Stop, this non-sense!" Adalyn commanded standing up to the handsome pale man who held the blade. "There is no need to kill or harm this man in anyway... as of now anyways; please put your blade down sir." Adalyn asked hoping he would stop and listen.
"No, Adalyn if this pathetic excuse for a man can raise his blade to me he should just kill me off!" Kur snapped. Then Adalyn wished Kur could just keep his mouth shut. "Please..."Adalyn begged in a clam manner looking at the pale man with her gentle eyes.

He made eye contact with her, and all hostility stored inside him melted away. His eyes welled with tears, but he refused to let them fall. Not in front of her.
The man's words cut him deep, and his blood boiled with indignation. But how could refuse the request of his Nightingale? With great reluctance, he returned Lucid Edge to its scabbard for the second time today. He glared venomously at the man, then spat, "This isn't over." He gave the fair lady one, last, meaningful look, then turned on the spot and strode off.
He needed time to cool off before tonight's performance. A dram or two of Clear Steel, he hoped, would be enough to soothe his itching nerves.
"Where in the Blue Blazes have you been?!" Cakoph nearly screeched, shaking Edward by the collar.
"Get your hands off me!" Edward shouted, slugging Cakoph with a mean right hook.
Cakoph staggered, then spat blood. Then he smiled. "Whatever. We're running out of time, but there's still a little more than enough." Cakoph stroked his long goatee, "Are there any requests from him?"
"Not so far as I know. You will know just after I do." Edward promised.
"Something does not feel right, Edward," Cakoph cautioned, "Usually the cities are buzzing with excitement when they learn we're performing there. But this place, it seems to be subdued. And not willingly. Like something is going to snap us when we start playing."
"Cakoph, you're too superstitious for all our sakes. Everything will be fine, you'll see."
"As far as 'fine' can go when you make your audience's ears bleed."
"Exactly" Edward smiled wickedly.

Adalyn's facial expression went from stressed to calm after he put away his sword. Adalyn smiled softy at him but then for some odd reason her heart fluttered when she seen his eyes gloss over. 'Was there something I did wrong? No.' she thought and stepped away from Kur. Then out of no where the guy spat at Kur. "This isn't over." he walked away, but Adalyn wasn't finished talking to him; she had to atleast thank him and get his name.
"Hey... hey wait up!" Adalyn ran fter him. her legs tired from running and dodging falling fire in the burned down house earlier. Her dressed clung to her curves down her hips then it flowed out to her feet. Adalyn slowed down when she seen another figure come up beside him and then the man that saved Adalyn's life punched him in the face. They started talking to one another but Adalyn really didn't care.
She finally caught up to him.
"I'm sorry for inturrupting your conversation. I just wanted to say... thank you for saving my life and if you don't mind I would like to know your name." Adalyn stated her heart skipped a beat and she trembled because of being nervous. "Sorry." Adalyn apologized her hands shaking slightly as she crossed her arms over her chest.

His eyes went wide with equal measures of shock and pleasant surprise. He shifted a bit, covering Cakoph's bloody features from her, an uneasy look on his chalky face.
"Oh, no, you're not interrupting anything." he stammered.
"Aren't you going to introduce me?" Cakoph sidled around his taller, slimmer companion, a glint in his eyes.
"Even if I knew her name, I wouldn't." Edward gripped Cakoph's arm hard enough to make him wince and retreat a tad.
He turned his attention to the beauty before him, the harshness in his face melting away at the sight. "My name is Den." He mostly lied.
"Oh, come on, tell her who you really are." Cakoph sneered.
Edward knew he would be unable to escape this mess, and the pleading, confused look in her eyes urged him silently. "Den is an acronym. I'm the Devil's Eager Nocturne." he flashed a winning, slightly sinister smile at her, liken to the image on the posters around the city heralding his arrival. "Perhaps you've heard of me?"

Adalyn glanced awkardly at the man her savior seemed to try to hide. The guy behind her savior came around.
"Aren't you going to introduce me?" the guy asked and Adalyn clearly seen the look of hunger play in his eyes.
"Even if I knew her name, I wouldn't."
Adalyn listened to him speak for a moment his voice was simple, stern yet smooth.
"The Devils what," Adalyn ignored that for the moment "well shall I call you Den?" Adalyn asked curiously looking over both men.
"No, I haven't heard of you until just now and you call yourself Den the Devil's Eager Nocturne... Well... you deserve to know my name since you sved my pathetic life." Adalynrolled her eyes. What had she done to be famour in Valear she's not a ledgend... " I'm Adalyn Rivers." Adalyn held her small, smooth hand out gently for him to shake.
Adalyn really didn't know what to think about this man. It made her overly curious.
'I'm just a normal woman born in Valear and this man says he's the Devil's Eager Nocture... I wonder what that means he does?' Adalyn thought to herself as she looked from 'Den' to the other man.
