A pointed ear twitched, and the trees;-rooted into the rocks of the path in a gnarled and dispassionate fashion-; seemed to enclose. It was as if nature was disappointed by the fact that she had now left the familiar grounds.
Alas. She had no choice. There was nothing left from where she had come, and if she wanted to survive and make a living, she would have to press on. Gritting her teeth she let her lips curl into a boyish frown, pulling the drab pale green tinted cream rob tighter still around herself, as to hide her form further. It was a soft fabric, comforting against her fingers as a snowflake fell; thus giving way to father winter's first kiss of the season to Ularian ridge. It was cold, but the bitterness of it seemed almost pleasant to the figure.
Kai could almost smile to herself, as she continued to make her way forward on bare feet in cautious light steps. Though she had a chance to practice her facade on a few passing travelers, she didn't want to bring attention to herself than needed, especially if she planned to go into town.
Undoubtedly. It was a shame she couldn't dye her hair. It might have made it easier for her...this shade of blue was hard not to spot, really.
The thought made itself painful when she spotted smoke rising from a small settlement of people in the distance below on lower ground.

Adrian, in his White Wolf form, quietly stalked through the forest. He was headed into town for a quick raid-they wouldn't allow him to be in town because of what he'd done, even as a human-but as a wolf, he was fast and strong.
And big. He was twice the size of a big wolf, with bright yellow eyes and pure white fur. He carried a thick cloak around his neck along with a pair of loose shorts for when he changed back later. Sitting silently, he watched, waiting for an opening in the crowds to run into town. The butcher's building was nearby. He growled when he remembered the last time he'd raided-he was rewarded with no meat and an arrow lodged in his side.
Adrian dashed into the city was just about to lunge when the wind brought him the scent of someone behind him. He froze and turned, running back into the forest. Had he been spotted by someone? he trotted he was only about twenty feet away from whoever was behing him. He could see someone-a figure with a robe and shocking blue hair. He poised to jump-this person was unfarmilliar, but it couldn't hurt to be safe. He moved a bit so he was easier to spot against the snow and barked loudly, once, then settled for a low growl. Not a dangerous growl, not a friendly growl, with his front teeth showing in a confused snarl.
((In my other post, he still had his clothes when he changed back, but i didn't like it, that's why he has clothes with him ))

(Alrighty) She had barely gotten into the edge of town. The smell of mean dulling her senses and she had to disguise her very discomforted look. She never cared for the stuff, rather, it made her violently the last time she tried some. The point was made not to touch it anytime thereafter. Her distracted walk halted abruptly when her voided blues locked with feral gold eyes. Most would take the sight of the large white wolf as a warning to leave, but the faerie didn't budge. Rather stood rigidly, eying the creature. She had seen many an animal in the forest around her home town...but never one quite like this. Never one so close to a town, Never one this big. Eyes drifted to the odd clothing tied around it's strong neck, but her attention diverted again when a bark sounded, causing the ears under her hood to flick back, Jostling it to fall back completely into a weird bunch around her neck. "What kind of wolf are you..." She seemed more perplexed than scared, the androgenous voice seeming hoarse, almost forced. ...and very fake. She curiously reached forward, the pale fingers seeming to consider touching the soft fur. Such action was quickly discouraged by the growl, and she snatched her hand back. "Well hello to you too." The person almost sounded offended, other hand moving to rest on her hatchet at her belt, but that was soon dispersed by a shrug..... Just as soon as she had gotten interest in the wolf, she was distracted again, gazing at the gravel path past it. She could barely make out snippets of conversation...but all and none made sense. She needed supplies so she could head out once agian, but she didn't feel all that confident with her knowlege of the language.

Adrian studied the person curiously. She wasn't quite like any other human he'd ever met. And her blue hair still intrigued him.
She seemed more curious than afraid, and even once reached out to touch him, which he discouraged. He enjoyed his personal space. tilting his head to one side, he leaned in precariously and sniffed her, his massive head coming up to her own. Then he drew back his lips in what could only be described as a wolf smile and sat down.
Somone else walking through the woods caught his attention. It seemed as though there was a person talking to himself, though he had addressed another person. Intrest focused on the new sound, he stood, peering curiously through the trees. There was definentaly someone there. Maybe it was someone from town-if that was the case he was going to leave.
He whined softly, glancing at the blue-haired girl. Did she know him? He fought between going to investigate the newcomer and staying with the current person. Perhaps leaving was the best option... Still, despite his better senses, he gave a meaningful stare to the blue haired girl. Stay there. Then silently trotted through the forest to see the other person coming through the woods, ready to fight should the person regognise him.

Trying to gather up her courage to go into town and buy something, she failed miserably. Funny how she could live effortly in a supposedly treacherous area, not be afraid of wolves possibly larger than she was, yet, be so shy to talk with people?
"Hopeless.." she sighed.
Shaking her head she looked down, and almost gave a giggle from the tickling of the wolf's breath on her when he sniffed her, causing her to absently swat and miss when the white beast alerted. Fluffy ears perked.
Obviously, there was someone going into the brush....She could hear one of the the same voices that had sounded from around the building.
The wolf whined, causing her to look at the canine again. a queer intelligence in it's eyes.
What she would give to know what was going through the creatures head, as it seemed to stare through her, trying to convey something before stalking off.
"Eh..?" She paused for a moment...it was just so strange.....
"...Mmn...okay then.."
Naturally. She didn't understand though, and followed lightly behind the wolf, not batting an eye when snow started to drift a little harder. She wasn't too worried about getting too lost. She could find her way around the woods well enough..but perhaps she -should- be more wary.

Damn this snow! There was never this terrible chill in the demon realm. the voice, Scorcahr, whined nasally. "I suppose that is one of the sacrifices you had to made when you came to Valear." the grey one explained. Need I remind you, Silvarn Grey-Eyes, the reason behind my coming to this pitiful plane?"No..." Silvarn shuddered, but not from the cold. Remind me again why we are chasing a white wolf?"It is quite a bit larger than the average wolf. Perhaps it gained a beneficial pox from the Shrine and is returning to feed its addiction to it? Even if not, it will know the forest better than you or I." It could be a trap."Scorcahr, every little thing in this world could be a trap." But, there are no wildlife to spy from. If they are hiding from us, I cannot locate them."Making matters all the more interesting. You worry too much, Scorcahr." He continued searching for the absent white wolf, the tattered edges of his cloak flapping in the arctic breeze. [[ Sorry, I deleted my previous post, because I thought I had intruded into a private thread uninvited. But then I realized, the thread sub-heading said it was open, sooo...my bad ]]

Adrian crept closer, with the blue-haired girl following. Of course, she wouldn't understand wolf looks. Some people did, but they were few and far between. Very few. He followed downwind of the person, who still seemed to be talking to himself, and froze when the person mentioned a wolf. A large wolf. Probably himself. The person said something of a shrine, and an addiction, which he knew nothing about as of yet. And knowing the way through th forest, which he did. He glanced at the one following him. At least she wasn't leaving. Even more stealthily, he crouched, slinking forewards. This person was no one he'd ever seen before, or smelled before. He seemed rather harmless. Well, if he was looking for a white wolf, he found one. Adrian trotted up until he was not five paced behind the newcomer, making sure he was in front of his follower so she could not be harmed. His head met to about the person's shoulders if he were to tilt it up. He let out a lout huff of breath that ruffled the mystery man's hair, yellow eyes peering curiously up at him. Is it me you wish to find? He wondered, waiting for him to turn around. ((that's fine ))

It was suspicious and unnerving. The way this man spoke to himself and wandered..
Though, the way he spoke to about the wolf, reminded her of how a scientist examined an experiment. Causing her to grimace.
Though with the mention of a shrine, Kai froze. lips forming a straight line, as her brows notted together in apprehension, and spoke without bothering to wait, or keep that valuable element of surprise.
"Why do you want to find the shrine?!" Came the sharp cut of her voice, again forcing it in a way that sounded boyish as she took more of a masculine stash. The statement was both acusary and curious, betraying that she did know of it, Despite the fact that the wolf almost abstructed the man's view of her, she kept her feet planted on the ground, elongated ears flatting back as soon as she realized her mistake. Well, at least she kept up her visage enough. She doubted she was any more intimidating when perceived as a male, but she found she was still taken..more seriously at times when she did play out as such.
She could've left it well enough alone....let the man wonder off by himself and get lost, and possibly eaten-but no! Her and her big mouth when she just acted on emotion!

Please tell me it is you that smells so bad. Scorcahr whined.
"I wish." his host grumbled.
The blast of foul breath had caused him to freeze on the spot, his muscles tensing to the breaking point. A stray wisp of silver lightning played along his fingertips. He dismissed it with a clench of his fists.
'Why do you want to find the shrine?" a shrill voice came from behind.
He took in several deep breaths, cleansing his mind from the poison of fear and adrenaline. Then he acted. He fairly leaped forward, though it was more of a dash, simultaneously twisting his body in a half-circle, summoning up a deep grey orb that burned with misty flames. He held it at the ready to defend himself, his face strangely apathetic, despite the situation.
He saw the large white wolf he had tracked thus far, made much larger by the close proximity, and a thin, willowy blue figure. He regarded both with equal distaste, his ancient grey eyes boring into each of them.
"First things first --" he growled at the duo, "who are you that gives you the right to sneak up on unsuspecting travelers?"
I say we kill them. Or, at least, make them submit to us so we can find that shrine more easily. Scorcahr suggested.
"Only as a last resort." his host admitted, keeping a firm, fierce glare on the other two.

Adrian cringed when the blue-haired girl shouted out about the shrine to the mn he was following, who had quite a reaction. He remined outwardly impassive as the person very quickly jumped forewards and spun sideways, conjuring up a ball of gray firey mist, but he tensed up, ready to grab the girl and flee should he find them hostile.
You wanted to find me, I know you did, Adrian desperately wished to tell him. And you accuse me of following you? He settled for a frusterated whine, laying down in the now-driving snow, trying to show that he was not a threat to him unless there was need to defend himself from the strange person. He hoped it would work-maybe he was mad, with all the talking to himself and such. He'd once seen a mountain man like that.
He fleetingly thought of changing back, but with some kind of magical orb aimed for him that may be a death sentence, especally if he was from town. No, changing would have to wait until the most oppertune moment. Then he could talk face-to-face with both of them.
He stared into the person's eyes intently. Lower your arm, we have done nothing wrong..

"Who was sneaking? You were so caught up with yourself that you didn't notice us until this big guy was practically on you." She barely flinched, crossing her arms as he stared at him levelly and resisted the urge to jaunt her hip to the side in annoyance.
Though, the tenseness in her pale fingers was as obvious as the rest of her, from her rigid stance, to the way her fingers spread out at her side, along with the cold chill that seemed to gather in the air close to her in some kind of manifestation.
Such coldness dissipated somewhat as she saw the wolf lay down, and her fingers went slack, raising her brows in slight surprise. This was definitely not normal behavior for a wolf..
She then, flushed as she mentally chided herself, bringing her attention back to the man who was pointing the start of what could be a good threat to one's health between them, as if contemplating who to point it at.
"...and I suggest you put that away as well. It's unneeded." She added dryly. She really didn't think she looked THAT imposing....well, maybe the wolf did....
She shook her head. Good god, her attention span must have atrophied in her time alone! There was a man looking particularly threatening and she was trying to determine if she was remotely dangerous looking? She thought with an exasperated groan.

We always run in to such interesting characters -- a wolf twice again too big with overly expressive eyes, and an obviously feminine imp trying to come across as a male of her species.
'It's unneeded.' the imp fairly commanded.
Silvarn took a step back, then another, regarding both of them with distrust. He held the orb out towards them, then clenched his fist, banishing the orb in a torrent of grey wisps.
"Be that as it may, lady," he spoke the imp, "I refuse to be taken for a fool." he kept his hands at the ready, should the need to again summon the Twilight arise.
As I recall, they wanted to know about the Shrine.
"You asked me about why I sought the Shrine. My business is my own. However, I am willing to offer an exchange of services." his ancient grey eyes grew cold and calculating, "I will to give you aid if you will take me to the Shrine once I have assisted you."
Oddly enough, he spoke nearly exclusively to the wolf.

Adrian relaxed, only slightly, as the person made his orb of firey mist disappear. Whoever this was was somewhat intimidating, and he much preferred him without a weapon of any sorts.
There, he mentioned the shrine again, and offered his aide if they would take him there once he assisted them. But assist them with what? And the person seemed to be speaking only to Adrian, which was odd enough. Who was this person? Adrian stood again, turning to look at the blue-haired person. He wished he knew names, but those were rather hard to get as an animal. He stared into her eyes, calculating her responses. Would she want to go? Well, either way he did. He was curious as to what this man was up to.
Looking back as the scarier of the two, he nodded-hoping he would understand that he accepted. If he thought hard, he may know of something that could be a shrine. It was a bit deeper into the snowy ridge, then east. It wouldn'd be too much of a hike, for him anyways. Then again, what if it wasn't the shrine? Would they e killed? He tilted his head to one side. Perhaps the man knew what the shrine looked like, and could draw a rough picture in the snow. He gave he powdery fluff a pointed glance, than a inquiring whine, though doubting either of them would get what he wanted. Thet could mean a dozen things.

She gave a derisive snort, eyes narrowing slightly as she leant back on her heels, in a semi relaxed pose as she listened to the offer. It was obvious at the very least, that she, for the most part had been figuratively set aside for the moment.
"Fool or not. I wouldn't assume anything. I only ask because it's location is near my people's grounds. Other wise I wouldn't care less and leave you well enough alone." She mumbled under her breath, not even bothering to adjust her voice anymore.
She highly doubted he would take her words with any weight, or even listen to her.
But, she -would- follow and challenge them and if they came too close to anything significant, she'd block the path and challenge him if she deemed. She wouldn't let those grounds...even if it were such a grave yard be desecrated due to ignorant actions conducted near them.
She had no idea what resided there herself...having heard only where is was, how to get in, and warnings of NEVER to go there after the first had ventured too close and hadn't come back.
Selfish or not, she cared deeply for that area. and wasn't too trustful when it came to humans. Though, she noted with a grim humor, it was all a ways away, a good few hours of going up steep ground in such dropping temperatures. She half wondered if her worry was even warranted. looking at the intimidating, yet....questionably thin form.
Then again, she was smaller yet, yet -thrived- in this weather. She would just have to keep an eye.
After all, if the wolf was asked, she wouldn't intrude too much unless it was warranted. She wasn't THAT surly and incontempt.

Silvarn vibrated in place, clutching at his pasty flesh to keep warm. He regarded the wolf's actions closely, yet was baffled by what it was trying to get at.
"Is there or will there be too much snow too travel there, is that what you are trying to get across?" he tersely suggested to the wolf.
He listened to the runt's words, mulling them over in silence. "I see." he muttered. "And, would your people be willing to allow a foreigner onto their sacred lands, if only passing? I care nothing for your people. That is to say, I mean them no harm. I only care about reaching the Shrine."
Something tells me we need to keep an eye more on the little one than the wolf. Scorcahr whined.
"And why is that?" Silvarn asked the wolf's muzzle.
Something about it is unnerving. Something...willowy.
Silvarn ignored his servant's babbling, his face dire with seriousness, "Again, I wish to offer you my services in exchange for yours. What aid can I offer you? Tell me."
